The story isn't that great. The author do whatever he wants without thinking about his own setting, and that is frustrating for me. Example :

- MC is bullied at home because he is fat and ugly. Strange without context but why not.

- MC is bullied at school too from some reasons.

... more>> → MC still stay a good guy with a big heart. Difficult to be a saint when treated like sh*t IRL, but it's not the first stories doing that, so okay.

- MC get Isekai, get OP, muscular and handsome

- The story explain that MC lvl, stat and stats affect is modern school life too. Like, because he gets more stat intellect, his understood more easily his class. He become so intelligent that he doesn't really need it anymore, he can instantly do calculation at the level of a computer.

→ Somehow, MC still dumb when in come to social. Even so he isn't uses to it, with his intellect stat he should understand the implicit in a conversation.

→ MC stay dense, good nature and idealistic. Not that he should become an assh*le, but it's not realist either if he is able to analyze his environment at the level of a computer.

Having a harem is classic in this type of stories nowadays, but the narratives loop is too visible, even s*upid sometimes. Every time he meet a girl, we have that :

1- MC meet girl

2- Girl in danger

3- MC save girl

4- Girl like MC

From what I read, we have :

Spoiler

1- MC meet girl at supermarket

2- Girl in danger by thugs

3- MC save girl by thugs attack him

4- Girl like MC

---

1- MC meet princess

2- Princess in danger of assassins

3- MC save princess from assassins

4- Princess like MC

---

1- MC meet classmate

2- Boys play football and a ball come to classmate direction

3- MC stop the ball

4- classmate like MC

---

1- MC meet mannequin

2- Mannequin being harassed by co-worker

3- MC save mannequin

4- Mannequin like MC

---

1- MC meet prof

2- Prof in danger from a bear in forest

3- MC beat up the bear

4- Prof like MC

[collapse]

In 3 volumes, no character growth so far. The MC is force by the plot to stay dense, good-natured with low self-esteem. Whatever, he was heavily bullied and became handsome, rich, strong and intelligent in one single night. Not that I want him to become a selfish brat, he could at least being happy, enjoy his new lifestyle, reflect on the behavior of others who change overnight, want to do things he wanted but didn't dare. But no, MC is a Gary sue, he has all the qualities to maintain an absolute equilibrate, to be temperate at 15 years old if my memories are good, or maybe 16. <<less

I caught up with the manga and I am now here continuing onto the light novels. I am enjoying this quite a lot, despite the protagonist being very dense, and the setting playing out as illogical nonsense.

It's cliche, simple, easy to understand (s*upid). The protagonist becomes overpowered due to his Grandfather's things he left behind. The protagonist was originally a bully victim so he has a very low self-esteem, but he still tries to pull moving past revenge and getting on with his life. He is also now experiencing how... more>> it's like to be surrounded by friends that care about him. He can travel between the modern world and the fantasy world.

I hope the romance can progress a lot more as the story progresses, and the protagonist gets less dense.

The story gets a lot more interesting from Volume 6 onwards and things start to escalate..

Spoiler

as aliens and space warfare start getting mixed in

This is a wish fulfillment story. Unlike most other wish fulfillment stories though, this chuunibyou author requires the reader to strongly suspend disbelief multiple times per chapter. The reader is also subjected not only to continual forced plotting, but also frequent deus ex machina and the MC usually ignores infrastructure and environmental costs or limitations. The author ignores continuity rules and requires the reader to forget inconvenient details from prior chapters. As a reader, you cannot use common sense when reading this story or you will give it zero stars,... more>> but if you approach it as a parody of how much can an author do to make the MC "look flashy cool" then you can enjoy this story like some readers do.

In order to make the MC look humble, the author overuses the tactic of giving the MC low self esteem. The author is too lazy to spend more effort and keeps reusing this over and over volume after volume. Even many volumes later, the author keeps sprinkling in the "I was bullied" cliche to try to keep reader sympathy up for this MC. Does this MC deserve all this excessive chuunibyou flashy good fortune? NO. He doesn't decide to do good things out of a personal desire to do good. He ends up doing good things because of forced plotting and how the author keeps handing out rewards to the MC.

