A mentally broken MC from the start and doesn't even realize it as the MC possessed a girl that is already suffering from the effect.

I liked the premise enough for its uniqueness of the plot and will probably keep on reading for a long while.

I don't generaly write reviews but this novel is so unique and with few comments I tought I had to.

This novel is what it says, we have a transmigrated person a man who becomes the childhood friend of the protagonist who has a severe drug addiction. The most interesting part is that you see the world through her (very distorted) point of view, which, thanks to her addiction is very distorted from actual reality, calling the drug dealer "doctor" and claiming she constantly needs her "medicine", which she injectes into... more>> her vein and it spiralls down from there.

I think the part that stands out from others is how... real... the distorted reality our protagonist perceives, she has bouts of mania, hapiness and pleasure when taking the drug, and becomes increasingly erratic, angry and desperate when her high is running low. But it isnt always like that, she has momments of clarity and on a lot of those times she despises herself, seeing herself as a waste of space and a burden on everything and everyone,

.

This novel takes a few chapters to get going, since you're already set up with a non-lucid MC but i've binged the translated chapters so far (27 chapters) and while its nowhere near perfect it is very unique, and the good handling of the author on the topic and how an addict behaves and how he perceives himself/the world.

I say give a try, its more of a 4 and half stars but i`ll give it a 5 so it gets the recognition it deserves. <<less

This novel, I have to say, is not for anyone, especially if you can not handle heavy themes. The novel explores a lot of heavy themes especially drug ab*se, su*cide, manipulation, child ab*se and psychological effects of human experimentation.

The novel is very well written, the author has shown that he has a great insight of the topics he is exploring on multiple instances, on the topic of that, the author heavily relies on the trope of unreliable narrator, which is, infact, the best thing about this novel. The author does... more>> a remarkably wonderful job to show how distorted and disturbed to mind of our Main Character, Seo-Ah is, the constant cycle of drug ab*se to the denial of it. Her fluctuating feelings to the gaps in her logic, all of it terrorizes the reader while capturing their interest. I'd have to say it is indeed one of the best works I've read on this side.

The story will very much remind you of "Academy Heroine's Right Diagonal Back Seat", Seo-Ah reminds me of Scarlet Evande (the protagonist of the aforementioned novel) who is a very well-written character on her own, Seo-Ah on the other hand, feels like Scarlet who's life has been 30x harder. If "Academy Heroine's Right Diagonal Back Seat'' was concerning, this is downright disturbing. In fact, there was one chapter that felt disturbing enough to make me cry a bit. For those who are searching for TS, it is difficult to say you would like it in that aspect, well, it takes a backseat because of the bigger problems going on, in fact, the original Seo-Ah and the current Seo-Ah are so well-meshed that it feels wrong to say that they're different beings.

The main Character, Seo-Ah cares a lot for the Original protagonist, Si-hoo, who is basically Seo-Ah's only friend and family, but Seo-ah has already driven her relationship with Si-hoo to ruin due to a complex reason. Seo-Ah suffers a lot due to loneliness which is the biggest reason that made her suspectible to manipulation to ab*se drugs. As the story goes on, you'd realize that the only on who can save the girl is the Original protagonist, who is the only light of hope in the novel. Original Seo-ah and Si-hoo has shown indications that they like each other very much, in fact, it is a very important point in the story so I do expect some romance later on in the story, but currently, DEFINITELY Not.

I do want to write more but I would end up spoiling a lot about the story, so for people who didn't read all that.

Tldr:, Very interesting premise but a very heavy one, it deals with a lotta dark stuffs,

TS lovers will maybe (?) like it, It doesn't have any romance currently but I am sure that wouldn't be a case in future. Character are well written. One of the best novels I've read. 10/10.

I wish it was a bit less sadder though. <<less

The MC is possessing the body of a drug addict and as a result, from the begining both her body and her mind are largly under influence of the drugs. She is alone in a situation where she has no one she can relay on and cant understand how to stop the reliance on the drugs, thinking stopping to use them will cause her to die like what happend to the original owner of the body in the novel.

