Good novel but gets repetitive and boring later on

This novel has an evil MC but he's too apathetic and lacks emotions, not in terms of morality but him as a person. He has no hobbies, no clear goal to speak of, which makes this boring to read. Its a masterpiece MC is freaking awesome with all his mind blowing means and battle power its thousand times better then those tr*sh protagonists that call themselves Demon emperor and such.

The MC is very rational and most importantly his freaking cool and manipulative he always keeps everything under control and crushes his enemies although thay cant even be qualified to be called an enemy at most Leeks.

so he turns out to have mu*dered his future wife on the night of her wedding after using and abusing her then she comes back to the past with hatred and the will to revenge but oh how can she expose his secret that will literally destroy him, although he did every evil to her she still pitied him and didn't want the world to turn against him... well I said ok maybe she is a loyal one and the author is about to write a masterpiece about love and hatred and such, but as I read on I couldn't help but say (f*ck this fake Japanese shit) there is no depth at all to her and all the other female characters all of them are always attracted to the MC without a single reason and absolutely loyal no matter what he does or did, what infuriates me the most is that those female characters that always are absolutely loyal to the MC betray or even try to take down the Male protagonists that are their original lovers at the first possible chance like the first girl in the story it's just infuriating how the girls are either blindly in love with MC without reason or absolute biches that become blindly in love with the MC for no reason

Now with the antagonists or the side characters generally all of them are idiots that the MC toy with as he likes.. but I don't know what I hate the most them being idiots or the MC "speculating" everything as if he is reading the story with us and basing his speculation on no evidence at all and saying this is the only possibility so it's true while there are literally millions of other possibilities but of course he is too "intelligent" to see them then he looks at the other characters and says they they are too s*upid to think this deep, And I remember this one chapter that he was imprisoning a young master while his guardians could find them at any time but he was taking his sweet time playing with him while the author is telling us although he is doing that he wouldn't be caught unlike those main characters in novels because his plan is too perfect with no loopholes and because he is not braindead like them, but if you saw his so called plan there is so many things that could go wrong that they are uncountable and...I don't really want to continue on this topic because there are too many things to be said here and I absolutely hate this type of "intelligent" MC with "amazing" plots that no one can see through and everything is always calculated so I'll stop here because it's frustrating <<less

Yeah, he's a villain. He doesn't try to justify himself. He doesn't try to self reason. He doesn't even try to be a good guy. Its better than almost every other xian xia MC out there because at least he admits he is a villain and does villainous things, instead of pretending to be the "good guy" while proceeding to do the most evil sh*t ever.

He's a bonafide villain MC, who does evil for the sake of evil (and points).

Anyways, if you can ignore shallowness of the the harem (of course you can, you are a web novel reader), then its a pretty good villain MC xian xia story where the MC is an actual villain. <<less

I'm really enjoying the story and the whole concept is really good. For me this ranks in top 3 stories with villain protagonists, or atleast protagonists that don't shy from 'receiving' negative karma. I mean the story had a very good start and it got me engaged right away, I would've read the manhwa, but I feel like it is a waste to read it since the story has progressed so far with the novel.

;Things in this story is hard to imagine in your head and all the descriptions are disgustingly exaggerated and feel very pretentious. Not a bad story but it's really grating to read the writing style, it's hard to imagine and enjoy the story because of the way author describe everything in the novel. Descriptions of everything in this novel is too verbose and doesn't make sense such as characters appearance, places, gestures etc.

The author will describe things in the most ret*rded way possible that it doesn't even make sense anymore. The word "Describe" is to depict. But in this story author use of descriptions makes it harder to imagine what was being describe. ❗For example❗

Not to mention author keeps repeating descriptions of the characters again and again to make the chapter longer but even after hundreds of chapters I still have no idea the exact descriptions or appearance of characters, 90% of characters I don't even know their hairstyle or eye color because author likes to describe using cryptic words. So just don't bother with the descriptions, just imagine whatever you want. So if you hate how chinese authors describe characters like "Jade-like skins, Phoenix-like eyes and sword-like eyebrows" then you should expect worse in this story. The descriptions here is way way way worse than those novels. Author even use "Willow-like eyebrows, Divine-like visage, Lips like a rose, Calm forehead, Ancient eyes, peacock-like hair, eyes as if they're plucked from the stars etc" I forgot many of them but lots of new descriptions were invented by the author and I don't even know what the fvck it even means. 'Star vein' is just one of them.

