Fantastic novel, truly one of my new favorites in the Villainess genre. As the description doesn’t give much information, here is a short overview:

The MC transmigrated into the world of an otome game as the daughter of a Duke, the Villainess of the game. Attempting to pursue a happy ending, she eventually was killed only to find herself back at the start as a young child. Despite repeatedly trying to survive and find a happy ending, she is always eventually betrayed, ab*sed, and otherwise killed over and over. The story... more>> begins after she decides to fully embrace her role as the Villainess, but not as the original role in the game, but as the true endgame villain determined to take revenge on all those who wronged her in past lives.

What I really like about the story as opposed to many other novels is the determination the MC has to see her plan through to the end, despite the multiple times her resolve faltered, particularly after the introduction of the love interest and their blossoming relationship. She is as cruel to herself as she is to her enemies in her pursuit of her goal, and never suddenly decides to give up her goals or turn over a new leaf, even if that means she must make sacrifices to get there.

I’ve read through the whole main story, and I highly recommend giving it a try, just mind the tags. There are some dark (though not terribly graphic) scenes in the novel. There are also R18+ scenes in the source material, though I’m unsure if those will be ever translated. <<less

The story is about transmigrator into some OI work, who mentally broke down during multiple regressions.

Though MC has a tragic story, but he is a real villain and it can be really uncomfortable read. He does all sort of morally wrong acts: mu*der, genocide, human experimentation, r*pe, gaslighting, brainwashing, etc. Moreover despite the fact that the story focuses mostly on breaking individuals who wronged him, he also does evil to absolutely unrelated people.

POV switch also works greatly to disturb the reader: author writes a lot of chapters from another character's... more>> POV, even causes some empathy for antagonists/extras, only to mindbreak or/and kill them later.

Evil deeds are pretty hardcore:

Spoiler
  • Making father drug and alcohol addict and poisoning him; reveal this to mother and siscon maternal aunt who actually poison him.
  • Gaslighting child maid to not trust herself, making her reliant on MC, outcast, mute only to commit su*cide later.
  • Give random student hypnosis thing to help him r*pe his bully's GF and other girls, then awaken bully from hypnosis and pretend to be benefactor and kill him.
  • Abort child of the maid, who has trauma about losing a child; make her care for another child, then drug her to r*pe the said child and then make her hallucinate and kill that child. (I really felt bad for this character, moreover there were some intimate scenes with her).
  • Etc.
[collapse]

On the other hand, it is really interesting to watch MC's thought process, his resolve wavering because of many factors (not only love interest) and how MC's story will conclude.

As for romance part of this story, there is only 1 love interest, but MC also have interc**rses with and lusts after other people. Love interest was also quite unexpected for me, but she was quite good.

All in all, this story is not everyone's cup of tea, but it is an interesting read. <<less
