Honesty, I was a bit torn on how to rate this. I feel a bit deceived by the description. The story had a several good moments and made me laugh and the romance was really not stressful. However, the characters just derailed so quickly and by the last few chapters, it just got so boring and uninteresting to me. I'll keep it at a 3.0 star but not any higher and maybe probably even slightly lower. Maybe some people will think it's a great short read but to me, it... more>> seems like the author just starts throwing random stuff and then never get back to them.

For example, there was a demon cub in story 2 that became MC & ML's daughter but after that story finished, you never see them again. Then there's was a part in story 1 that MC said she can't sing to save her life which is re-emphasized in other stories, yet, in story 4, suddenly she can sing by copying the exact voice and tone of the singer and BAM she's a star with tons of fans.

The most confusing thing to me is MC's character. She starts out as someone who's a big demon lord and is running into novel plots for fun due to boredom. The "system" (actually the spirit of the Reincarnation Mirror in her real world) Mao Tuan is terrified of her power in the beginning and keeps praising MC for how dedicated she is to being a "cannon fodder" and staying in character. HOWEVER, MC is literally anything but cannon fodder. There are random time skips throughout (understandable if the author wanted to keep the chapters shorter), MC has random powers from being able to just delete everyone's memories to preventing people from posting images just cause she didn't want them online?, and no matter how OOC MC becomes, the plots just either corrects themselves or, in the case of the 4th storyline, just doesn't matter anymore. The MC and ML are supposed to be partners in their actual timeline, but when they're in the story, MC is just super OP and can beat ML at every turn. So I couldn't get a good grasp on the MC's power level and it kinda hurts to think too much about it.

However, I did manage to read until the end and it did end super quickly. Like, I was left with a few questions but at that point, I was already numb to the weird storytelling so I was just more glad I was done with this. This really didn't get better the longer the story went on, at least to me. It's not a super terrible read so if you're bored then you can give it a go. I would say, read it until the 2nd story and if it's still not interesting then feel free to drop it. O

More spoilers for those who want it (warning it's a lot like half spoilers and half ranting!!!) :

Spoiler

Story 1: MC becomes a little girl who is the stepsister of the female protagonist's white moonlight, Xiao Yan. She was supposed to pass away in high school due to bullying/pressure which becomes Xiao Yan's regret so years later when Xiao Yan sees the female protagonist being bullied at his company, he stands up for her. This causes female protagonist to develop feelings for Xiao Yan but he had zero feelings for her so she is eventually conquered by the male protagonist who is a star actor. So... in the beginning, the system (that is actually the spirit of a mirror or something), keeps praising how dedicated MC is to being a cannon fodder and how serious she was taking the storyline. How she's determine to play her part through. BUT, she doesn't die. As in, she doesn't become a cannon fodder..... Instead, she's not bullied at all in school but becomes the school goddess and super well-liked by everyone. The only true part from the description is that yes, her stepbrother is a sis-con so much that he actually falls in love with her..... Later MC just leaves school to go study abroad and then starts traveling right after college so there's a big time-skip. She comes back to help out ML's company for a bit and meets the female protagonist, eventually helping out female protagonist which made her change her way and ta-da, plot is back on track again even if Xiao Yan doesn't help out. Then when Xiao Yan confesses his love to MC, she doesn't accept it because she thinks she's not from this world so she doesn't want to try love. Instead, she rather focus on food and traveling because she's mainly there to experience new things/be on vacation from her real world. Later, when MC's grandma passes, she wants to leave the world but instead of just pretending to die, she just.... makes everyone's memories disappear.... And then she's gone, no harm done.

Okay, like, it's fine if the author doesn't want MC to become an actual cannon fodder but if that's the case... THEN WHY DID YOU ACT LIKE YOU WANT TO BE A CANNON FODDER SO MUCH??? Like, it's ok if the author just made this a cannon fodder comeback story, instead of an OP demon lord that becomes a cannon fodder. I wouldn't mind if the novel title/description was a bit misleading, but even in the novel itself it just kept emphasizing on how she's good at being a cannon fodder and how she takes it so seriously etc. etc. YET SHE DOESN'T EVEN DIE LIKE HOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE. Like, I'm so confused. Author, that was supposed to be the main theme and yet, you just like, throw it out the window and suddenly MC just does whatever she wants for the rest of the novel. Yes, the rest of the stories, she is literally nothing like a cannon fodder. The only cannon fodder was the original story lines but MC doesn't even follow them. Like, I just don't understand why the author wrote it in one way and then just said, okay well she's a demon lord that no one can control so now let's just write it in this way for the rest of the novel.

