I became a squeaky-eyed extra in a romantic comedy.

I tried to collect the defeated heroines in advance to prevent a disastrous future in the sequel…

But the original romantic comedy ended at the same time as the possession began.

As suggested by the title, this story is about a protagonist who heals the losing heroines and turns their feelings from their crush, who rejected them, to him, collecting them as one would collect Pokémon. Essentially, the MC ends up with the "leftover" women. To add to the difficulties, the MC possesses an side character that is disliked by the heroines due to his previous actions. So, if you enjoy a softer NTL (Netori) story, this might be for you.

Here is the basic storyline: We have four heroines, and the... more>> original protagonist chose the female knight as their lover. The rest consist of a female rabbit, an elf girl, and a noble girl. The setting takes place after graduation, so the academy arc has already concluded. The MC want avoid a bad ending that occurs due to the original protagonist's choices.

At first, the MC does not want to get involved with the rejected heroines, but due to the goddess's interference with the system, every time the MC takes action contrary to the goddess's suggestions, he experiences stomach pain. In the end, the MC tries to help the heroines, and slowly they begin to see him in a positive light.

The female rabbit is the easiest to win over. The elf girl is a tsundere, taking a long time for her feelings to change. The same is true for the noble woman, who is prideful. There are also signs that the original protagonist has become corrupted since he was not chosen by the goddess to be an apostle. As a result, you can expect his relationship with the female knight to become strained.

The MC, on the other hand, is reluctantly chosen as an apostle and must save the world. He will embark on adventures with the heroines to uncover a conspiracy and save the world from doomsday. <<less

For the first 15 chapters or so, it was pretty decent, though stereotypical at times. Post-chapter 15 however, translation, which has been fine until then, takes a massive nose dive. It's clear that they're using almost unedited AI translation for this, as the translation suddenly switches over to calling a female character by he/him, referring to her in masculine terms, as well as using ' ' to denote character dialogue when previously " " had been used properly. There's also sentences that are sometimes cut off and fused with other... more>> sentences, making some parts of the translation outright incomprehensible. This is something that happens with most of Leaf Studio's translations, they're fine in the beginning, and then they just stop giving a sh*t one they get the initial clear for unedited MTL so that they're technically abiding by NU's rules.

On top of that... plot wise, the notion of our main character being an extra was basically thrown out. He may be called an "extra" in the original, but in this ones he's been straight up given all the powers of the protagonist from what's been said so far, while the original protagonist is an extra. There's very little difference between the two apart from reputation, and so far the protagonist is fixing his by, no joke, gaslighting, manipulation, and whining like a baby to the original heroines that he's "different now!" Even though it's only been 3 weeks at the point I've read. Truly, he's expecting for everything to be fixed within that timeframe by intentionally sulking and acting like a toxic lover who, when upset, goes, "fine then! I'll just leave you behind then since you hate me oh soooo much!" Even if suspicions or anger towards him is justified. It's genuinely horrible at times. <<less