In the end, it's all on the chuunibyou author. If you like over the top OP MC wish fulfillment stories with characters having low wisdom OOC behaviours, this is the story for you. If you like continual fresh deus ex mahina doses of big benefits and essentially no consequences for actions by the MC then this is the story for you. <<less

The author introduces the MC as a kid who's ugly and fat and has been bullied his whole life. Everyone at school ignores him or belittles him for his appearance. He gets harassed by bullies each day, and even his siblings conspire with his bullies and harass him as well. Why even his own parents disowned him. At this point you probably realize that the MC is the most unfortunate and miserable person in the world right? Well at least he has his grandpa, the only person to ever treat... more>> him kindly. Oh wait, but his grandpa died leaving the MC a house as his inheritance. Which is fortunate because his parents kicked him out, so at least he has a place to live. After another normal day of being bullied and harassed he returns home and accidentally discovers that his grandpas house contains a portal to another world. After entering the other world, he gains a bunch of skills and abilities, levels up to 100 after one shotting a monster and then returns home to sleep it off. The next day he transforms into a bishonen from all the stats and levels he gained.

The side characters are generic and shallow. The bullies harass MC because he's fat and ugly. The siblings hate the MC because he's their brother, and he's fat and ugly. Everyone hates him because he's a bullied fat and ugly person. Even after the MC transforms into a bishonen, his siblings and teachers still hate him because he exist. Their hatred and motivations aren't explained and they simply serve as a foil to show us how kind, and pitiful the MC is. The students at the MCs new school are simply kind and nice people who all love the MC because he's handsome. Near the end of volume 1, the siblings rounds up a gang of delinquents to cause trouble at the MCs new school in broad daylight. Why??? Because the author decided that's the best way to show off the MC's character development. The MC realizes he pretty much superhuman, he jumps from a 4 story building and proceeds to beat up the delinquents. The MC saves his siblings from getting choked and the delinquents all get arrested.

The MC is rather insufferable as well, mostly because how passive he is in the story. After transforming into a bishonen, good things happen to him one after another. He gets dragged into a modeling photoshoot because he's handsome. A random girl he saved while he was still fat and ugly, finds him and invites him to this prestigious school. All the students he meets at this new school are friendly and love the MC because he's so cool and handsome. What's offends me the most is he's a bland, generic and kind hearted guy. He doesn't seem to bear a grudge or any resentment towards his bullies. He saves his siblings from getting choked, simply because they're *family; even though those little shits treated him like tr*sh and conspired with the same bullies that made his life miserable. Suffice to say, after he transformed into a handsome man, he's simply insufferable and not interesting at all.

Closing Thoughts: This was not a very fun read, even for a wish fulfillment novel. The gorgeous art is wasted on this novel. Read this if you enjoy shallow villains, a MC who conquers all obstacles with ease, a dense MC who doesn't seem to understand how his friends and romantic interests perceive him. Better yet read the manga instead. <<less

The only thing carrying this novel is the illustrations. Everything is too convenient and also most no foreshadowing. But if you can automate your brain to mindlessly read and not bother the plot. Its pretty enjoyable.

Story is good. Translation is superb with illustrations. I have read bad reviews and most of them read up to v4 v6 and give one star. You also know that right when you read fantasy novel turned off your brain and enjoy the story. MC is 'the bullied' in the past so he may not have much confident in himself. Don't call him s*upid he is kind type person. Also, they read 4 fcking books and complain like eating shit. It is like slapping the author face when they... more>> are full. I know right? They give one star if they don't like something. For me, this is one of the light novels that I read up to v8. <<less

I don't really write reviews but this is an exception because I hate it so much,

At volume 1 and 2 I will give 5 star but now that I am in volume 3 I will give 1 star. First of all, at volume 1 and 2 I can tolerate it but now it's f*cking annoying. The author just get all the annoying traits of all the typical MC. Kind to enemies, dense protagonist, cowardly protagonist, don't know common sense, and has an inferiority complex.

