A Wicked Witch, trailed by vengeful spirits and curses.

“Hey, Tin Can! Did I not tell you to stop causing trouble?!”

A Courageous Lion, descended from the bloodline of a hero.

“Uh, no matter what, this seems like a bit much, no? Huh? Whatever doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger? Um, Sir Knight? Sir Knight!?”

A Scarecrow, sealed away for pursuing the taboo.

“Despite appearances, I’m quite capable from the shoulders up. Below that, you say? Let’s see, if I had to give a cold self-assessment… perhaps an emergency shield?”

A Solitary Tin Knight, forever barred from human warmth.

[The ‘Tin Knight’ urges everyone to initiate the boss battle, saying the cut scene is over!]

This is a cruel, fairytale-like adventure story told by twisted protagonists.

…Maybe!

Update: I recommend waiting until at least 200+ chapters are out. The story is decent but the pacing is rather slow, and the current arc (that's not locked behind a paywall by Genesis, at least) isn't very interesting so it's not worth waiting for the next chapter to be unlocked.

So far, this is a fairly amusing dark fantasy take on The Wizard of Oz. Our nameless protagonist is reincarnated (? Kinda vague, he's also shown controlling a computer) as the titular Tin Man. Dorothy is a clever necromancer apprentice of... more>> the Wicked Witch of the East, who stumbles upon the Tin Knight and makes a contract with him. Since he still has the soul of an Earthling who insists on adhering to story tropes and characterizations, he comes off like a lunatic (he's also not shy about brutally mu*dering anyone he deems as evil at the drop of a hat). They set off on a quest to gather the 8 McGuffins that were requested by the king, all the while slaughtering anyone unfortunate enough to interfere in their quest.

Translation: As usual with Genesis, the translation is stiff and awkward to read. It wouldn't surprise me if this was a machine translation. It's line-by-line, as if robots (or Google) are reading a script. <<less

This is a crazy novel very losely based on the Wizard of Oz universe, with an interesting narrative choice of alternating between two viewpoints: the omniscient viewpoint of the narrator inside the "story" and the viewpoint of the "player" manipulating the tin knight behind his computer.

The gamer is "you" and "your" experience of the adventure is necessarily different from the one the tin knight actually lives, but the two "yous" have one thing in common: they are playing around and having a lot of fun, seeing all this as a... more>> game (from the tin knight's point of view, he is reincarnated into a game world) !

Because of this setting the level of seriousness is close to 0. The witch, Dorothea, is on a serious quest, but, at the end of the day, she's only doing it because she doesn't want to get scolded by her master... Adel (the lion) is also on a serious quest to reclaim her family's territory and honor, but she becomes crazier by the minute, following the teachings of the tin knight, and she forgets her goals most of the time. And the tin knight... has never taken anything seriously to begin with. The "scarecrow" is a scholar enjoying the ride... So, yeah, so far the story is just a very funny and lighthearted series of adventures with a crazy cast of completely mismatched traveling companions.

Each chapter is fun.

I'm still wondering why that harem tag exists (the author himself/herself p that tag on the novel), though, because the only "male" is the tin knight and he's litteraly a magical doll made of pipes contained in a full-plate armor... But romance is really not the point here, so who cares! <<less
