Are you tired of being baited of a potential Yuri ship in your Otome Isekais? Have you ever seen a friendship between girls with a chemistry so good that they suited each other more than the male lead? Do you wish they ended up together instead? Well look no further Yuri fans, this novel provides exactly that. We. Won.

As for our heroines, it seems like they'll have a tough time considering that not only is our protagonist afflicted with the classic OI denseness, combined with that they'll also face the... more>> classic obstacle that most Yuri romances face: a straight woman! Considering she's straight, I found that her denseness makes a bit more sense in this case. So far, I enjoyed our FMC and her relationships and interactions with the female leads.

Not only that, as with most Yuri stories, this one is also packaged with drama and (light) angst. Thankfully the angst isn't too heavy like Citrus or My Girlfriend's Not Here Today and is at best mild. The protagonist tends to be self-sacrificial with her loved ones which can cause pain for her beloved heroines or make them like her even more. As someone who loves this trope, the author served a scrumptious meal for me.

If any of the stuff I mentioned for you seemed like something you won't enjoy, run! The novel isn't perfect and it does uses tropes but for what it sets out to do, it has given me a very satisfying experience so far. The novel reeled me in so much that I've had to force myself to sleep because the translator dropped 80+ chapters instantly in one day (Absolute madlad)

After being baited for so many years by so many Otome Isekais, I can finally rest and watch the sun rise on a peaceful universe as I see an actual Yuri OI relationship. <<less

Well, I'm currently on chapter 83 (i had a looong night) and my current rating for this novel is a solid 3, although I gave it a 4 due to my personal taste in questionable characters (and boooy, there are some)

The story in gen is pretty simple, following a pleasant rhythm and with a BG that, although not sooooo (almost anything) defined, works, as the novel seeks to focus on the relationship between the characters and their reactions to things, even having multiple POVs of the same event, which... more>> although to some may seem boring or repetitive, in this story it works pretty damn well and I often found myself waiting to see another character's POV of certain situations

However, this story is... a big mess of clichés, involving a Protagonist who is honestly frustrating and several unnecessary misunderstandings coming from ALL parts, even though they are resolved quite quick...
Spoiler

Plus the classic Duke of the North, who is actually a woman pretending to be a man.

[collapse]

She has several romantic interests, although it is clear who she will eventually end up with, considering the protagonist's reactions to each character and how she feels and interacts with them

One of the few times I was sad about not having the harem tag, because gods,
Spoiler

my girl Claire deserved the protagonist love.

UPDATE:

I finally finished reading this novel and i... Just cant., even though I liked the secondary characters, this MC is easily the worst protagonist I've ever seen in any GL story, so I'm going to lower my rating from my previous 4 to 3 stars and honestly, that's me being kind, because no matter how interesting it is to see how those relationships grow... the exaggerations in their personalities, guilt syndromes (because for some reason, everything is everyone fault) and especially the MC's MARTYR syndrome are completely unnecessary.

The story started at a pleasant pace that slowly lost its way around chapter 100, where everything started to accelerate for some reason, although it was still a tolerable pace, what ruined this story for me was, however, the way that the secondary characters, who previously constantly appeared with their own POVs, were left completely aside, with rare exceptions, leaving the MC's dull and frustrating POVs being the only one constantly present and my friends... I was frustrated, a lot, many times I almost gave up reading this novel thanks to her, persevering only because I wanted to see the ending of the FLs and whether MC would change for the better.

On that note, let's talk about the characters.

MC:

Easily the most useless and annoying character ever created in a GL. She has the biggest martyr syndrome in the bloody world, she is s*upid, dumb, innocent, hypocritical and is in a constant state of fear or denial.

She is, without a doubt, the worst part of this novel.

Some might call her dense, but I disagree, the MC quickly notice main FL's feelings for her, although she thinks it's something temporary thanks to their age at the time. And even if takes her a while to discover the feelings of the other two, in her defense,
Spoiler

one of them was her adoptive sister, who was always very attached to her.

[collapse]

The last one really has no excuse, she knew what her personality was like thanks to the book, she knew she didn't act like that towards anyone else, honestly, her not realizing it seemed extremely forced considering all the things that were going on between her and the last FL

However, although she is not guilty of being dense, she is guilty of extreme and completely unnecessary denial.

MC when 12 years old (New Body) : Maybe I like girls? I don't have any particular problem with it, but it shouldn't be possible... right?

MC when 19 years old: Do I like a woman? No, no, my face is blushing because it's normal to be enchanted by the face of such a beautiful person, that's it, that's all, I'm not interested in her or anything... right...?

