Xia Xixi has a boyfriend named Li Quyin who looks exactly like the movie emperor Shen Bailou.

He and Shen Bailou are half-brothers from the same father but different mother. Their father does not love Li Quyin’s mother. So, their lives are particularly miserable. Shen Bailou never even mentioned that he had such a brother.

Xia Xixi felt that Shen Bailou was a dog in the human face, in fact a s*um tr*sh.

This is another case of "low rating without any reason for a book". Anyways, I'm putting a review here to let y'all have a gist of what's going to happen in the book. 5* to balance out the low rating for the book.

MC and ML are dating since the start. MC supposedly hates Shen Bailou (ML's so called brother) because he made ML (Li Quyim) suffer (it's explained in the first or second chapter). Because of this, ML is always pretending to be another person when actually he (okay this is the confusing part), essentially Li Quyin and Shen Bailou are the same person. Shen Bailou is a stage name, Li Quyin is his real name. Because ML knows MC hates Shen Bailou, he pretends to be a person he isn't to differentiate between Shen Bailou and Li Quyin. To summarize the pretending part, when Li Quyin is with MC he pretends to be Li Quyin, who is know for being sweet and kind while Shen Bailou is known for being a shitty bastard. In actual reality, Li Quyin's real personality is more towards Shen Bailou. It's actually ALL a misunderstanding and is mainly what the book builds upon.

From the basic gist of what's happening, the book is already quite interesting. It definitely has A LOT of potential and I honestly hope to see it do well. <<less

I can't believe I created an account just to write a review for this novel...

There's only 4 reviews, and I'm still wondering if we're goddamn reading the same novel. Here's some points that seem to need clarifying:

1: Right at the beginning, they mention they only knew each other for half a month!!! They were stranger before that! For those who don't know, HALF a month = 2 weeks = 14 day; MAX 20 days!

2: Slow romance? yes, it's not a flash marriage, but it's still pretty fast-paced! ... more>>

They met at a bar where ML seem to have developed an interest for MC. After realizing he (ML) can talk so much and still be spirited and happy, he pretty much claimed love at first sight. MC, who was interested in the concept of dating accepted to date, and as he got know ML, fell for him.

3: MC did NOT break up because of the pregnant incident!! The ML thought it was, but it wasn't!! Hopefully not too much spoiler, ML's too good acting skills was his own downfall in this case!!

As MC watched movies by ML, he keeps having the feeling these 'gentle' role persona resembles a lot like LQY, dude he fell for. Gentle role played = his boyfriend = (... get it?) Not to mention ML is a recognized actor and did lie about his identity ("fake" name, fake family member, fake job...) (with pretty good reasons though)

4: MC did not hate ML because of pregnant incident! Yes, he was mildly disgusted, and slapped a "hypocrite" label on him... The REAL hate came from:

ML's agent! MC assumed ML was aware of his agent's action! Ex: his car got wrecked, forceful "invitations" despite rejection, etc. Please, you can say he shouldn't assume, but when an employee does a mistake, most ppl's reaction is to look for the boss!

Anyways, MC, as a genius who graduated early with no friends his age and well protected by elders, ML seems to be the first person he gave his heart to. A bit too afraid of getting hurt, and quite insecure, but it's a pretty sweet and fluffy story... <<less

I know why the notes are bad. First because it's so slow. They are supposed to be dating and when they interact, it's like they are on dates before getting together. It looks like They know nothing about each other, never been to each other's house, don't know what the other do as work. After 5 chapters, that's what I summarize up. The blush when being Together, kindergarten kids are more daring, at least they hold hands. Pity, it's not well written because the idea was good. This 2... more>> stars for that only <<less

It seems incredible considering the synpnosis but I have to admit that many of the misunderstandings in the plot are caused by Xia xixi, and not by Sheng Bailou, Xia xixi's personality is very bad, maybe in china he is considered the cute and shy type, but for us Westerners it is quite annoying, it is assumed that you are in a relationship with a person and you must be as sincere as possible with them to get to know each other, if in the future your relationship progresses towards... more>> something more as you explain to the other person who was constantly lying to him or hiding things from him about him, and they are very s*upid and completely unnecessary lies, they range from what his job is, his preferences, to whether his family has money or not, he always seems to have a ridiculous excuse To do this, for example, you don't tell your partner that you work because you think he or she won't understand your job, etc. You don't even bother to think that if your partner doesn't understand or despises your job, you shouldn't continue with that relationship. These things don't seem important, they're just little lies but before you know it your partner doesn't know you at all...

It is also excessively prejudiced!!!! Many times he himself resolved the misunderstandings by thinking about things a little, like a normal person, but he immediately denied it and did not want to admit his mistake because he was convinced that the other person was evil, even though he had no proof of it. I lowered the rating to 1 after finishing reading.
