The novel is quite interesting, and tries to be technically correct even when it gets a bunch of things wrong (for example, mixing 1 kg of antimatter with 1 kg of normal matter would yield only 43 megatons, hardly enough to "end all life on a planet") and while it has it's cringe moments it's good overall...

By ending before the story truly end, I mean that the MC never finish the fight with the alien. He only manage to kill 1 alien spaceship by sacrifice the mars. So the author probably have no idea how to win against them. Furthermore MC recieve a dust that is from 11th dimension. But the story end without the MC even use it. Also, MC sacrificing himself by faking his dead on his main world. So now he stay at post apocalyspe world (facepalm). How the fk you want to win the war if u fake your own death. Just read atleast 6chaps and I'm sure you'll agree with me. All those who give this thing a 5-star rating are weird people.

I'm writing this post because of all the negative comments I have been seeing, which I consider very unfair and insane.

First the world building, considering that we are talking about both present and future, I believe they are more than well developed, of course there could be further discussions about it, but as I have red before, it would be too tiring and boring to continually read descriptive paragraphs like that.

There are consistent to their nature, yet present personality development,... more>> they change and improve, both the MC and side characters, to this point I haven't seen a character that was randomly introduced without future propose, except the disposable villains that we could care less and even them are not easily forgotten.

About the s*x and harem girls, well I don't know if the translator is getting rid of particular contents, but to this point I haven't felt any kind of confusion regarding the storyline. Furthermore, I can't say the protagonist is a s*x deviant, after all he doesn't f*ck every ni*ga he sees, if you read properly, he even got rid of nasty situations exactly because he refused invitations, and even though there is many girls that belong to him, he haven't f*cked half them, and it's not because of lack of opportunity.

I also saw somethings about racism and let be clear, the MC is very respectful to both women, Mediterranean religion, etc. Although there is some stereotypos, they are part of the world building and storyline, you can't consider them the opinion of the author, since the protagonist is more likely to represent his instance and the MC is very polite to all kind of cultures. And the supremacist mindset is never denied in any moment, and further, there is moments where the author openly admits its presence, you don't like that's it.

Anyway the story is very well written, I can't see to find plot holes, there is even moments where the story reminds me of things that I forgot chapters ago, everything is very consistent, and if there something confusing, it's all right, the author is gonna clarify in some chapters. <<less

Interesting premise, I don't mind that it borrows from Fallout and other apocalyptic genres. World building is so-so, doesn't delve much into it even past Chap 90.

Major problem with character development. MC is pretty useless, has no redeeming qualities/talents/virtues. It's fine if MC just wants to be rich and successful, but it keeps ****** you wonder why MC is randomly being given this opportunity to cross worlds and borrow technology/resources from each side. He is only a human mule moving resources between worlds.

Then he keeps collecting more women. It also wander into loli/semi-pe*ophilic areas, probably from the s*xual fetishes of the author and readers (around chap 85+). Interesting concept/premise but ends up being pretty tr*shy. The world building is a just mish mash of existing tropes. Nothing original. It's just like any sci-fi, zombie, xianxia, or military setting, but combined together. The author would somehow also forget about details of his own world. The plot is about building a harem and becoming more rich/powerful. On repeat. No real end goal. There's no tension and enemies are beaten fairly easily.

The author writes some situations in an awfully convenient way. This way, the MC can "outsmart" the enemy. But... more>> the strategies themselves aren't really that ingenious. The first part was still okay, but then the MC became a successful next-level business man?? The way it was written oversimplifies what running a business is actually like and felt lazy.

Somehow all the girls simp for the MC even though he has nothing going for him other than his money/power. If this was supposed to be realistic, his harem would be full of gold diggers, not girls who love him. But then again, most harem protagonists in novels/manga would never attract girls in real life. At least this MC is not pathetic and dense like other ones.

This novel had potential but the author bombed it. He should have concentrated in fleshing out the details of existing characters and organizations instead of adding so much new stuff that he couldn't keep track of it himself.