The series is told in a of multiply POV's format and as... more>> a result we can see how the MC perceive her situation vs how others, like her childhood friend (the "protagonist") perceive it. This help us understand the bigger picture and the MC situation in ways we couldn't otherwise.
Spoiler

While the MC treat the drugs like they are helping her and use it in order to treat a certain "condition" its really just narcotic drugs. They influence the MC mood, making her "happy", incapable of feeling pain and sleepy among others.

The MC is capable seeing a "status window" telling her how much time she has until the drug influence end, and remembering the original body owner reson of death she think if she dont take drugs according to the time shown she will die.

She's an addict, she really is. I was expecting the classic development where the protagonist reincarnates and starts doing everything right, but this is not the case. It looks promising, and reminds me a bit of “academy heroine sitting in the back seat diagonally”, but for me, better.

An addiction is not something that you can escape from alone; you need help from others.

This is an extremely f*cked up read.

Despite the fact that this is so well written that I'd give this 6 stars if I could, I will not be continuing reading this series.

Simply put: this is way too f*cked up for me to handle reading anymore. Absolutely recommend if you can handle this mentally, but holy shit. This is f*cked up and will f*ck you up.

The MC is thoroughly a drug addict and sh*t does not get better. If you pay attention, you'll notice the changes in the mc's thoughts, which... more>> range from subtle to being hit on the head with a sledgehammer. Feels kind of like watching a train wreck, but it got f*cked up enough that I managed to look away.

Absolutely recommend trying to read till at least chapter 15 or so.

In summary: Holy peak, 11/10. Not for the faint hearted. (It's me, I am the faint hearted) <<less

Gotta have to say... that one reviewer's reffering to MC as tuna can is really.... twisted..

Anyway, pretty obvious with the title but this would be very mentally/emotionally taxing to read as the story begins with the MC already addicted.

The plot is a bit slow moving, and the rest of the characters are kinda 2D (actually also the worldbuilding) aside from the MC and ML slowly being fleshed out the further the story.

... more>> By the way, romance?

Bromance (✔️)

The main focus of the novel's mostly about how an addict tries, fails, and gets deeper and deeper into addiction with all the contradicting stuff going on in their heads. Which, some points, may be understod by some fellow mental patients out there. 👋 As well as how in the h*ck would MC and ML somehow salvage their relationship and their wrecked situation.

So really, this isn't for people uninterested in diving into metality stuff.

Anyway for the "romance subplot" tag... Though they did mention "liking" and "loving" each other, as far as I've read it's more of a deep familial love than anything else. Cause they only had each other in their loneliest phase. (At least before they were made even more miserable). Same with their possessiveness cause they're afraid to be replaced since they only ever considered each other their own closest persons.

And we do get glimpses of before MC became wholly addicted, times when she/he really fought it. Clearest flashbacks of it would in around c70s. Also, maybe a hint of MC potentially having been able to communicate with OG!Seol-ah. That part's unsure and I think the MC I've been reading is the combined version of both. Did MC assimilate OG!seol-ah or did they somehow fuse? Idk.

Do be warned for my fellow empathetic and easily-affected readers; I marathoned this the whole day and MC's state... really triggered my lethargy or some sort. Kinda felt out of it the whole day like I'm on auto-pilot or veiwing myself in third pov or something. Thank god it's a saturday. And it's midnight now so Imma go sleep this away 😴 <<less

If I had to summarise this novel in one world it would be boring.

Almost all lines of the text are simple one-liners, the world building is almost non-existent as we're only really aware of the academy's existence and the protagonist is stale. All she's really done is lament about her existence and her frustration with the novel's protagonist. Honestly, he isn't even that bad. Despite the childhood friend harshly pushing him away, once our MC asks for money he looks past the past, gives her money and cuts her off... more>> from his life. That's a reasonable response to someone who cuts a connection with you for no reason. Sure he could of been more perceptive about his childhood friend, but he has his own life to worry about and shouldn't have to worry about others that much. Then our MC complains about the MC not protecting her. Like what? The childhood friend purposely hid her troubles from him. If she had told him about her drug problems he would be able to protect the both of them. If anyone is to blame it's the childhood friend before transmigation she didn't even try to ask for help.

