So the main character is seen as very weak, and acts very passively in the first 18ish chapters. He takes ab*se from his students and overall is just a very passive protagonist that I as a reader just find boring. It's somewhat realistic, sure, since a 30 year old teacher is suddenly thrown into another world with teenagers, who then proceed to act like a teenager would if they had suddenly been given a lot of power, irrationally. He believed himself to be weak and just overall the start of the story was kind of a slog to get through, since its just the protagonist being harassed or setup of world building. Now, after chapter 18 one of the students who I believe was nice to him but suppressed by the others being the majority (? bit unclear since I can't honestly tell them all apart) but she broke up with her boyfriend, and he took it badly and messed with the teleportation device sending her to a danger area, so the teacher (still believed to be weak) asked to be sent there aswell so she is at least with someone. Now that he is there, he found that he could kill monsters with his sword and is starting to become op like the title says, but since only a few chapters have come out its unclear on how the direction will go. I'm hoping that it becomes a lot more interesting now that he is actually fighting so I'm marking this in my waiting for chapters. So overall, at least with the current 21 chapters I wouldn't recommend the novel, but I think it has potential once we get further in the book.

Overall I think the book is pretty good. It's kind of in a training arc for all of volume 2 and I'm not really sure on the direction that it is going. There is some set up for the future but its still vague. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece by any means but the translation is good and its a good simple read.

I would say the story has gotten somewhat better in regards to his personality, but he still is so passive that its aggravating. So in this world there is a ranking system, and you can rank up by defeating someone of a higher rank and by chance he got one of the highest celestial ranks. Because of this there are people hunting him down to try to take the position, and one of those groups came aiming to kill him and also held a knife up to one of his students throats. He is willing to kill the person he was fighting, but when one of the others lost their will and started to run away he was thinking about sparing them before one of his comrades (a knight) killed them and told him to finish the job.

Since there is the context of him being instructed it feels like it will improve over time in the story, but its still just so annoying to me when I'm reading. I understand that his character is suppose to be good natured, but these are people who came aiming for your life and could very easily harm those who are precious to you. They have demonstrated that they would use any method, so then why are you sparing them. If they decided to retaliate then they could very easily kill villagers or weak people near him. At least to me it feels like his morals are somewhat twisted, I think for fantasy books its fine if a protagonist values life and doesn't want to kill if they don't have to but his actions to me demonstrate that he puts the life of someone who has no qualms about mu*der for a position over the lives of his students or people close to him. He is directly choosing actions that can endanger those lives. It feels like its been improving and I understand that its how his character is set up, and in the context of a story nothing will happen but every time I read one of these sections I just get such a strong feeling of "His actions could very well cause some people he is close with to die"