Even all the 4 storylines don't even matter. Like, it literally doesn't even matter who the protagonists are or what the storyline is. Everything just becomes a romance plot where the MC and ML show off their love to everyone. Story 1, it takes a while for ML to like MC (believable), story 2: it takes a few days for ML to like MC but he was interested in her from the moment he saw her (ok, sure still can be believable), story 3: ML falls in love with MC's martial arts and demands to marry her after seeing her twice (idk, I guess you can argue believable since he just wants to fight her and can do it more easily if they're married but still... that's a bit much), story 4: MC saves ML once, he sees her a second time, then he's obsessed (I... idk, I just think it's still too quick, like they date for a few months then suddenly they're engaged). Not to mention that ML doesn't have any memory of MC in every new story so he basically has to fall in love with her all over again each time. It just becomes a headache if you try to think too much about it.

Real Life: After story 1 was over, MC returns to her real world which is the demon realm. Apparently in this realm, it's always gloomy and everyone is fighting each other all the time. Time flows slower so spending years in the novel was only a few months in real life. You find out that even though MC left for only 3 months, all her servants left except one, a demon wolf who has been her partner for the longest. They were both in seclusion so he wasn't out yet. However, it's pretty much certain that he was Xiao Yan and is the ML and she realizes this after she came out. Anyways, she just dives back into the next novel and told Mao Tuan it's ok if he follows again later.

Story 2: MC has a biological son but not the ML's! MC is in love with the male protagonist's father, while another cannon fodder, Xu Haicheng is in love with male protagonist's mother. When male protagonist's father and mother got married, both MC and XH got drunk and rolled in the sheets together. This made her pregnant with her son, Su Lian. Eventually MC's family falls into ruin and she tries to abandon Su Lian only to see the male protagonist (who is like 5 years old at the time) about to be hit by a car so she saves him since he's the son of the man she loves. She dies and main protagonist, Sheng Hengrong, was saved by her so his parents take in Su Lian. Later, they both fall for the female protagonist which leads to Su Lian eventually becoming the villain and losing. ML is Sheng San, who is the male protagonist's father's uncle. He is dying but the demon wolf puts his soul into his body and so he starts to get better. Then MC says he's probably following her and since she's the owner of the Reincarnation Mirror then she doesn't lose her memories but he does, that's why he won't remember her or have too much special powers or something.

Anyways, this story is the one where the storyline literally doesn't matter. MC doesn't die to save Sheng Hengrong but he doesn't die anyways because he has "protagonist" halo so there was no point in the first place. Honestly, when this happened I just thought, then what was the point of writing all that backstory only to just toss it in the tr*sh? Like, literally what is the point of reading this?? The author just builds a world then crushes it and says oh MC is just too OP so she can do whatever she wants. Like, she's not cannon fodder at this point and she's not even pretending anymore to follow the storyline. Instead, MC just starts acting like herself, not even like the previous body and no one really questions it. Then suddenly she finds someone trying to break into her dwelling in the real world so Mao Tuan suddenly stops time and MC goes beat up that person. At the same time she comes out, so does the demon wolf so we meet him in his real form for the first time. Nothing gets said but they go and beat up another demon for its dwelling since theirs has collapsed. A demon cub is left behind so MC gives it to Mao Tuan to raise for a bit. They both go back to the novel world. ML and MC eventually confirm relationship, they get married, MC creates two "children" for ML putting Mao Tuan in one and the demon cub in another so they have a boy and girl, then everything is smooth sailing from there. ML dies first but MC follows right after, she has Mao Tuan stay until the girl and Su Lian passed. And that's it. Oh, and it turns out, the female protagonist doesn't even show up.... SHE DOESN'T EVEN SHOW UP. Like, she just falls for someone who wasn't even part of the original story and that was that. Like, I just felt what's the point of writing a cannon fodder script when there's no consequence or follow up? It just kinda seem so pointless.

