Towards the end of the 21st century, the top ranking player in the first VRRPG decides to solo kill the final boss after it becomes clear that no other player would reach the point of being able to fight it together. After that, the game company shuts down the server, but offers that player to beta test the next installment, which he accepts, and he chooses to keep the same character customisation.

He then finds himself in the game... more>> world turned reality, in the body of his (female) character, at roughly 6 years old. Naturally he'll be able to regain his powers eventually. But his purpose? To nurture the "players" (people summoned from Earth) to the point where there are some that can fight the final boss together. For that goal, he tries to become an "NPC" who will be admired by the players and to only reveal that he was a player upon defeating the final boss together.

Ultimately, the protagonist is a lonely person looking for peers. Because of her personality and skill that allowed becoming powerful enough to beat the final boss in the first place, she's quite eccentric, but generally adored by others.

The overall plot isn't particularly exciting because it's basically a consequence of holding back or in some cases even arranging events to result in a certain developments. She still uses her power within her crafted persona (and occasionally beyond what that persona should be capable of), but if she had actually set out to resolve all major problems on her own, she could have. So while she generally holds positive values, she does not prioritise them over her personal interests.

The novel's main strength lies in the comedy derived from the MC's personality and skewed common sense, which neither aligns with the "native" characters, nor the regular players of the original game.

The other characters are solid enough to be proper counterparts, both for humour and occasionally even emotional moments and backstories.

I don't want to end up rambling too much about details of the setting, but it's decent. Not entirely medieval and with a bunch of fantasy elements, and the game elements don't really align with what would be considered a regular RPG these days, but it's not quite as bad as some other novels' RPGs that make you think "if that's how unfair the game is, nobody would actually play it". Parts of it are covered by implying handwaving like "because it's the first VRRPG" or "because it was originally another world to begin with". The power progression isn't defined with perfect clarity and there are no skills or status windows (or at least not for the MC, and for the "users" who at least get system messages, there's no full status window posted into the novel, so it either doesn't exist or it's not shown).

Overall it's been fairly enjoyable, but not to the point that I would binge without rest, so it did take me a few days to get through these nearly 200 chapters.

Lastly, I ended up reading the "official" translation on Novelpia, but I can't say that it's any better than the normal fan or AI translations you see elsewhere. Names change between chapters, pronouns and perspectives are occasionally wrong, occasional artifacts from machine or AI translation, etc.. No glaring grammatical errors, but that's about it. <<less

It's a novel that isn't heavy in content, but it has an intensity of its own. The plot isn't very complex, yet it's engaging, and every character feels full of life. I really love it.

Perfect for light, enjoyable reading in any situation especially after a long stressful day at work.

Especially satisfying is how every villain gets what they deserve within just a few chapters. It really makes me feel like the author genuinely loves their own work, without dragging the story out unnecessarily just to make more money.

One of the things I really like about this novel is how it handles an overpowered protagonist. Sisilia is absurdly strong, yet she's restrained. She doesn't just rampage through enemies without consequences. Even though she could end fights instantly, doing so would lead to collateral damage and loss of innocent lives. She values human life, not in a saintly way, but with compassion.... more>> It's rare to see an MC who acknowledges the weight of their power instead of just steamrolling everything.

Another thing that makes Sisilia stand out is that she has no grand ambitions, nor does she seek an ordinary life. She doesn't fight for ideals, she fights because she enjoys the experience of living. She finds amusement in the interactions, emotions, struggles, and victories that come with life. She doesn't crave fame or power (though she craves for money, because even she can't escape poverty, and she easily gets scammed), nor does she belittle herself. In a way, she's humble, yet undeniably confident (she's a narcissist). Her eccentricity makes the story refreshing, even with its clichés.

Sisilia's roleplay as a perfect Sword Maiden is honestly one of the funniest aspects of the novel. Outwardly, she's cold and stoic, but deep down, she's soft. Then there's her bratty, mischievous, ruthless, and random-bullshit-go side. She even has a weird obsession of being praised by newbies. She's a walking contradiction, and that's what makes her so entertaining to follow.