How he gets his harem? It's... more>> simple: His body move on his own and he save his girls then they became in love| (or more in love) with him. Even though he show superhuman strength like jumping from a building and overpowering a bear the next day his classmate just act like nothing happen, what a wishful thinking? Isn't that why the story is not developing much. Beside how is he saying that he is not good looking when he can tell that his classmate are handsome? Are you saying that your attractiveness belong to a different category?

Imagine your pretty confident about your face but your classmates is much more handsome than you and he is saying he is not good looking. What? Want me to punch you? <<less

Personally, I don't think novel is as bad as people make out to be.

Is it generic? Yes. Does it involve an overpowered main character? Yes. Does it have a series of cliche's and plot armor-like events to make the main character look good? Yes.

In the end, it's just an entertaining read with a lot of potential to know where it'll end up. The novel also has flawless transitions and doesn't seem to rush any arcs at all. There's good foreshadowing elements and I think the author clearly knows what they... more>> are doing; this novel definitely fits the criteria of the "isekai" novel trope.

The translators translated this novel fantastically in a easy-to-read manner which was extremely helpful overall.

Spoiler

It'll be interesting to see how the main character creates his unintentional harem in both the real and fantasy world.

This is a good example of a novel ruined ENTIRELY by the MC. Everything else is passable/good. Pointing towards a well executed fantasy comedy.

But the MC man, the MC. His opening character is compelling, you understand his desires and conflicts. The issue is he NEVER changes. Going from a broken home to a loving situation would normally impact the character but it doesn't. The story could be top tier if the MC actually had adaptability.

It's one of the worst personifications of a Japanese MC. If you can stomach him you'll... more>> like everything else but if you can't... understandable <<less

This is my first review so I'm not good at describing things.

The MC is a ret*rd. The only thing good in this novel is the fantasy part but even that is destroyed when the princess came in the story. To be honest, I think the story would have been better if there was no other character introduced other than the MC, since he became more s*upid as other people talk to him. (I'm not saying that they shouldn't introduced more characters but more like interacting with other people shows his... more>> s*upidity more and more.)

I think there will be people who think that this novel is not that bad after all everyone has their own preference but for me only the first part is the good part and after that the quality of the story declined. It has a potential but the author let that potential passed by making a s*upid MC and pushy female characters like the princess. <<less

Ok...... Gonna be a bit long. Here it's about a short and fat 15-16 year old Yuuya Tenjou without parents and only owns an old house of his grandfather. Looked down by twin cousins and bullied. Finds isekai door in store room of his grandpa's house.

The main problem is that the MC get a handsome and rugged body in one night but still behaves like shit..... like literally he can't talk without uhm, ah, eh. Like seriously bro get a grip. After that night next day he gets scouted as... more>> one time model. From reading it I can say that the author has serios chuunibiyo. He jumps from 4th floor, fights a biker gang barehanded, picks and spins 80kg+ man with one hand, makes a hole in the floor of shopping mall (literally) carrying 3 uncouncious girls due to fire, fights a bear barehanded (real world), gets proposed by drunk teacher and squeezed in her chest while other girls shouting :NO!... You can't!! (not what you're thinking) and he is like :Am I that bad?... can I cry??

In other world get proposed by a princess, mentally in disagreement but he like ohh... man what can I do? I'm a dense MC.

Later on he gets a skill of holding back but still makes a hole in table-tennis. Like why?..... whyy?

But I only have one question why is his INTELLIGENCE STAT in thousands.

But but but for those who like OP MC he is the OP in every sense and gets hit on by onee-san in real world and royalty in isekai. It's nice I agree it has a LOT of potential but it's ruined by the wimpy MC using skills in real world. For someone who lie OP-ness it's for you. There are a lot of poeple who react like ohhh.... ikemen!!! and soldiers like ohhh..... strong!!! And that too in almost every chapter and sometimes 2 times in a chapter.

