It started out really promising. I'd say the first 150 chapters or so were pretty engaging.

But the way the MC keeps interacting with the "harem" is inane. He treats them like children, they act like children, as if they were half as old as they are - instead of acting older, much like a tribal society - especially with all the harshness in that one, likely would have forced to to.

Initially, his priorities where on point - but it very quickly turned into "living a comfortable live, even at the... more>> cost of sentient life". There is little to no character-progression, with a few exceptions, the people in 481 is exactly the same people as in chapter 1. Different clothes, different food, different weapon. Exactly the same person.

Spoiler

Despite Totem Warriors being lauded as THE most important resources in a tribe, bar the Shaman who makes them, and the MC having been such a Shaman since chapter 3-4 or something, at chapter 481, he has done pretty much anything BUT try to create more of them. His most important function, and he has not even tried. More Totem Warriors, more hunters, more food. Instead he is rather sloppily trying to get them to engage in cultivating and husbandry.

The story, by the time I dropped it despite there being more to read (hence the 1 star rating), no longer felt coherent, introducing new inventions, people and plot-points, while rarely expanding upon any of the old ones. <<less

A promisng start but brainrot later. I read the raw version with translate, thats pain in the as5, just wanna know what will hapen.

From heartwarming modern people from earth later he change to psychopath.

He pitted s*aves because he wanted to give the stronger people 3x a day. The s*ave who loses the fight will leave the tribe, even the disabled s*ave who has no legs and hands will be simply driven into the wild. For god's sake I just want to read a slice of life, instead get a modern... more>> psychopath who is thrown into primitive times. I was already suspicious when he tortured the rabbit for the experiment. How the author describes the rabbit suffering is also disgusting, I kinda understand this karen may indeed be a guinea pig, but to torture humans, I have had enough of this sh1t <<less

Really enjoying this, but it is a slow paced novel. Some may not like how slow the pace is which is why I bring it up.

So far in ~30 chapters the MC has only had his initial powerup (going from newly in the world to Shaman/Chief). He has one ability given by the system which is good, but not overly powerful (it took 3 out of 12 daily uses to heal a hand sized wound).

I'm enjoying the slow pace, and looking forward to how this tribe develops.

he even made a umbrella! A foldable umbrella! Is it really necessary?! I meant that hard! Why make foldable umbrella when a normal umbrella that can't be folded it's more easier to make and more convenient to the tribe! How can that poor Carpenter make that foldable umbrella for 2000 people in two days?!!! MC wasn't smart, he just show off!

You need to turn off your logic when reading this novel. The main character knows everything, from making porcelain (yes, porcelain, not pottery) to creating steam engines and muskets. Amazingly, almost all of these things can be made by the tribesmen.

The author keeps jumping all over the place, focusing on the wrong things. Instead of showing how the inventions impact the tribe through the tribe members' point of view, the story dwells on nonsensical details.

Pretty average "bring civilization to a uncultured world", but there are some annoyances that will require you to turn off your brain to enjoy some parts

To start, the MC is pretty insufferable sometimes, and downright s*upid in others.

Spoiler

In one of the first check in of the system, he got a jar with some chili sauce, did he get excited to get a glass jar with multiple uses, like boil water considering how much attention he paid to the water source of the tribe? No, he was just happy that he got some damn sauce.

Another time he decided to get clothes for the tribe's people not because they might get better protection against the elements, but because he felt the women lack modesty (in a prehistoric civilization)

Also, you might think the MC prepared for years for this reincarnation because he can basically remember every process of manufacturing from clay to paper.

Also, the people in the clan can basically make whatever he can think of, and in record time, the craftsman can make one sword in a day, from raw materials to a super sharp sword, when he didn't even know what a sword was the day before

[collapse]

The level of civilization is also pretty inconsistent, with stuff like language pretty much universal across all tribes, and stuff like trade already established, but everyone goes around barefoot and punching stuff because all weapons are basically a big stick or the bone of an animal.

All in all, not a bad novel, just don't expect Dr Stone levels of development of technology

Edit up to 192, the MC went full psychopath, Masbayu was right <<less
