I found myself inside the game I used to enjoy.

But something feels off.

MC transmigrates into the game character he created in the fantasy video game he was playing but with a twist.

He ends up 500 years in the future after the game plot ended so instead of a fantasy world he finds himself in a steampunk world.

MC is strong from the start since he has the physical body of the character that he finished the game with but all his other abilities are locked so he is not overpowered and characters stronger than him were introduced already.

I find it quite refreshing to... more>> see a protagonist that doesn't know everything about the world he transmigrated in and watch as he makes his way forward in a new and mysterious world.

Let's hope the author keeps up the good work and the story won't go downhill in the later stages. <<less

Same concept of the "Wizard takes medicine (something) " but a Knight version, good read and because it still early, I will give 3 to 4 stars.

I hope more readers read this.

Basically Fantasy Steampunk 2077.

The MC isekais into his max level soulsbourne character, except 500 years into the future in the midst of an industrial revolution, into the outer areas of a megacity where he ends up taking up the netrunner/mercenary/solo lifestyle. But as a knight in an era where knights have been rendered obsolete by guns.

Still feels somewhat episodic as of the first 50 chapters.

This novel is really special compared to others in the same genre, like Stuck in the Game that you’ve read. While it uses a similar setting to other novels, this serves only as foreshadowing and lore to move the story forward. The protagonist is particularly likable.

He is a knight, but one with a sharp mind. Instead of brute-forcing his way through challenges, he thoughtfully solves problems and respects his companions’ decisions when they make requests.

His job as a fixer is not focused on money as the main priority. Instead, his... more>> primary goal is to learn about the world and regain his power.

The novel’s background as a fixer gives me a feeling similar to Genius Wizard Takes Medicine, but with the wizard replaced by a knight.

The supporting characters are very well-written, and I absolutely love his fixer home—it’s incredibly comforting. <<less

Great setting, great world building, interesting characters, exciting fights.

Heavy souls like/elden ring inspiration, combined with a steam punk setting.

Isekai elements are interesting and have depth, but can also easily be ignored if you aren't an isekai fan. The story is kind of a double isekai in a way, so ignoring all the mentions of earth and video games hardly changes the story.

Highly recommend, but the Darkstar Translations site is unusable without any adblockers so be warned before you try to read.

It was the feeling of both excitement and emptiness when he managed to beat his favorite game 100%. The game might be tough (Soulslike type), but it was always there to accompany him during the loneliness and struggles of working on a desk job. So when the game asked, "Do you want to start the next playthrough?", he pressed "yes".

But instead of continuing playing, he ended up transmigrating into the game itself. What's worse, the game world he once knew now felt strange because he transmigrated hundreds of years into... more>> the future. The knights had been forgotten, and the era of guns was rapidly advancing.

Your typical OP MC story, where his knowledge of the game and maxed-out stats made everyone gasp in awe. The reason I kept on reading this was because it kinda had that 'misunderstanding undertone' in it. Since the MC designed his character (named Osian) with the handsome face of a noble, well... people kept assuming he was a noble lol. His expression, which always appeared calm and emotionless, led others to think that he was a composed man full of mystery and a dark past. Please, they thought he was roleplaying 🤣

The story itself is about him working as a hitman for hire. So the storyline is not quite continuous as of yet, more like a series of episodic missions. That doesn't mean it was boring, tho. The descriptions were detailed, the battles were cool, and the characters had varied personalities. The enemies were the types of evil guys who didn't deserve to be forgiven. I usually don't really like this kind of villain, since they tend to be one-dimensional. But in this novel, it made sense because they lived in an area where money was worshipped, and human experiments were a norm. So Osian and his friends were like a glimmer of light in the darkness. Especially the main character. It's not just literally that he was a knight in shining armour, but figuratively as well. He embodies the sense of justice, where he will punish all the evil yet will show mercy to those innocent (seriously. Legit made me forget sometimes that he was an Isekai man and not a real Knight). That's why when they defeated those money-hungry villains and crazy scientists, it felt incredibly satisfying instead. I'm enjoying this novel so far. 😌

Well, there was this one instance that made my eyebrows furrow a bit, however. It was a mission to escort the witch to a safe place and another to protect the princess. Both of those were essentially the same job, a.k.a bodyguard work. The gap between those missions was so close together, exactly back to back, and it became a bit redundant. I feel like... after the witch escort mission, there should have been a little break at least. Maybe an exploration mission or just beating up some strong enemies. Then, they could've moved into the princess protection mission. That way, it wouldn't feel repetitive.

Honestly, there wasn't enough downtime in this novel. Once a mission was over, the next one began immediately. It felt like there was no time to breathe, tbh.

Spoiler

And what of that beast that saved Lorraine? I thought it was Osian's doppelganger who changed form but it seems it was a completely new character? It just appeared one day and now it disappeared to who-knows-where. We didn't get any explanation whatsoever. Maybe in the future chapters??? I really hope so

Will edit this review when the novel is finally complete <<less

I recommend Sayren's novels if you like charming protagonists. It depends on each person's taste, it's the story of a protagonist that is liked by everyone in the novel. But I can say that its author takes care of digging slowly but surely in the world of the story, has an easy narrative and knows how to link the content of the work. I also really like how they adapt the protagonist's abilities that are from a video game to the "real" world and realize that for ordinary humans it... more>> can be a great spectacle or the nightmare of their lives, the protagonist is not a Charismatic fool like most isekais. If not, he seeks to adapt progressively to a world he does not know but complying with the principles that govern his character (that he is a knight and feels like the Overlord design in that section, whoever has read the Japanese novel will understand).

The only thing I do not like about Sayren's novels is that almost all the beautiful female characters are behind the protagonist so it is usually annoying and unpleasant. <<less
