It's a fun and short story about a female ghost (MC) who got struck by lightening and became human again. The MC was a fierce ghost and even after becoming human again, still retains her ghostly nature (i.e. Wanting to sleep in a coffin, scared of Taoists, etc.). She's pretty OP cause she can beat any ghost and is able to eat their resentment. After eating a ghost, it seems she absorbs their aura and becomes more ghostly. The story is mainly about her trying to find ways to make money to find her way back home to her pit full of treasures and her encounters along the way with lots of side characters. She also doesn't remember who she was before being a ghost and forgot a lot of other things that doesn't get resolved until the very end.

I think the author wanted a more light hearted tone with this story, but there are also pretty heavy backstories as well. There are elements I didn't really like too much but none that were glaring issues. Although, I think the author isn't that great at describing certain things so sometimes I got confused while reading. And the world building isn't the best but also not the worst. Unfortunately, there is also no romance : (but I think the handsome monk who saved MC when she was a ghost is an unofficial OTP. The side stories and side characters were very good and well-written. They actually accompany the MC throughout the whole novel. The ending was ok, it's a bit hastily wrapped up with a time skip and it ended very abruptly. I would have loved for a little more of the story but I guess then author wanted to end it when the MC achieved her goal. There were some extra chapters but I couldn't find them to read so maybe they might have given a more satisfying ending. Overall, the novel throughout was pretty entertaining. Sometimes the way the author described certain things was too repetitive (i.e. How much everyone is scared of MC over and over again) but it gets better at the end. I think if you're looking for something with no CP and about a OP female ghost then you should give this a try. <<less