And worse, the author sometimes say so much flowerly words but forgot what the thing that was being describe like this line for example 'Bunch of green strings flows, fluttering in the void' the author is basically just talking about a green hair being blown by the winds but the word 'hair' isn't even there. ---

That aside the plot of the story is alright, I enjoy the schemes and manipulations in the story. Interaction between characters is also fun. It's just really hard to enjoy because the verbose and inconsistent descriptions that ruin the immersion. But if you plan to read this i'll list what to expect:

🔻MC is the cunning "Villain" of the novel fighting against "Dumb xianxia Protagonists". There are also female version of "Xianxia Protagonists"

🔻Side characters possess reason and some are also smart. There are a mix of Dumb and Smart characters but both are interesting.
🔻MC Guilt-trips his girls.
🔻Faceslapping. Flexing. Show-offs.
🔻Bad Cultivation Elements: Chunni skill names that doesn't really explain what the skills is about and author also refuse to explain what it is used for or what it can do. Plot holes and confusing description of skills. Specifically the Logic is really bad from talents, mystical arts, techniques, bloodlines etc. This is by far the Worse chinese cultivation that i've read. (This is the Kryptonite or Achilles Heel of the story, so don't bother understanding the concept of powers here or you'll be disappointed.)

🔻The beginning 50 chaps of the story is a bit bad because MC's character had lots of inconsistency but inconsistencies disappear after 100+ chapters and it gets better. So read this story for character interactions not for it's cultivation. PS: But of course the pretentiousness of the story never gets better. Read it without much expectations and you might just enjoy it.

To me, r*pe is a no go, or a deal breaker, call it what you want. Once a r*pe scene or notion of it happened during the story, to me the story is dead, no matter how good it was until now. Although the author doesn't go into details about the r*pe, it is mentioned: "The successive generations of holy maidens of the Hall of the Human Ancestors must all remain pure". That's how the author glosses over the r*pe event.

The point is that it happened and I cannot stand such thing. Regardless who it happens to, heroine, villain, even if it is to the most shitty annoying character that would deserve to be punished, I can't stand it. Even if this is a fictional work, I still can't stand it.

Even if the r*pe event is mentioned as something that happened in the past, outside the story, and used as a trauma device or anything else, it's an out as well.

The only time I can accept r*pe scenes or notion of r*pe is when the character is about to be r*ped and is saved before the line is crossed. The line I am talking about is when the penetration happens. If the saviour is one moment too late, the story is beyond saving to me.

(My rant is still not over ig lmao) Perfectly fine MC rends incapable by the hands of NPCs with b**bies, by that I mean they have no other trait than them being women. MC messes up, gets his ass almost exposed, gets slammed around... I would have found females cool if they did stg worthwile to achieve that yk. Let me tell you this, writing quality is the biggest thing holding this back, and it's a huge problem.

Inconsistencies are everywhere. It's like author either can't make up his mind or has a mental disability that makes him forget stuff he wrote a chapter ago.

Expectedly, there are lots and lots and lots of fillers. I didn't mind it much since I've gotten used to that kind of thing, this is a chinese fiction after all. If fillers are annoying to you, you should retreat. This might be the fiction with the most fillers I've seen this year. Thankfully I've already mastered the art of skim reading lol.

There are lots of other things I want to touch upon, but honestly, I won't waste my time any further.

Edit: @seabell you're absolutely right by the way. I'm the fated villain isn't satire. It's ridicilous how they praise this as if it's a smart play on the tropes lol.

This novel is interesting at the start, but as you kept on reading it, it just starts to get worse and worse.

This novel has the problem where a character is introduced just for this purpose and then abandoned just after he/she is used up.

The MC is someone who is useless without the system. Everything he achieved and does comes from the system. He doesn't even try to raise his own cultivation or practice his own martial arts. All he does is rely on the system to find Favored Children and... more>> get rid of them and use system money to buy upgrades. His only personality is being cold and cool, or at least the author tried to make him so. The way he solve problems is boring as heck. All he does is use some over-powered item or ability or fking mind control his enemies.

The description for the appearance of the characters are horrendous and lazy. There's even this one instance where the author literally just copy and pasted the exact same description from the previous chapter. This novel does not feel like it's written care or passion at all, it felt like it's written for the sake of following a popular on-going trend.

