Ito Arase knows what the future holds a few minutes from now.

For some reason, Arase has transferred to a rural town.

He thought he would live a quiet and mundane life at his new school. However, future foresight doesn’t let him do so.

Most of the futures he can see will lead to misfortune for himself or someone else.

Despite being a nuisance, the good-natured Arase avoids such an unfortunate and inconvenient future.

As a result, Arase helps girls with various problems.

Arase does not know. Before he knows it, the girls like him.

Arase is unaware. Unbeknownst to him, the girls are fighting with each other.

The only thing this novel has going for it is the premise.

The character writing is awful, the plot has all your typical JP tropes which isn't always a bad thing if executed well but it's not in this case. The dialogue is awful but this one I can't tell if its due to the source material or the translation.

It just felt frustrating to read.

It's overall a decent read except for the tsundere. That girl alone brings this novel down by 2 stars. I hate the tsundere trope with a passion, and this is quite possibly the most tsundere piece of garbage I've ever seen in a romcom.

Edit: so after catching up to the latest chapter, I can see why Asagiri is the way she is, but I still stand by my initial review, as we didn't know anything about her at the time, so she genuinely came across as unlikable.

It's a bit typical for now. A japanese guy having just lost his family, who couldn't leave a girl in trouble alone knowingly? Easy and quick to read. What I was interested more though, was what kind of Visions he'd see and what happened afterward when he tried to divert troubles.

These are some Visions from 1-11 ch

Spoiler
  • 1st, he got slapped and called a pe*vert by a black-haired beauty when he tried stalling for time and ended up hugging her. Hahah... poor guy just wanna stop her from getting into a car accident a few minute ahead at the intersection.
  • 2nd, he avoids being collided by a brat, but another cream-haired cute girl got into trouble instead and impulsively jumped into the river to retrieve another kid's dropped item. But then she drowned and he has to fish her up ashore as the only other person there.
  • 3rd, he changed the road after seeing that he'd get all muddy from an unpredictable fall continuing on.
  • 4th, he got entangled by some hooligans picking up a silver-haired gal just from passing by and seeing them. He was quickly changing the road, but he couldn't help dissuading her once from going that same way when he met her.
  • 5th came suddenly that he was just up ahead them and ended up getting hit anyway, he then asked the girl out to somehow promptly get away from there, she agreed unexpectedly, and they became acquainted.

Reading till chapter (70) one more boyish sporty girl was introduced in ch 12, and another megane kouhai at ch 47, so hehe.

Spoiler

MC is more like a guy they're more interested to talk with compared to other boys as they have a strong first impression of him. Sometime picking him up as a partner fantasizing a what-if, for a potential bf. On other time he was treating them quite ordinarily (yes, those popular beauties) , gradually becoming friends.

MC has quite a bit of good specs himself while not particularly mentioning them in his monologue from having to shoulders responsibilities growing up from a young age.

He's disinterested of his surrounding most of the time *cough* self-proclaimed loner *cough*, unless it involves ppl in his Visions and the only male friend he has at school. They're also the only ppl he'd interacted with other than his class teacher and school nurse anyway, haha...

Very dry, flat and dull. The premise of the protagonist's power should be fuel for a lot of romcom hijinks and comedy but it's played/written as dry and seriously as the protagonist, so it ends up being boring. Dialogue is also flat and so far it's just one dull encounter with a new heroine after another.

The only chapter with a little bit of life to it was the encounter with the gal character but even that is as cliche as it goes, and is utterly forgettable.

A total slog of a... more>> novel and it's a mystery how it even got a manga adaptation. You just need to read the first chapter of the manga to tell how dull it is. <<less