Overall had lot of potential but it still is nice to watch for reaction of surrounding people who are there to made the MC look good. <<less

I don’t write many reviews and it’s mostly only to warn others of absolutely s*upid ass novels. The ones who have characters act completely s*upid or change their character momentarily to force the story to go in a certain direction. Well now I’m here to defend this novel because I feel that it’s heavily misunderstood. I read these comments before and stayed away from this novel for years, back then it’s score was below 3.0 maybe it was 2.5. The reviewers told a story of my most hated MC type.... more>> The over forgiving beta, the one who for some reason misunderstands the most simple things. The ones who go “ There’s no way I’m actually strong, the S-Rank adventurer just felt so sorry for my pathetic strength he let me crush every bone in his body and completely ruin his reputation because he was being nice.”

God do those get under my nerves so much, the fact that they’re in a lot of novels makes reading on this site for years hard to do, I just end up rereading a lot of novels because finding one without that MC is hard to do. And I thought this one was similar. But it’s not.

Yuuya’s character is pretty solid IMHO but is just misunderstood tbh. First of all he isn’t forgiving, he hasn’t forgiven anyone yet, he simply did what *he* wanted to do, and he even understood that it’d look naive of him to help, but he was raised by his grandpa to be a good person, and he wants to be a good person so he helped. He explicitly said that “he hasn’t forgiven anything”. Maybe he will forgive later in the novel but I’m hoping it’s be done right. All the low ratings are people who explicitly look for satisfying revenge and got made when they didn’t get it in the first 4 chapters, or in the way that they wanted it.

Also it was said that his teachers neglected him during school so he isn’t very bright, he’s not dumb he was just set up to fail but he’s growing from what I saw from the first chapter, and is starting to build up confidence to match his outside appearance.

Basically this is a pretty solid novel so far so give it a shot, you may like or you may not but it be more for story spacing or you generally distaste for harem novels and their troupes. <<less

Read this if you also enjoy watching car crash dash cams in slow motion.

In a word, everybody in this world is s*upid or an as*hole (or both). The smartest character up until now is the pet wolf. People don't behave in a way that makes sense in-universe. This makes the story very frustrating to read. I'm constantly trying to decide if the characters are s*upid because the author wrote them that way, or if the author is s*upid

Slight spoilers that describe general settings of how ridiculous the people are:

Spoiler
  • The princess is an absolute a**hole. She is separated from her guards and stranded in in 'the demon forest'. Were guards injured or killed? don't know; don't care. The MC eventually rescues her, and the princess is suddenly h**ny for the MC and demands to go back to the demon forest. Her father the king agrees to it. What? it is established in the common sense of the world that the demon forest has monsters capable of wiping out entire countries, and she was already almost killed once. So she demands to be brought back to the demon forest, dragging her guards along, and of course they're attacked. how many were injured or killed? don't know; don't care. The MC rescues the guards again.. and they agree to meet up in the demon forest a 3rd time. WTF. Everybody seems to know the demon forest is scary dangerous, and as*hole princess keeps dragging her guards along. On the 3rd visit, something comes up and the princess tags along w/ the MC and runs away from the guards without further instructions. She spends a night in the MC's cabin in the woods apparently leaving her guards to die. Thanks, a**hole.
  • The MC is an idiot. The setup is he was constantly bullied and not that bright. Fine. But the writing shows the MC is aware of things and still being an idiot.
    • After the MC wanders into the other world, he gets these titles that explains how people get 10 "points" when they level up; visitors from other worlds get 100 points instead. The MC concludes that his skills grows at a rapid pace.. maybe... since he doesn't know how it compares to other people. The title just explained it.. how does he not know?
    • The MC is at a game center and playing those crane games. He uses a hunting skill, weakness detection, to grab multiple toys. So 1) the MC knows the crane game is difficult; 2) the MC uses a supernatural skill (weakness detection) to compensate. The MC then wonders, why are these games so easy? WTF. You just used specialty skills. In a similar way, the MC also goes on a school field trip, and fishes by hand. He uses a skill to hide his presence to calm the fish, and then grabs them. The MC then wonders if what he's doing is unnatural.
  • The assassin is s*upid. She is told that the princess escaped another assassination attempt in the demon forest, and most likely had help. Learning of the princess's re-visit to the demon forest, the assassin goes out to the demon forest, is attacked by monsters, and is rescued by the MC. She decides to train with the MC and does not realize MC also helped the princess. It's already established that the demon forest is dangerous, and nobody goes there without good reason. What are the chances that there's 2 random, un-related people just wandering around the demon forest? not that this is definitive, but for a highly sought after "famed assassin", she is awfully un-imaginative.

