I became a miserably weak aristocrat in the web novel ‘SSS-Class Knight’.

With a body that can drop at a moment’s notice, no less.

‘Let’s live for now. Let’s fight on.’

I have to survive, even without knowing the ending.

Alright this isn't bad.. In fact, it's very enjoyable and a bit laid back.

Now, everyone's comparing the novel to TCF which to be honest SHOULDN'T be a BIG DEAL. From what I've noticed from Korean novels is that they basically copy the plots or concepts a lot from one another, Ive literally read a lot of 'Tower climbing' and 'S classes' based novels from Korea and have felt them to be too similar and the concept overused... Really, so I'm not surprised that there's a novel similar to TCF cos... more>> there's always someone who could be inspired by another authors work.

Now, the review: its definitely good at best its a 4 out of 5, clearly it's at the point where u can't get bored and are always interested in the plot.

The author obviously has made sure that the focus is on the MC and the plot does not stray too much. Also the original MC is a typical Good guy, righteous and all about justice, and he's a knight so it's not surprising that he goes along with what our MC wants because he sees the injustice done on the MC and wants to help.

The butler is actually the most amusing of the two, his relationship with the MC is chaotic (lol) In a good way.

Still to early to give a definite review so I hope it doesn't disappoint <<less

a bit contrived, but not a bad way to pass the time. MC has a charisma irresistible to everyone from the contrast between his sickly body and his strong drive to achieve his ambitions. I don't think anyone has a particularly well-reasoned motivation to help him--especially his butler-- nor does the MC (as of c14) have a compelling reason to want to achieve his goal. But as long as you can ignore all that, it's a good light read.

Translation was somewhat decent at the start, true.

Around chapter 26~ or so, it became much worse.

You can easily notice the artifacts of machine translation, understanding what is being said sometimes is hard, sometimes outright impossible.

Reading till chapter 50 didn't bring me any joy, it required actual effort.

3hrs into the book and he beats the mini bosses. A/K theiving family. Probably one of the dumbest scenes because everything is so over powered due to his helpers. The fight scenes aren't really well written in general. It feels like there's a list of what happens and someone is explaining the list. Maybe this book has more pictures? I'm not sure. So far not a bad book. But that one arc just made me worried about the whole seires because it was so flat.

After reading ascendance of a bookworm it ruins a lot of light novel writing because you realize sometimes great storytelling needs half way decent writing. So it fleshes out those good ideas. Instead of those ideas feeling like a list. I'm not sure if it's the translation issue or the writing style. But I think that book ruined me.

so far I'm going to update this if I end up keep going but it's a solid 3.5 of a book. It reminds me a lot of bookworm but without the writing strength. I'm hope'n for better military though and we shall see. I respect the staying on sickly task and the blood stuff but honestly, the lavish discription of coughing up blood and the dry descriptions of fight scenes don't actually match. I'd be happy if it was 1 to 1 better job bring up the quailty of the fight scenes.

Main reason why it's 3.5 is just a lack of translation quailty or writing quailty. And not that the author can't do it but that the author could but for some reason there's like this speed through on action moments for some reason. Extremely thin writing in those sections makes no sense. It's not a bad book it's passable but that weirdness is so loud it's distracting sometimes.

I kept going a few chapters more and the excution isn't great. I just couldn't keep going even though I love military army building and kingdom building books combine and there's so few of those. I just couldn't do it. Nothing to really hook into as a human being. He just didn't have a redeeming moment where I'm like. Yeah, I like this guy. His bulter was a more interesting character <<less

I just started reading the novel but I don't understand why tr*sh Of Count's Family is mentioned here. Some things are similar as far as I understand from the comments but there are things I want to add. First of all, Cale is not sick like the main character Ruel here. The ancient power with healing power he gained has a side effect that allows him to heal by vomiting blood. Although it is mentioned that he has a weak body because he basically does not work his body, this... more>> does not show that he is sick. Secondly, his butler Ron is an assassin. I don't know how much you read the novel, but this is not an unnecessary and absurd detail. Since his own family was destroyed in the Eastern continent, Ron escapes with his son Beacrox and hides in Cale's father's region and works as their butler. This shows that the assassin butler situation is completely different in both novels. <<less