Real world: MC and ML gets closer together and ML is so clingy that MC goes into the 3rd world.

Story 3: MC has a childhood sweetheart who promised to marry her but then goes back on his words in order to marry someone with more power. Heartbroken, she randomly marries another person who promises never to take in a concubine. However, her mother-in-law is dissatisfied because MC hasn't gotten pregnant so she gets a maid to serve her son and eventually succeeded in getting maid pregnant. MC is super upset so she locks herself in her courtyard for 10 years. Then MC comes into the storyline. Female protagonist is the maid's daughter and she is reborn. In her past life, she married the wrong person and dies tragically at a young age so she is determined not to repeat it. She doesn't hate MC, instead, she thinks they're both caged birds and never saw her in her past life before MC passed away. So she goes to burn paper money for MC one year and runs into the male protagonist, thus, the reason why MC was cannon fodder.

ML is Prince Rui who should have died in a remote mountain but instead the demon wolf took over his body and saved his life. Then he returns to the palace and runs into MC at a banquet. He becomes interested in her because she is stronger than him and he's obsessed with martial arts so he eventually asks the emperor to marry her so he can have a reason to fight her without her declining. MC is able to divorce her husband, meets ML in public with ML giving her a "love token", gets married, and then they fight. Eventually, they go from fighting physically to fighting in bed and Mao Tuan once again becomes a "son".

Honestly, the female protagonist is barely seen anymore and the next you hear of her is that she still ended up with the male protagonist even without MC dying and her going to burn paper money. Like, the plot doesn't need MC so once again, I'm just baffled at why the author emphasized this was a cannon fodder story when haha actually we don't need MC anyways and the plot will just correct itself. I mean, MC has never been a cannon fodder and it would have been fine if the author just came out and wrote it that way but they didn't so it just makes it seem like the author is doing whatever they want and randomly will remember to think about the actual novel characters and write something as an afterthought.

Story 4: First off, there's no real life anymore. It just jumps straight to the 4th story. I'm starting to think the author has given up on side stories and just wants to end the novel. Setting is interstellar world with mechas and zergs. MC is a spoiled rich girl who has a fiance, Xie Mingzhao (second male lead) but the fiance actually falls for the female protagonist. He tries to break off the engagement, MC is mad so she goes to confront him only to die to the zergs. MC and fiance's families become enemies due to this. After female protagonist finds out about this, she cuts off her feelings with the second male lead and focuses on her studies and career until she meets the actual male protagonist and they get together. Meanwhile second male lead is just content being female protagonist's silent guardian.

ML is Huo Jun who is the strongest student from the Practical Combat Department. He is actually the emperor's (yes this interstellar world has an emperor system) illegitimate child, one of many. Anyways, he's supposed to die to a level S zerg that ambushed him (reason because of another illegitimate child wanting to eliminate competition) but the demon wolf takes over his body and survives. Anyways, he's later saved by MC after being attacked again by another level S adult zerg (she just kills it in one punch). So he looks for her, finds her, then just falls for her. MC eventually convinces her family to cancel the engagement and right away, ML and her start dating, all in like a month's time.....

Then the story just diverts to ML's side where he's the emperor's illegitimate child but is recognized by the emperor and becomes the first prince. They get engaged and she becomes a princess. ML has to go and fight the zerg cause a new queen was born so a war is about to break out. He goes, almost dies, MC just randomly can feel that he almost dies so she finds a way to be part of the signing troupe to go to the front lines, she randomly can just sing now and her song is uploaded to the internet and becomes a big star overnight (I mean, the reason was that she didn't want people to think she was using underhanded means to visit the ML and messing around, but still..... idk author, it's just like everything goes at this point). Like, not to mention that she was a top student in the first life, even having to calculate her scores so that she doesn't score too high and that she can memorize anything she sees for the first time yet.... she also manages to fail an exam in this story?? Saying she's embarrassed cause it's the first time she ever failed an exam?? but doesn't she have a perfect memory?? How can you still fail if you just attend class everyday and listen? Or like, just read a book once?? Anyways, they meet up for a bit and are happy but... she just goes back... then he's hurt again multiple times for the next 3 years but like, she's not as anxious as the first one??? I mean, it's still where he almost died but why is she so calm now?? Then politics happen, the emperor decides to fight himself instead of giving all the merits to the prince, but then is captured, so ML has to fight again and MC goes with him in disguised, MC beats the zerg queen and they save the emperor. Emperor is too badly hurt to govern and people want ML to ascend to the throne but he refuses and rather travel the universe with MC and that's it. No follow up on who is the emperor now. Oh, and I guess female protagonist met male protagonist at some point and they're contributing to the fight too but not as much as the original storyline due to ML.

