I passed the second stage of the bar exam, but a series of misfortunes prevented me from becoming a legal professional.

After that, I toiled my whole life, only to collapse from overwork.

“Do you still want to become a legal professional?”

“…Actually, you know, I wanted to be a great prosecutor.”

“That’s good. Then give it a try.”

A conversation in my fading consciousness.

The next moment, I found myself possessing the body of a third-rate villain from my favorite webtoon, “In the Law School.”

But…

“This is too easy?”

The legal problems of this world are way too easy for me.

Pretty strong start - this novel has a lot of potential. You don't really see a lot of modern to (seemingly) modern transmigrations, especially a law-academy novel.

The characters are good and the protagonist is a bit vanilla but interesting enough.

The plot progresses pretty well, and the translation is fabulous as expected from Fenrir translations.

I am interested to see more of the world building. Will recommend 8.5/10

This is a very enjoyable take on the initial premise of the story! While the beginning of the story is a bit weighted down by legal jargon that just barely didn't fly right over my head, the author seems to find their legs and made strides to make the story understandable without sacrificing quality of content.

The main character has a relatable and interesting personality where it counts, and is fun to read where he isn't.

I don't have any real experience in anything like this- which might either speak to my... more>> lack of knowledge or the novels uniqueness. Either way, it's a fascinating read.

The meta knowledge the MC has is just enough that they can work hard to use said information, which lends itself well to the story. This is something where the meta knowledge greatly increases the quality of the plot, unlike many other stories where in which it feels artificial.

All moments of "future knowledge BS" type moves the main character uses feels genuinely earned and feel like somebody cleverly leveraging the little information they have to maximum theoretical gain.

While this story probably won't ever wow you with moments that will get your heart racing, I was never disappointed in the slightest with the story. Instead, I managed to be continually pleasantly surprised while reading.

I couldn't possibly ask for anything more in the story in the current runtime, and I don't expect the author to fumble future engagements.

Give this a read, because if you can handle the at times verbose legal sections, you can't go wrong with "I Became a Law School Genius." <<less

Good read so far. Writing is good and its thought provoking. Might not be for everyone, but it makes me wanna do my school work so that is good. Wouldn't be surprised if it ended up with a great storyline, but for now its p much studying and some light scheming. I don't agree that he is emotionally stunted for his supposed age. He reincarnated into the body of someone around 23-24 and he just about acts like it. I think he might've been around 30ish when he reincarnated, which... more>> sometimes shows through. It's not like those novels where a 30 y/o reincarnates into a 12 year old and acts like a 12 y/o.

Overall good read very enjoyable and fun 5/5 <<less

Some slow passages, but overall an interesting idea.

There are plenty of villain (ess) stories with possession or reincarnation, but this one stands out to me.

The protagonist constantly drives a compromise between self-actualisation (fulfilling the dream of practicing law which he couldn't in his original life), staying out of the way of the main plot (not taking ownership of it or needing to avoid death flags because the character is only a minor villain), and still acting within his personal ethical values with his future knowledge of the story.

That's as far... more>> as the main meta level goes - on the surface there's the everyday life of studying law and interacting with the other law students and some professors, with enough discussion of laws to maintain immersion without overdoing it and making the content overly dry. For readers with a strong interest in law this may not have sufficient depth, but I thought it was quite accessible to more casual readers (and with a few exceptions, it was translated well enough to understand most legal text excerpts as a non-native English speaker; it's possible that the other translations are also accurate, but I haven't studied law, much less in English).

Even almost fifty chapters in, only a few months passed, yet I found myself unable to put it down and binged all the way to the latest released chapter. Hopefully it'll keep going and continue to be translated for a long time. <<less

I like the idea, I've been wanting to read more novels like this. Though I gave it a 3 stars because of the writing. Considering there was a lot of internal narration, the story was a lot of telling than showing. It was especially hard to read since the law subject of the story substantially fill the text already. I think it could have been done better. The main protagonist also lacked maturity from what I think would come from an older person who spent his life caring for their... more>> sibling. I stop at ch10 so take this review with a grain of salt. If you it's still interested then, the idea is still pretty unique since I've seen some law related novels that focused more on getting revenge or fighting a big corporation villain. I like the idea of a dude just trying to study and achieve his dream. <<less
