This is one of the best campus life novels I've read. The way the emotions of the characters are portrayed is so beautiful.

I absolutely adore both of the characters. I loved reading how their relationship and feelings developed. This is a must read for everyone.

I ended up dropping this halfway because it was becoming somewhat of a drag, and it was also somewhat off-putting to see the ML be so pushy with his pursuit despite the MC rejecting him multiple times. Although I understand that the MC lowkey had some affection for him too, and that they're both young and don't really understand much about relationships yet, it still feels like a chore reading their interactions.

I think that's also because there isn't that much magical chemistry going on between them. I'm not sure how... more>> to explain it, but I've read rivals-to-lovers stories before but there was always some palpable ambiguous tension going on. Here, it feels forced. Even the rivalry feels forced. The typical sidekick characters written for comedy are also uninspired.

Maybe it's because I've read so many characters like the ones here already that the interactions no longer moves me. Or perhaps I need go read through more chapters. But I'm already past the halfway mark and I'm still not convinced enough to continue. Perhaps one needs to be a in a specific mood or mindset to fully enjoy this. <<less

Okay so this is my first time writing a review, but I just had to do it because this book?? Absolutely AMAZING. I'm seriously begging you guys—read it!!

It’s full of heartwarming scenes, hilarious moments, and characters that you’ll fall in love with instantly. I laughed out loud so many times (like, actual tears from laughing), and the ending made me tear up in a different way—it was just so beautiful and emotional.

The main couple? PURE PERFECTION. The MC starts off as a tsundere—but once they... more>> start dating, he turns into the biggest softie ever. He cares so much about the ML, and so is the ML always caring about the ML. ML has a crush on MC right from the start. There might be a bit of drama in the middle but then it gets solved pretty quickly- doesnt drag for too long.

And don’t even get me started on the friend group. Every single character has their own charm, and they’re all so funny in their own way. It’s one of those stories where the side characters make the whole world even more fun and lovable.

This novel is a very recent work by one of my favorite authors Mu Gua Huang. To summarize the plot from start to finish is

-MC And ML rivals

ML confessing his love to MC

... more>> MC doesn’t reject but doesn’t accept his confession so ML pursues him

ML uses his unbeatable charm on MC

MC and ML starts dating

And now the most important part.. Imagine those dramatic k drama where the ML parents wants them to stop dating BUT it’s MC dad, which contributes to their break up.

Then we have are angst moments of absolute torture to our hearts+time skip

but wait they got back together basically MC using the classic line “F**k what my dad says I love you man” (this is obviously not just what he said)

Then the two MC & ML goes through hardships, joyful moments and they are proudly together happily ever after!!!

Okay but for a more serious summary

MC hates ML due to their beef in high school (that was one sided LOL).

When MC went to college he met ML again because they signed up for the same major (Law if I remember correctly). The thing is are MC and ML friends have known about their “rivalry” and it adds fuel to the fire, making it honestly s*upidly funny to me. But MC and ML tension between each other reduces as we get a little further into the story.

As they got closer MC found out ML has had a crush on him ever since their second year of high school. This lead to our ML pursuing his future wife and this part was as another review I saw said kinda pushy. But I wish to ensure you that it doesn’t get toxic at all and it’s just our ML being s*upidly in love with our MC.

The story is generally cute and emotional, absolutely hilarious. <<less