The characters doesn't make sense at all, you'd think that the prodigious daughter from a famous family would be intelligent and interesting, but she instead became an innocent little girl who trust everyone that's good to her. And the girls all started falling in love with the MC just because he's being nice and cool.

There's also the fights, but they are so anti-climatic and similar to each other it can be summarized as "Ah, the MC used this and that and the opponent got crushed."

To shortly summarize this novel, it'll be "a generic brain dead power fantasy". I guess you can read it if you enjoy those types of novels. <<less

The start is a wonderfully entertaining satire on the tropes common to Chinese cultivation novels while remaining a fun read. Then the Upper Realm is reached and it loses it's steam much like most cultivation novels. Things that could've made interesting scenes are glazed over, others receive more attention than deserved, in novel pacing goes out the window, explanations are repeated too often, along with many other nitpicks.

This is my second time reading this novel, and it's been a few years since I first read it. At the start of my second rodeo, I was wondering why I dropped this novel in the first place. Well, it makes so much sense after reading 80 chapters and skipping 3-5 chapters for the next 300+ chapters.

We have an MC who the author pretends to make all calculating and smart against old folks, as well as the so-called sons of heaven. At the beginning, you may be intrigued by this... more>> novel since the MC is relatively emotionless and prioritises opportunities over personal relationships, which we rarely see in this genre. But after reading past the second or third arc, I realized that something feels off.

First, our MC, who lived on earth for less than 100 years (99 %+ probability), can continuously outsmart every single person he meets. I'm all for a smart MC, but having someone considered a baby go against old monsters millions of years old and always being able to scheme against them is total BS. From what I've read so far, the MC so far has a 100% success rate at achieving everything he does, regardless of difficulty. With his opponents becoming brain-dead, overestimating him, or neglecting him, which causes their downfall.

Second, is the fact that no one can put two and two together that our MC is the inheritor of the Ancient Demonic Arts (or whatever it's called). Like my brother has been at the scene of every publicly known encounter with the Demonic Inheritor, and always has some huge involvement in the matter. Add that on to his unexplainable rise in cultivation, it's practically a checkmate. Yet in the novel, nobody questions the MC except for that fellow female transmigrator from Earth who somewhat has a brain. Note that it's not because they are afraid of offending the Immortal Gu Clan, it's the fact that not a single person mentions this. Even though MC may have different identities as an inheritor of some immortal art from a revered immortal, not a single person questioning the validity of getting the inheritance stolen is pure s*upidity.

Third, the more I read this novel, the more I begin to feel that this is the same trope as the regular tr*sh like wuxia/xianxia with the young masters. All I have to do is change the labels, and I essentially get the same pattern. Sons of Heaven --> Young Master, Villain MC --> Hero MC. The whole story system is essentially the same thing, with the minor change being that our MC started in a very well-off family. But everyone is still brainless, and every opponent has stronger backing.

In conclusion, this novel is like a glass cannon. <<less

They've not only pulled the ever-hilarious 'user-select: none' trick so their actual readers can't do something as heinous as select text, but just in-case you're an evil css-editing degenerate, they've also set up like four or five levels of redundant color settings so that you can't see what text is selected.

It might ask him to suppress somebody, and then on a whim our MC will toss in a familial extermination on top just for funsies.

There's nothing inherently wrong with an unlikable as*hole of an MC, but I'm still not sure what the point of this is.

It's an OP-McOp-of-OPness MC with a system that makes him even more OP when he's a minor a**hole, which he would do anyway because the MC is the biggest a**hole. He just goes around being OP and getting more OP while being an as*hole for fun.

What's the point of this? The MC's power is just a constant asspull of OPness, so that's not the point. The plot is just constant low-effort cliches intentionally, and MC is so OP it doesn't matter even harder. The MC doesn't have any internal conflict or any kind of interesting character, so that's not it. Anybody around the MC just exists to be manipulated by him when he's bored, so no meaningful relationships there. It doesn't even serve as a tr*shy vehicle for faceslapping, as almost everybody immediately bows down to the MC anyway. And even if the MC diddo any faceslapping, he's so utterly unlikable I don't think it would do much.

So, yeah. I have no idea what the point of this novel existing is.

Based on the relatively high score, I've been pretty patient with it so far, but a potential purpose only seems to be getting further away. <<less