And the last chapter was just them traveling then returning to the demon world and then going to grab more territory and that was it. I mean, that was just it, it just ended like that. The demon cub was never mentioned again after leaving story 2 (said it had to sleep for a long time). Mao Tuan wasn't mentioned for most of the ending either. Honestly, after finishing this, I just felt disappointed and that I wasted my time. I mean, there's a way to write this kind of story and then there's this way in which you can just take the cannon fodder out, the male/female protagonists out, and it wouldn't change much. I mean, most of the story have sad backgrounds and I guess that's mainly what the author wanted to portray but in the end, even the MC and ML in real life didn't have too much going for them. I mean, I was much more interested in their real world than the story worlds but there was not much written. Oof, sorry, I wrote too much so I'll just end it here. I just think this could have been much better. It was entertaining at times but ended to hastily and you just had to go with whatever the author throw at you with little to no explanation. Or explanations that don't really make sense. So if you don't think too hard then it's a better story.

Light, easy read. No brain cells needed. No dog blood drama. Almost without conflict. Story revolves around a strong, powerful MC who is a retired demon Lord bored out of her mind and decides to transmigrate into 4 books to pass the time. In each book she is a cannon fodder who just wants to relax and enjoy life but gets entangled with a mysterious character who seems to follow her in each world she goes to. Each world is independent from each other. I finished it in 2 days.... more>> Sweet, fluffy romance. Read just to pass the time. <<less

The story ended too soon, with only four worlds and little focus on the main world. There was potential for more.

The romance is cute but not deeply developed. It’s mostly sweet moments without much tension or buildup.

Overall, this is a light and fluffy read. Good if you want something chill, but don’t expect deep world-building or complex romance.

Honestly it's a fun read. Don't think too hard about it. It's mostly fluffy, sometimes funny, and overall light to read.

Our MC who is a half demon and half human. Her character is brazen and audacious. She does what she wants and eats what she wants. She's super OP so she gets bored in the demon realm. She uses her magic mirror tool to transmigrate into novel worlds (don't ask how she integrates with struggle in the modern/future worlds). Her "system" isn't so much a system as it is the... more>> entity of the magic mirror. And it's very cute.

Our MC doesn't need to satisfy any tasks or missions. The worlds will self correct. MC is just living her life in the different worlds, learning to be human, and experiencing human emotions. Her primary love is food. And she's very at fighting. I saw a review about the singing thing and it wasn't unreasonable in the story - MC is actually quite terrible and has to put in a lot of effort just to learn one song lmao.

Our ML is the same one in every arc. Each of the arcs aren't too bad! But you can clearly tell the author spent more time on some than others - not just regarding length but the detail. The ending was a bit abrupt but the MC and ML's original world seem to be more of a sidenote anyways. The primary focus is on MC and ML's relationship.

The extra was cute. It's about MC and ML returning to their OG world and having a baby. But honestly, I would have preferred an extra regarding the mirror spirit system or the tag along baby demon that appeared in arc2. <<less

Well, I did feel it ended abruptly. But I guess it would have dragged otherwise. I would have liked more about the actual world. You never really get much of their interaction there.

I would have like to see her more interested in the world's shes in like the first one. Maybe trying different careers. I did feel a bit draggy in the last arc and couldn't wait to move on but it just ended. I felt it could explore things more. Ok read to pass the time, but probably not... more>> something I would rave about. <<less
