"Do you know what love is?" baby don't hurt me...

Anyway.

Title is a bit weird or even misguided because the [Male Main Character] hasn't transmigrated or something similar. He apparently was born and raised in that world and became a priest with exceptional Holy Power. Tittle and Cover is not eye-catching but whatever.

But the novel is pretty refreshing!

    • the MMC is what would've been a Side-Character in any other novel: a devoted Priest. To the point where people call him Mad/Lunatic due to his faith. He's pretty selfless and his world-view, as one of the main character, brings a sense of novelty.
    • the FMC is pitiful. Her world is devoid of anything but torture. Her personality is basically loneliness and coldness; Deprived of everything ranging from familiar love to comfort/safety. It's no wonder that she lacks substance compared to others side-characters
    • NOTE:
        • The [hated protagonist], [Past Trauma], [Tragic Past] tag is related to Eillen, the FMC.
        • And the [Fearless Protagonist], and [male protagonist] to Lian, the MMC.
        • This novel should include [Female Protagonist] tag because both of them act like protagonist and main characters.
        • In fact, Eillen, the FMC, has more POV compared to Lian, the MMC. Something like 70-3o.
Honestly, this novel should've been something similar to "one-shot" in Manga-terms, a brief and short story. Only focusing on the two main characters and nothing else other than a few conflicts, which is the battle and the final boss. Maybe this would've been used as an REBOOT in the future for a more polished novel y'know? But that would need this Novel to be really fast-paced, cutting corners here and there to rush the story and the MMC/FMC dynamic/relationship

With that said, this one deserves something around 4 to 5 stars. If it had more chapters, it'd probably drop to 3 because the Author might've tried to develop the story beyond it's scope (things like Political struggle, a new Villain/boss, Revenge, or anything other than what have been present up to chapter 16).

Also, let me repeat myself: THERE ARE TWO MAIN CHARACTERS. The FMC and MMC. The story always switch between those two, which is super cool.

Now, an objective view of the novel so far. Keep in mind that this is my opinion. Most of my comments here will be target to the idea of an 'one-shot' novel instead of a proper novel because this thing is severely lacking to be properly reviewed as a full novel

TLDR: Should you read it? Yes, it's a very fast read and you'll feel a sense of novelty. It's rare to see a devoted priest as a Male Main Character or Male Protagonist.

unfortunately though, the FMC is not something that brings the same sense of novelty. Nothing sets her apart but that's expected given her situation. If she was a regressor or transmigrator, that would be another thing.

    • World-building so far is non-existent
        • Nothing much to add here. Makes sense for a 'one-shot' novel but not for a full all-out novel with 150+ chapters
    • Writing Style is minimalist.
        • Again, makes sense for an 'one-shot' novel aiming for a reboot in the future. But I doubt that was the Author intention.
        • There aren't many description of the character's expressions (such as facial expressions, body language/movement, thoughts, intentions, or personality traits). They feel like mannequin with a hug.
        • We have no information of how the characters looks like aside from their Hair, Eye and Skin color. Not even what kinda of Clothes, Armor, Weapon or Accessory they're using. A naked mannequin, huh?
        • The Author don't describe how their tents looks like; how the terrain looks like; how the camp looks like; how's the scenario where Eillen the hero

usually hide; How the battlefield looks like; The horrors of the battle; or even the carriage that the Iron-Blooded girl used to come to the Battlefield (She's a noble, a top-tier one).
        • Flashbacks are not treated as Flashbacks when it comes to Eillen. The author explained a part of her past so fast that it didn't convey anything other than her emotions/feelings. That was not a recapitulation nor a flashback, it was a frankstein of both. If you want to show us the character past, do it properly and take your time; and explain what is happening around us. If you want to show us a part of their past as an flashback, then keep it short and cohesive, treat is as a passing memory drown in emotion: fragmented and fast-paced.
    • Characters are background.
        • Except for the MMC, FMC and the Iron-Blooded Noble, everyone else is background extras. This already sets the tone of the novel and it shows that nothing other than the Main Characters matters to the story.
            • That's not a bad thing for a "one-shot" novel. In fact, it's amazing imo. But only if the author manages to keep it consistently, treating the whole novel as a prologue before the reboot.
        • The Hero squad are non-remarkable aside from 2 or 3 warriors.
        • Eillen's father is the average jerk with 3-4 lines worth of description. Her Household is basically prison
        • The place she was sent to (or rather, sold) is a prison that so far only showed 2 people (FMC and Charlotte) excluding the instructor (one fanatic

          woman)

            • And all of them feels bland and fast. That was what I meant about the frankstein Flashback+Recapitulation. It was meant to show the FMC scar regarding Charlotte but it fell short. It'd be better if she wasn't introduced at all and only kept FMC's past vague
    • Plot is basically healing the FMC slowly. But i'd like to see two plot, one for each Main Character
        • FMC: Her healing
        • MMC: Make him somewhat relatable (not necessary Human)
            • He's weird. Why is he like that? Why is he different? Why does primal fear not affect him? Is he broken? Is he a human?
            • he doesn't make sense. he just feels like an Angel. Show us his past and struggles and how he became the Angels he is today.
            • If he has some sort of trauma, then make the Eillen his paradise like Lian is to her. DONE! Mutual relationship! At least give us HINTS.
                • Am I asking too much?... No. I doubt that the author intended to write an 'one-shot' novel and then reboot.
    • The romance.
        • They should share a bond. Eillen is supposed to rely on Lian; and Lian is supposed to rely on Eillen. A mutual relationship and partnership. That's what a healthy romantic relationship should look like.
        • Up until now, the FMC is slowly coming to rely on him; but it could backfire in the future since she might feel like she's a burden to him. Give the MMC a reason to accept and love her wholeheartedly. Give us HINTS, a FORESHADOW.
        • He treats everyone equally, with mad Love and selflessness. The FMC doesn't have a privilege over anyone else aside from spending more time with him. At least show us if the MMC loves her in a different magnitude compared to others (romantic love) ; or make the MMC confide something personal (that makes him vulnerable) to the FMC. Create a bond between them, something exclusive and special. Give us hints that it's going to happen soon! The novel already feels minimalist, with the bare minimum, so at least give us hints to what is going to happen or what is already happening! Otherwise, the read is going to feel bland, a soup with only water and salt.
        • And he should have something going on with him regarding her. Up until now, it is just compassion and pity. A saint taking care of a pitiful lamb, nothing else. That would only hurt the FMC and strain their relationship.
        • Give us a reason to why the MMC is a holy saint without anything going on! He's doesn't feel human, so why are he portrayed as one?
