I don't know if I would call the ML a slag gong the way all the reviews do. Both the MC and ML are just so freaking s*upid, and f*cked up a mutual relationship for 7 years (7! Years!). Obviously, you sympathize more with the MC when reading - I did cry out of anger at some points in the story, and I really liked how cold he was to the ML during the "wife chasing crematorium" section. But you do end up feeling a little sorry for the ML... more>> too. I think the "chasing" in the timeskip could have been extended because it's sort of like - um? Sorry, did the ML actually do anything to repent other than saying sorry and stressing himself out into the hospital like a delicate purebred pet? And the fact that he kept the same friends around who humiliated and bullied the MC? Like, wow. A cheap shou is really a cheap shou, is the feeling you have at the very end. It's disappointing because I think it started off strong. <<less

There is the expected dog blood drama, but it's not unrelentingly angsty. I hate typical stories of this trope where MC endures ab*se from ML, and then quickly forgives them the moment ML repents. That's why this story is a breath of fresh air, in that MC doesn't let the ML walk all over him. Once he decides to end things with ML, he is pretty decisive about it.

ML's self-assured assumptions come crashing down, and it's just therapeutic to see him come to the realization the MC HAS HAD IT, and has no intention of going back. MC is decisive in everything he does. When he chose to be with ML, he gave his all to him. When he later chooses to start anew, he doesn't look back. ML had his work cut out for him in earning his way back. <<less

Yeah, another cliche 'stand in, s*upid uke s*upid seme' story, but this is the type of story I like to read even thought I don't like the story. Just machosist thing.

But this story have so many holes and unsatisfied part unlike the other typical story like this.

Personally I like that kind of story and I'm happy that MC isn't wishy washy and actually grown a backbone, even the ML repented accordingly. I'm glad that the drama wasn't over the top as it can actually get in cn novels, overall its pleasant short read.

The premise of most crematoriums are confounding

• Blackmailing, drugging, basically forcing someone into a relationship then feeling aggrieved when they don't reciprocate your feelings. Any relationship needs a solid foundation so how can such a vile one survive? No one likes being forced even if it's for "their own good"
• Not communicating your demands
• Magically expecting a cold person to treat you warmly (again, without expressing a need)
• Still treating them well even if they treat you badly. Then wonder why they never treat you right (like women doing wifely duties but still expecting a man to propose when he can get everything without the need to propose)

It's always difficult to empathise with mc's for putting up with bs for so long. I have a modicum of respect for this one, especially... more>> for his resilient spirit.

Ml's like this bother me

• Chaebols who don't yet have the power to protect themselves nor their loved ones. I'd take a nouveau riche over a dependent chaebol any day.
• People who can do better but just choose not to. (He easily gave words of affirmation, easily drew the line with his white moonlight, what was stopping him before?)
• Deeply egotistical people
• People who can't empathise ie. What if my partner was still close to their white moonlight? Or if they went on blind dates with females.

Anyway ML wasn't a terrible person. At least he never sexually assaulted MC. He had to grow and learn how to love others not just receive it. <<less

Didn't love it, didn't hate it

Do I wish there was more groveling and better communication? Absolutely. But I also knew what I was signing up for so I'm not too upset about it either. I was in the mood for exactly what this story delivered, which is why I gave it 3 stars.

I do wish the extras were translated though.

I'M IN LOVEEEE WITH THIS NOVEL!!

Whoever said that the gong didn't deserve forgiveness, HAVE YOU EVER READ THE EXTRASSS?!! He clearly loves the MC, its just that both of them always put an act concealing each other emotions to prevent getting their hopes up on each other. They both needed communication! Which they already did after the reconciliation!!

And I can clearly understand why ML hates MC in the beginning of their relationship after reading the extras. And im truly sad for him :' (poor ML, but I still disagree... more>> with the way he vented his anger to MC after being left by his first crush and being betrayed by MC (which is MC's way to help ML from ML's parent --ughh the misunderstanding). He's a bastard for that. But yeah, I could understand his anger and disappointment.

Because the extras give me a lot of informations abt their dynamic (more than the entire novel) 🤣🤣, I think I need to reread the entire novel again bcs I really got confused the first time I tried to read the novel.

They give me a love hate relationship vibe I think. They both love each other, just really good at acting for deceiving and concealing their emotions.

The story plot is alright. I just, many plot holes and unrealistic event make no sense for realistic ending. Realistically, not all bad guy in your life surely taste the karma with same pain. They still breath and enjoy life freely after giving pain to other. In this novel, the author wants to project that. There is no justice for MC's pain. Unfortunately all the hate for MC none reasonable so can't fit with realistic ending.

Loved it. Angsty and a hidden fluff only readers will understand. Though the ending was abrubt and could have been better, I guess it was fine.

I like this story, while it has the initial angst element, it also has funny and sweet moments. Can't help but think about how adorable this is, this story is really suitable if you want to read a short angsty story with a HE. While it is not SUPER angsty, it is enough.

This is a story I may potentially re-read. It is not too long and can give me the feels and enjoyment I'm seeking from a novel.

This was a wonderful read! Unexpectedly, as I read so many bad reviews. I thought it was all about ab*se of s*um gong but instead it was more about healing of MC and letting go imo. Characters and emotions are not so exaggerated like in many (BL) novels but felt rather real and human.... more>> A heartfelt story that made me cry especially in the beginning.

The author has a very pleasant writing style and translation was excellent. Following the story there are multiple flash backs that shows that MC is not complete reliable narrative. You follow the journey of MC from the moment of deciding to leave till he let go in end and... eventually get back together after an event.

MC is very likeable. No longer a doormat (what I was afraid of) as we follow his story from the moment he leaves

The characters of this story felt pretty real to me. Misunderstandings yes... But in real life I know many couples have these communication issues as well. You can call it misunderstandings but aren't many relationships like that?? one party is/felt neglected and unloved and the other party maybe does like/love their partner but doesn't show it enough or is dumb and take it too much for granted.

This was an interesting idea but I don't think that it was that well executed. The ML and MC are both very shallow and their characters don't change at all. I don't really like any of the supporting characters and the only good thing I could find about the story is that the grammar is great.