She's also a true gamer. The novel includes pop culture and game references, including Dark Souls, which fits her playstyle perfectly. She even lied about having a tragic backstory to justify killing demons, when the real reason is just to level up. The way she approaches demon hunting is basically MMORPG Among Us mode. No system, no special ability, just raw deduction and skill. She can tell a demon apart in three minutes and executes them on the spot. The people around her? Shocked. Then double shocked when she's right. She isn't arrogant, just incredibly confident, with the skill to back it up.

I won't dive too deep into worldbuilding since there aren't many chapters yet, but the side characters? They're great. There's a lot of them, and each one feels distinct. They're not just background NPCs; they have their own personalities, goals, and actions that naturally affect the story. There are some misunderstandings and convenient plot devices, but the author keeps them balanced instead of overusing them.

This novel isn't just a munchkin power fantasy, it's more like a slice-of-life with mystery and weird antics. The character dynamics, especially the father-daughter relationship between Sisilia and Cairon, are really enjoyable.

Despite being compassionate toward people, Sisilia is ruthless toward demons. This isn't some morally grey thing, it's because demons are demons. They're like the ones in Frieren: deceptive, manipulative, and dangerous, with unique abilities that make them terrifying. In fact, Sisilia reminds me a lot of Frieren herself, cold, stoic, hiding her true power, merciless against demons, and slowly growing through her journey. The difference is that Sisilia is already emotional, she just hides it behind her Sword Maiden roleplay.

PS. I found it hilarious that Sisilia made a sword technique that resembles a Domain Expansion. There's even the guaranteed hit effect. There are even authorities and divine protections (Blessings) like Re:Zero... Authority of Deception? Blessing of Elasticity? It's really diverse. <<less

It is fun. The tone is mostly cutesy light-hearted fun. An OP AF cute girl protagonist tries to appear as a reasonably strong sword princess NPC to be adored by future players because it sounds cool. With many notable knights being quirky idiots doting on cute MC, and other more serious characters focusing on main storyline while occasionally being the quirky idiots themselves.

Yes, there are major conflicts/storylines behind all that and MC actually work toward setting up for the future major conflicts. But, she is quite a bit whimsical about... more>> it because she is OP AF. She just wanted to be the cute and cool sword princess to guide cute newbies to clear the challenges. MC is more worried about ruining the characters, or not having good newbies than actually defeating the end game crisis. <<less

This novel is really fun. The main character is a veteran player in a dying game who, after finishing the game alone, gets transported into its world by the goddess. Reborn as a six-year-old girl, she decides to join the knights. After a ten-year timeskip, she waits for the day the game's story starts, when new players show up.

The best part of the story is the main character's carefree attitude. She does whatever she wants and enjoys her new life. Her love for hunting demons makes her create a sad... more>> backstory about her family being killed, just to give a reason to fight them. She also dreams of acting as the strongest sword maiden, so she hides her power to avoid rising in rank too fast, as that would change her nickname—something she really wants to keep.

Her interactions and inner thoughts are funny, as her calm and impressive outside look is completely different from her playful and selfish inner world. This mix makes her character charismatic and fun to read.

In the end, I suggest ignoring any thoughts you have from the plain title and description. Try this novel out, and you might really enjoy it. <<less

This is great! Ignore the generic title-this story is truly excellent. The concept of the MC being an NPC is exactly what I've been looking for. The MC's slightly narcissistic personality keeps the story from feeling stiff and adds a layer of humor.

What I like the most is the interaction between the MC and Cairon, her adoptive father. Their conversations are absolute gems-MC's somewhat idiotic remarks contrast perfectly with Cairon's serious demeanor. For example, when Cairon calls MC to his office, MC immediately suspects an arranged marriage and threatens to... more>> run away. Cairon denies it with a reaction like, "I would never marry you off to anyone, " which adds to his overprotective fatherly side.

The novel feels refreshing and delivers a solid medieval atmosphere. The world-building is well-done, especially for a Korean isekai novel (not to be dismissive). Action fans will enjoy this as well-MC doesn't hesitate to kill when necessary. She would have killed the prince without a second thought if the prince hadn't confirmed his betrayal beforehand.

The mystery is genuinely difficult to predict-I was completely misled about the real traitor.

Also Also as for the GenderBender tag I am pretty sure authors do it in stories to give the Protag a reason for having masculine Leanings and being cool even though they are female or not have an interest in men romantically so yeah as for most Genderbenders after the 1st chapter it's a useless tag