Nice TL group and solid reader (the people who commented ty for the chapter)

MC's attitude I guess still have a little problem, but he began to gain confidence and all in the later volume. The romance kinda sucks tho, only from girls side, hope he graduated from being a donkan protagonist..

If you're ever thinking of picking this one up, DON'T.

Going by the synopsis, it's really interesting. A bullied kid finally gets a lucky break and has a chance to better himself and his life, but that's where the good things stop.

I expected something similar to "Going Back and Forth between Earth and the Other World" or "I Won 4 Billion in a Lottery But I Went to Another World" but boy was I wrong.

Everyone is as one dimensional as the MC is "innocent" and dense. You could use his inferiority... more>> complex to power the world if being slow brained and "shy" made energy. He understands he'd received OP powers and he's probably one of the most physically strong and impressive people on earth and yet, he's more than just shy.

He's so pliable and without distrust or his own thoughts that if you spoke to MC for long enough, you could convince him to agree on anything.

Sure he's been bullied but if he's THAT bullied past the point of ab*se, he's got to have some grudges. No one can be that naive.

Now that the MC is over, the plot itself at first looks good. Then you actually read it. I've read enough LNs, WNs, CNs, and KNs to enjoy a lot of wish fulfillment novels but this has got to be one of the worst implemented. The setup was very dark at the start and yet the MC is still the traditional poor moral MC even after everything. It doesn't make a lick of sense.

I'd rather not spend more time thinking about this considering this is my first ever review, and one I believed I had to make to save others the waste of time they'd have in attempting to read this.

TLDR: Don't even disappoint yourself trying to read this. Try something else like "Saving 80, 000 gold coins", "Going Back and Forth between Earth and the Other World", "I Won 4 Billion in a Lottery But I Went to Another World", or even the more light hearted "Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear." <<less

the initial start of it was good and I can appreciate a story of a bullied and unfortunate person rising up to the top being acknowledged and admired by the people around him, it is also filled with generic tropes which will make other readers dislike it but that itself is still fine for me since I am still hooked in the story. Though it started to get old and uninteresting from the v2 onwards, not to mention the decisions and interactions which are getting dumber and dumber like the... more>> novel was written by a 15 year old. So I can only say that its decent at best if its somewhat a fresh experience for you as a reader but the MC really kills the excitement with his incomprehensible attitude/seemingly non-existent intelligence and I dont recommend it even for a casual read <<less

It's honestly not bad, I read it because of all the bad reviews butit turned out pretty good for an isekai. Maybe better than most since you get a school harem and an Isekai harem at the same time.

The story has a nice flow between serousness and comedy, the characters are just your adverge isekai/school romance characters. The MC is dense to the girls around him and likes to belittle himself. Even though his op as they come.

I recommend that you give it a try despite it's bad reviews.

Okay, I'm giving this story two stars borderline three not for what it is (which isn't really much) but for what it could've been, because this is the prime example of an excellent idea being poorly handled.

The concept is simple yet very interesting: a miserable, fat kid, bullied by classmates and his own family finds a mysterious room which leads to another world where he can learn OP skills and use them in the real world to improve his own life. However the author seems to be a one-trick pony... more>> as they only use the same formula over and over and over; MC meets love interest, the douchebag in turn threatens her and MC solves the problem flawlessly with OP powers, making the girl fall in love with his oblivious ass.