One good thing about this novel is that it leaves the audience questioning the childhood friend's drug-ab*sed past and the doctor's motive behind killing the protagonist. However, what's the point in reading on and finding out if all the author wants to focus on are constant complaining and subtle jabs at the protagonist. I understand she's in a terrible situation but if all she's gonna do is lament about her suffering it just gets boring. <<less

I've read the MTL up to chapter 43. MC and Protagonist's past is very important and is the source of drama, which left me teared eye a couple of times. I suggest reading up until chapter 8 before you decide. For TS lovers out there, depite having a boy's past life, both memories are still combined so there's no difference outside.

Spoiler

She/he often accesses the girl's memories, but rarely uses the knowledge boy's memories. In her clarity moments, all she does is thinking of su*c*de, loneliness (important), burden, etc... And why doctor using her to kill the Protag is still unknown other than military drug experimentation since she has higher drug resistance and self-control.

The alternate title is misleading, most likely a translation error which got me to skip this gold novel quite a few times.

I never would have thought that a story about the wholesome, all-ages adventures of a tuna can could be so fun to read. The main draw of the story is definitely the tuna can's inner monologue and its relationship with the original protagonist of the story. The disjointed, often manic train-of-thought style of writing is very unique and gives a lot of perspective on the mental innerworkings of a tuna can and keeps you wanting for more.

There are issues in that the brief descriptions and unreliable narration can lead some... more>> of the chapters to feel muddled and repetitive, but that aspect is also what creates some really standout moments in the novel. While the viewpoint is rather restrictive and incoherent, such stylization is very effective when representing the feelings of the tuna can in a compelling manner.

Although the tuna can's disjointed monologue is the most entertaining aspect of the novel, I do wish that the author had put more time into developing the world and cast more. Aside from the two leads, I think that the characters really lacked in relevance and presence within the narrative. It's enough that I was questioning why the author even bothered giving the side characters names or backgrounds. With the setting being so underdeveloped on top of the tuna can and male lead being so disinterested in the world, I found it hard to get attached even to characters with significant roles in the plot such as the antagonist doctor or 'saintess'.

In spite of all those flaws, the tuna can is just that fun to read about, even when I'm pretty convinced that the author is just making everything up as they go along with no plans. I'm looking forward towards reading the conclusion of the tuna can's story. <<less

Just from the title, I knew this novel would be depressing, and I was okay with that. But after everything seemed to get back on track, the author was like, "Hold tf up" and brought everything downhill again.

What I want to say is that it's fine to write a depressing story, but you should balance it out with moments of happiness. Just throwing one depressing event after another at the reader makes the novel not enjoyable to read at all.

It's pretty good in its own way, and the addiction with all its needs and consequences (regarding health, relationships, choices, altering perception of reality, etc.) is conveyed well, but in the end I just can't deal with purely tragic stories.

I still gave it 5 stars for the quality, but it's definitely not for me.

On another note, at least the first or two dozen chapters are pretty much shameless unedited AI MTL, even including some of the replies to the prompts. It's readable, but there are occasional obvious mistakes like characters'... more>> genders being wrong at times. <<less

The story actually pretty good.. But one thing that I don't like until the latest update (ch44) is, the MC seems doesn't going anywhere.. Sure there are progress, but in the end her fate still the same.. She still a tool for someone with no control of her body.. This is the only thing that makes me considering to drop the series.. Maybe if there's more chapter, im gonna pick it up again..

This is tragedykino without being s*upid about it. For a fantasy academy story it really treats addiction in a believable and heart wrenching way.

There were many moments in the story where I wished our protagonist got a hug. In a lesser light novel she would be the token yandere character. In this it's not romanticized at all. In fact this is played for the opposite of cute. At times she's acts (not meant to be derogatory) pathetic and you just feel for her.

It got me hooked from chapter one because she's like a magnet of suffering surrounded by Academy type characters. And like watching a trainwreck you just can't look away. 5/5 don't read this if you're feeling down it's depressing as is. <<less

Oh, it's one of those. One-line or even one-word paragraphs all the way. Thought train style, I guess. Fitting, and some snippets I read were pretty good, surprisingly. Such close up and limited perspective... can be quite immersive and charming in it's own way. But I'm not sold.
