This is a story of Park Gyura, a survivalist or apocalypse prepper whatever one calls him. The world is showing the signs of am impeding apocalypse so the protagonist builds a shelter to survive in the post apocalyptic world. The story is his life after the dooms day.

Its a slow faced story which focuses on more realistic elements of what will happen when an actual apocalypse occurs. Honestly, the apocalypse is in the making, the civilisation is slowly collapsing and we see various stories and tragedies in this cruel world.

The... more>> novel also focuses on comedic elements as a relief to the tragedies occurring all around. The source of that comedic relief is the online community of the apocalypse preppers who interact daily with each other.

This novel lacks action/adventure and monster fights troupe. Our main character isn't an one man army, his strength is within the limit of human capabilities as far as I have seen.

There are various slice of life elements in the story as well. The protagonist is not someone who is selfless or has some sense of justice but instead a realist. He does have a good heart but he knows what's most important in the world filled with betrayals is his life.

This would be a great read for those who are looking for a mix of slow story, tragedy, comedy and slice of life. This might not suit the taste of people looking for action/adventure/romane. <<less

Not really good at writing reviews...

This is a pretty slow-paced novel, which makes sense given its slice of life. I quite like the MC and the Defender is my favorite character so far. :>

If you like a slow-paced novel with a pretty smart and pragmatic protagonist who is also very human at the same time, then this novel is for you.

The translation is also pretty good so far. Zombie-kun keep it up! :>

This story is more of a journal entry with the MC surviving through a nuclear war. The story is mostly about the MC, his fellow forum community members, and his neighbors trying to survive a post apocalyptic korea.

This novel really shows you the horrors of war with the MC witnessing it first hand. It's not your generic hunter/dungeon crawler fic either because they don't use bullsh*t reasons to nerf humanity by making the monsters immune to firearms.

The translation is pretty great too so that's also a plus.

The novel has a really comedic and slow life trope delivery, but every once in a while it reminds you that it is a tragedy, especially with one liners that incredibly just hits painfully. It’s really well written plus the translation makes sure that it stays that way.

Just finished binge-reading the story and honestly, it's so different from what I expected! If you're tired of those typical Korean novels where the MC becomes super OP and fights monsters, this one's a breath of fresh air. It follows this guy Park Gyu who's basically just trying to survive a nuclear apocalypse in his bunker, and it feels really real?

The best part is how the story balances serious stuff with funny moments - like there's this whole online community of preppers that had me laughing, but then the author... more>> hits you with these scenes that remind you how messed up the world is. The main character isn't trying to be a hero - he's just a normal dude making choices anyone would make to stay alive.

It's definitely slow-paced and more about daily life during the apocalypse than action scenes. Sometimes you're just reading about this guy managing his shelter and dealing with his neighbors, but somehow it stays interesting. Fair warning though - if you're looking for lots of action or romance, this probably isn't your thing. But if you want something that feels real with a mix of funny and serious moments, give it a shot! <<less

I was following this story since the previous translator. It was very unique in it's approach to the apocalypse genre to say the least. The way the story is flowing till now, I think this novel will integrate the hunter genre in Korean literature. But it's not that basic hunter novel, it's more grounded into reality. So, I think it has a lot of potential in this case. I also like the MC of the novel. He takes every decision a sensible normal person like us would take in this... more>> f*cked up world. Although I think he has some screw loose, because of the long term isolation. But it only affects the comedic aspect of the story.

I was really sad when the previous translator dropped the novel. But now that it's picked up again, I am really enjoying the new translation. Hope it doesn't get dropped again. <<less

It's not your traditional story, when you know the apocalypse will come and then purchase out a villa and save the entire world step by step. The main character is not a hero, has enough power to become a hero, or has a big heart to become a hero. The world is bleak with almost no hope left, a remnant of civilized life. So far, he doesn't have any love to his life either.

Honestly speaking, the story might come out as edgy to some people, with how deaths are commonplaces... more>> and people don't think twice in a dog-eat-dog world. But personally, I think the novel delivers a more gritty and “realistic” what might become of our lives if the world comes to an end. And even when they are all doomed to fade away, the struggle (or lack there) of different people who prepared and who are left to die like dogs, makes this novel an interesting piece to read. Especially with the small arc that had just finished when I wrote this review. Hopefully, the current translator would keep this project up to the end. <<less