B****, you had SIX YEARS to discover yourself, FOUR in which you kept thinking about a girl nonstop, YOU ARE AN ADULT, STOP LYING TO YOURSELF

Argh, writing about it makes me have all that boiling anger again, however, there's still the worst part about MC... Martyr Syndrome and extreme uselessness.

I'm going to be honest here, a fussy 8 year old is smarter AND more useful than this girl, it would also causes less trouble.

This woman does NOTHING the entire book, besides complaining internally and externally that she can't do anything alone and trying to hide that she is in pain or another symptom of her illness and treatment.

And when she finally does, it's such a simple and s*upidly easy thing, that you honestly want to strangle her for taking so long to *want* to think about a solution, because before, all she did was beat herself up and blame herself for being sick

Never once in the 6 years that she was in that world (and conscious, because Sleeping Beauty would be jealous of how much sleep this B**** gets) did she think about trying to save herself or look for a cure until se were almost in the end of the novel, which frustrated me immensely, since, man, where is that young girl who wanted to live when she was run over? Died in the acident it seems and in its place was something pathetic and unpleasant pretending to be her.

I can't bear to write about her anymore and yet, I haven't finished expressing my frustrations here, so forgive me for being so bloody long.

This MC is someone incapable of learning from past situations, several times, she hiding things caused problems for everyone around her and only made them worry, they got angry and sad with her, she realized she was wrong and... continued to do the same shit, hiding things from others and trying to deal with them on her own, even though at all times she knew that she couldn't do anything by herself, that is, she didn't just screw others with her actions, she screwed herself many times, especially around the end of the story when trying to solve things on her on and only complicated everything further.

It was a repetitive cycle of:

She hides some shit, some sh*t happen, they find out, they worry about her, they resolve or try to resolve the problem for her, she "Learns" the lesson, She hides some shit, some sh*t happen, they find out, they worry about her, they resolve or try to resolve the problem for her, she "Learns" the lesson... And It goes on.

Honestly, this story had everything to be good at its beginning, the other characters are interesting, although the author exaggerated some clichés and tropes in their personalities, but this MC is... just no.

So if you are reading this to know whether you should read this novel or no, my most honest opinion is:

It's an enjoyable read, until you start to get way too frustrated with the MC tô enjoy all the rest, so if you can't deal with all the sh*t I've wrote so far, don't read this, it's not worth the headache and frustration you will feel.

Also, Claire is the Best. <<less

-2 simply cause of how completely s*upid the MC is, probably should be -3 but the rest of the story is actually pretty good. I'd put about 20% of the problems that happen on her being sick, 10% on other people, and 70% on her just being plain s*upid. The whole self sacrificing "oh I will just kill myself to prevent this problem without considering the feelings of others" is probably one of the most annoying tropes out there and she fully embodies it. Like her sister cares about her... more>> and gets sad when she gets hurt? Instead of using the money that she clearly has lets not use it and let the condition get even worse so her sister can get as upset as possible. I don't think she did a single thing positive on her own the entire story, everything that got done was cause of other people with many of those trying to solve issues she caused.

Also now that I finished it, the ending feels a lot weaker than the beginning. Not going to spoil it too much but it feels like some of the characters which were important during the early-mid portions of the story just kinda faded out of relevancy without any notice. The ending felt a bit quick if that makes sense.

Otherwise pretty decent. Good setting, translation is perfect, and interactions outside of the whole self sacrificing stuff is really nice. <<less

All in all, this was a very solid Yuri story. The early parts were very SoL but the pacing wasn't bad and there were other things and engaging plot points to keep you interested. My main and really only complaint is that the romance and drama is rather copy/paste so it needlessly drags out the plot. The protagonist is pretty dull and can be irritating at times with her naive, goody-2-shoes attitude but since its an SoL story, the stakes aren't really all that high so I didn't mind it... more>> that much. This goes on until about chapter 100, after which the story just completely falls apart.

Now into the meat and potatoes of this review: chapter 100+

I've honestly never seen a a novel fall off this hard before. Not only did the overall quality of the writing take a nosedive, everything positive I just said about the novel just goes completely out the window. I'd describe the series after chapter 100 as a flat, desolate plain. It has no moments that make me wanna strangle the author but it has nothing, NOTHING that even got me remotely interested either. The already somewhat repetitive slice of life/romance becomes multiple times more so, the protagonist's already slightly irritating character deteriorates rapidly and becomes worse a hundredfold. Hell, I feel like every character's intelligence took a slight hit since chapter 100 onwards.

SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT

STOP SCROLLING IF YOU HAVEN'T READ YET/ARE PLANNING TO READ

Now lemme get into the specific criticisms. The author has been building a semi-harem throughout the entire story. The maid, the sister. All that just for them to get thrown aside like tr*sh. I won't deny that I'm salty over the least interesting heroine (they hinted at her backstory only to not tell it for 70 chapters + their relationship was built up for 1 year when they were children) ending up as the love interest but this is more than that. The other 'harem members' served no purpose. Characters we have grown to love for a hundred chapters went 'damn, I'm sad that I lost' and vanished, never to be heard from again. Why even have there be romance between them and MC if they weren't going to do anything?

The MC also becomes a ret*rd who is afraid of her own shadow. She nearly dies when she last touched the prince, but when a servant shows up who claims the prince will kill him like he did to his predecessors for no good reason, she decides to go meet the prince for his sake. Once she meets the prince, she shakes his hand and gets scared after seeing his mana and wants to go home. Upon coming up with this thought, she condemns herself for being selfish.

I'M SORRY? She knows the prince is incredibly powerful and an as*hole who kills others at a whim. But when she actually meets him, she realizes, 'man, this guy is evil' AND SHE CHICKENS OUT?!!!!

To begin with, she didn't even have to touch him at all. She nearly died the last time she did. She wouldn't have died if she refused to touch him/told Sharne to do it instead. WHY DO IT AGAINNN

Hands down, one of, if not the best Yuri story I’ve read. Primarily because the focus of the story isn’t the Yuri itself, but the tragedy of just trying to fing live and our FMC’s repeated selfless attitude. I’ve binged all the way to chapter 102 without being able to focus on anything else, and now I just... HAVE to take a break, my heart genuinely can’t take anymore. I just got a small glimpse of happiness throughout all the suffering and so I’m going to pause my reading til... more>> my heart no longer feels like it’s being torn into hundreds of itty bitty pieces.

Also, I’d normally never, ever suggest this, but god damnit make this a harem story. I don’t care if that lowers its quality, I NEED to see all these girls happy with one another after all the sh*t that’s been thrown at them. I won’t be satisfied if we don’t have a happily ever after for everyone in the end. <<less

I'm not sure whether to recommend this novel or not. It's essentially an archetypal straight romance novel for women, except that the FL is a biological female and there are yanderes, torture, mu*der, and assassination attempts sprinkled throughout.

Like usual, most of the conflicts are based on misunderstandings that could be easily resolved, but that wouldn't be any fun. The problem is that the same misunderstanding repeats itself several times without revealing anything new to the reader. Particularly, the last arc of the novel is the worst in that regard

Spoiler

The protagonist goes through 4 failed assassination attempts before she starts to think maybe the big evil bad guy wants to kill her

[collapse]

The romance is satisfying even if the author had to momentarily kick out all the yanderes so the MC could get together with the FL.

But, in the end, I think it's a decent novel to binge read on a weekend. You can skim through a lot of it because it's fairly predictable

The ending is basically:

Spoiler

jumanji mixed with inception lol.

[collapse]

I think the author didn't really know how to end it outside of a very basic outline, the last few chapters were basically filler because the MC doesn't do anything, just things happens to her and it's over, everyone is mostly happy. <<less

LOL this is so good. I got s**ked in and read the whole thing up to the most recent chapter in one day. It's not a particularly dramatic story but it has enough twists and turns to be entertaining. I genuinely like the FMC's personality and the other characters play their part well

I really love this novel to be quite honest with you it reminded me of a straight manhwa Only because of the plot and that’s so hard to find in gl novels! There’s only two others I’ve ever read that are similar to this.

however the endings rather unsatisfying I would’ve like to see them have kids and maybe have another wedding because if you read it you know what their weddings like it’s definitely not glamorous and the ending is rather abrupt

and second the female lead being sick for the... more>> whole book there’s magic in this world that this book takes place in so why was it never cured really?

and then the love interest I loved her but I would’ve liked her to be a little bit more dominant in the bedroom and have a bit more of a cold personality but besides that she was perfect she was tall she used the sword and she was strong !

And I didn’t really love how their first time together only happened because of an aphrodisiac I didn’t really enjoy that and then their other s*xual encounters all started with the wine so they were drunk.... and there’s more that could’ve better done in this novel <<less

It's not a bad novel, but not top tier either.

The MC (Yuri) is in constant pain from being terminally ill and is fairly limited in how much and what she can do before she needs rest or her illness acts up. She's also not the smartest girl at times.

The side characters got both good and bad points and are mostly very likeable.

The story itself is the weak part I felt.

Overall I think it sits on a 3, not bad, not top tier.
