Aight, let’s give this novel some love I think it deserves.

Yeah, it’s incredibly similar to Transformation or Death. I’ve read a few recently that are. This novel is surely one of them. But it differs in that it feels a bit more light on the heart. ToD’s themes can get a little heavy, and the atmosphere even drearier. It’s like seeing someone spiral further down into the abyss and you can only watch it happen. This one? At least now, not quite the case. Call it bland, sure, the characters... more>> are not as well fleshed out, but it feels easier to read. The MC doesn’t seem to have been sent on a su*cide mission with no turning back. The girls don’t live in constant agony since there’s more than just the handful of them in this novel. This novel seems to clear up all the “problems” ToD has in regards to the magical girl world. Not everyone wants to read a Puella Magi Madoka story all the time. And I think this novel keeps it interesting enough while also being more fun in the traditional sense to read.

As for the case of redundancy, you have to remember in the first chapter the premise of this story line is that it was a failed novel world to begin with. The original author failed with this work. A failed work most likely has imperfect logic. Don’t use the method of rationale to explain the munchkin start. The premise of this novel is not like the self sacrificing guardian in ToD, but more like an omnipotent watcher that safeguards the world. (As for whether there is a plot twist in the future; anything can happen) if the novel is supposed to be easier to consume than ToD, then the munchkin start is supposed to facilitate that. There is no inhumane suffering if there is no need for power growth. The MC instead faces slightly less challenges than the one in ToD, namely the amnesiac background (albeit without the identity crisis), and the miserable fate of the magical girls.

Is the quality up to par with ToD? No. That novel far surpasses in quality, with deeper themes, heavier subject matter, consistent world logic, subtle branching plot lines, etc. The characters are more complex and the overarching sense of futility in the face of reality makes for a novel that’s one in a hundred.

But is this novel bad? No. By comparison, perhaps. But each novel should be dealt with on a case by case basis. What’s the purpose of a light novel? To be light. This novel fulfills just that. It’s easy to read, yet still fun in its own way. The characters here have their own troubles, but aren’t clouded in the same negative death ray that shadows their counterparts in ToD. A similar plot trajectory, but not so burdened with the misery of fate.

I just wish that more consideration could be given before sending out the reviews. I really do think this one deserves a shot. Even if it’s not the same quality, I think it’s a fun story and I enjoy it.

Overall? I’d give it a 7.0/10. Better than most but not nearly as good as the best in the category. It lacks the depth which I mentioned before, but enough of the fundamental story elements are there to maintain the structure. <<less

Excuse me... But is not the premise of this novel redundant?

The magical girls are not going to die before they meet the final boss, so he doesn't need to interfere at all until the final fight to save them.

Here is the question, if he is already OP why not finish the final boss from the start?

... more>> And if the "author" of this weeb tone can make him that OP easily, then why not make the magical girls OP from the start? After all, they only fail at the last fight.

Hard to understand. <<less

I'll be completely honest. This novel feels like a copy of "Transformation or Death". The only difference is that the MC and the magical girls are dull as hell with barely any personality. I won't judge it too hard just yet tho since it only has 19 chapters.

I'm gonna keep reading for now maybe it will get better.
