The amount of deaths and betrayal in that story.

1) The fiance (not the ML) of the MC who did not help her village when they were invaded and mu*dered by the emperor even though they pleaded him. But he did later on regretted it when MC came to him after losing her memory

2) The empress (half sister of MC) who was deluded and deceived to think the MC was unknowingly mocking her when they didn't even met personally. It was all in her illusion. She even contributed to the mu*der of her adopted mom (MC's mom) due to her illusion.

Also another f*cking plot twist. Her husband (emperor) is the illegitimate son of the previous emperor & a maid. And she was the the child from an affair between the previous empress and MC's dad (PS: MC's dad was a casanova and like to spread his seeds around)...

Anyways, eventually she regretted everything when she realized her illusion was false, so she revealed the truth at a ball to save the MC and drank the poison to prove the emperor was trying to mu*der her sister.

3) That damn emperor won't stop dying. Basically he was so obsessed with the empress that he massacred her village and kept them in check so that the empress will stay with him... Eventually you'd think the conflict finally ends at the ball where the empress revealed everything & he dies.. But nope...

Apparently, the empress and his child is actually just his clone. Before he was 'died', he somehow 'killed' his child's personality and basically had his soul or whatever transfered to that clone's body.

4) But what saddened me most is the original child FL & her family. At the beginning I thought they would be allies just from the bond they created over everything that happened & the secrets that they shared.

Like the way the OriFL really loved FL and how much she appreciated her comfort too. And also OriFL & her dad helping her family too when something happened. They were even in support of the commoners initially.

Well damn that all became hopeless after the emperor died (& transferred his soul to the clone).

Long story short, her dad actually contributed to the kidnapping of Calib's (ML's younger bro) when he was a baby & the mu*der of his parents. He also participated in taking some of Calib's powers for OriFL's sake in the past. Therefore when the clone (emperor) threatened him with that secret, he was also tasked to kill the FL. All his beliefs for the support of the commoners and having FL's family probably rule was set aside all to 'protect' his daughter from the secret.

Therefore ML was targeting their family afterwards due to their actions.

But OriFL didn't know about that, so when FL's family targeted them, she thought they betrayed them first. So she basically spilled secrets about something (like weakness) to her father to defeat them...

I did hope that they'd eventually turn around and not continue trying to kill FL. But her dad still tried and also OriFL while she was crying midway trying to execute it.

And so her dad's head was beheaded & before OriFL died, FL told kindly the truth of what happened. OriFL was shocked and said sorry while FL comforted her. She was also thankful for even comforting her since she thinks she's a sinner herself & she'll accept any punishment... I'm not so clear, but I think her punishment was maybe drinking poison to die peacefully (?). Her last words was "long live the fairy empress (MC)."