To be fair, the story has some good points worth mentioning:

Spoiler
    • The Protagonist: Despite what other people might say in the comments, the MC is actually one of the very few strong points of the story. He has been bullied in every aspect of his life by every single person he knew except for his grandfather,
the only person to ever treat him as a another human being, so it's no surprise the MC has some crippling inferiority complex that haunts him all the time and no ammount of OPness can fix that sort of trauma right away. Dude is an insanely talented and handsome guy, but because he was dragged through the mud all his life, his self-steem is basically non-existant and he just can't see any worth in himself other than the skills he got in the other world, and that's a consistent topic on the story that's pretty realistic because, if you're raised to believe you're nothing, you will believe you're nothing no matter how others might see you.
    • Portrayal: This is mostly my personal opinion rather than a unbiased analysis, but I find his approach to matters ratter refreshing. Lately, there have been a flood of three blends of MCs that plague literally every Isekai story: the overconfident but lazy I-can-beat-you-all-but-don't-wanna protagonist; the sadistic, near psychopathic blood-seeking revenger who want kill everyone and everythingno matter what; and the brooding non-caring badass who only cares about his harem. 95% of all the Isekai storys that have come out in the last five years can fall in those three categories, so I find it as a fresh breath of air a genuinely kind and gentle protagonist (although painfully dense) who tries to move on with his life one step at the time than having him seeking revenge against those who did him wrong.
    • The "normal" slice of life: The story can be said that consist in two plot simultaneous, his life in the other world living as a hermit in the most dangerous place ever, which is rather dull and predictable, and his life in the real world, which is plenty more interesting. it would be normal to think someone bullied would rather go where he isn't bullied and make a new life there, but instead he picks the th**ny path and decides to keep living in his world altogether with the Isekai life trying to make the best of both sides... not that is particularly difficult when you're ridiculously strong and your face makes women get wet when they see you but still.
    • The pig: The best character this story has to offer and that's not an insult by any means. Best boi.

However the glaring flaws the story has as a whole doesn't compensate for them.

Spoiler
    • OPness: Dude became the strongest bastard on earth just by swinging a spear way more heavy than what he could carry, but because the spear had the OP ability to pierce and insta-kill anything the user deemed as objective, and at that time it was the strongest monster of the most dangerous place on earth, his status and level went through the roof on his first kill and he also casually had an skill which made him learn any ability just by trying it once, which also made him an expert spearsman just from that exact same kill as well, but because of that sudden increase in level his body has to be transformed so he could keep up with the skills he got, making him a handsome eye-candy... see the problem? I wouldn't have had any problem with him getting that strong or hot if it had been done propery, timing his progress and growth with his experiences and hardships, but right off the bat? No thanks.
    • Predictability: Definitely the worst part of the story. The plot is way too linear; a problem happens, protagonist stumbles upon it, he solves it and a new harem member is added to his party, and this happens in both worlds!!! There's no feeling of rush or danger because you realize it's all pointless cuz the MC is going to solve it and a new damise in disgrace will fall in love with him and it becomes tiring after so long.
    • Pacing: Everything happens too fast. Him getting stronger, the romance, the school life, the battles against the monsters, the baddies getting their desserts... the author most definitely has a lot of ideas for every volume, but because they want to cover too much, they don't delve too deeply into anything, which in return causes a "uhm okay, so that's it?" vibe to the story.
    • The romantic interest: Too 2-dimensional. Not gonna bother with them because they're just textbook applications of love troopes written for the MC's unnoticed attraction. If anything, the only one worth mention is Kaori, a rich girl and his benefactor who is kind of the one most developed out of all the romantic interests.

In summary, this is pure unadultered self-fulfillment plot and not even the best out there, but if you're a fan of that type of story or you simply have nothing else to read, give it a try and waste a couple on hours on it. <<less