If you want a wish fulfillment novel where you can attract women and gain power with no effort, this novel is for you. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. <<less

Honestly, this novel was so close to being a masterpiece, as there are so many things it does right compared to other CN webnovels. Although it has flaws, I think I've been so used to seeing shittier novels that a novel without those shitty qualities is too refreshing and might make me a bit biased. Although, unfortunately, it has two jarring problems (mentioned below) that made me remove a couple of stars.

Pros:

• • Well-defined and simple setting (MC has the ability to move between modern Earth in around 2016 and a post apocalyptic Earth around 150 years in the future)

• • Real growth (personality-wise and personal power)
    • • MC starts off as an anxious and weak-willed guy and eventually becomes someone who is able to take control of his own life and plan far ahead. The MC himself also reflects how much he's grown during moments of introspection throughout the novel too

• • Plenty of struggle that makes the growth meaningful and memorable
    • • The MC's ability has many constraints and he isn't completely overpowered, which requires a lot of foresight
    • • His overconfidence bites him many times and leads back to the previous point with personal growth

• • Good pacing between action and slice of life

• • Really interesting political dynamics and socioeconomic problems that do an excellent job of mirroring the real world
    • • This also ties into the relationships between many countries such as e.g. The US and the middle east and how richer countries fund wars or cause instability to influence economics

• • Neat interspersing of the novel's fictional backstory and Earth's actual history, going back to WW2
    • • I had to look up so many things to determine what was fiction and what actually happened, but the author really did his research for many things

• • Awesome technological development
    • • There are many interesting pieces of tech or tech sectors that are developed throughout the course of this novel and the author also did an amazing job with researching and breaking down the problems and requirements for many of them (although not everything was entirely accurate) and the novel spends a good amount of time tackling these hurdles in a logical fashion

• • Love interests are useful and aren't just wastes of space
  • Male side characters are also not just useless foils that make the MC stand out

• • Not sure if this is also considered a con, but the apocalyptic world is quite literally the universe of Fallout by Bethesda
    • • The con is perhaps the lack of originality with the setting? But I haven't seen any other popular books or fanfics for it, so this was awesome and refreshing for me since I love the Fallout world
      • The whole theme around the people in the apocalypse warring based on the ideological differences of supremacy vs purity vs harmony was really interesting too

• • Although abrupt, the ending was satisfying and happens at a decent point in the novel before things got stale

• • Solid translation quality

Cons:

• • MC basically r*pes innocent women
    • • r*pe is a form of psychological/emotional as well as physical torture. If the MC/author tried to justify it by doing this to mortal enemies in order to break their minds and have them confess critical information for example, then I can somewhat understand it, but the MC does this several times to women who both aren't a threat and who the MC is basically trying to turn into an ally simply because he's a h**ny piece of sh*t
    • • The best part is that after this happens several times, 2/3rds of the way into the novel, the MC states that (paraphrased) "he never forces anyone to do anything they don't want to" in the context of having a girl he previously r*ped sleep with him "willingly". F*cking ret*rded.

• • A couple of the "women" in his harem are likely under 18

• • There are many examples of racism, although it's not overly jarring as the places where it appears is brief. All hostile foreigners will refer to asians as "yellow monkeys" in an attempt to make it seem like every powerful foreign entity has utterly no respect for asians as whole. Maybe the constant denigration is because it's a Chinese web novel? Similarly, black people are insinuated (or maybe directly stated, can't remember) to be s*upid and primitive in the Apocalypse version of Earth

As you can see above, there are a ton of good qualities to this novel, but the cons are generally in the same vein and will understandably put off a lot of people. I have mixed feelings about this novel because the cons I mentioned are so utterly easy for the author to have just simply not written. All the other elements are in place for this to have been a wholly fantastic novel, but alas, the MC (i.e. Author) decided to let his own perverse s*umbag fantasies bleed through and tried to justify it in a half-assed fashion. I chose to just pretend they didn't exist and ended up thoroughly enjoying the rest of the novel, but I believe many readers might not be able to do the same.

TL;DR: If it weren't for the cons above (mainly 1 and 2), I would give this novel a rare 5/5. Unfortunately, I don't even know what to actually rate this since I can't determine how many stars to take off, but I'm going to go with a 3.5.

It has a lot of intriques and politics involved, especially in the modern world where every conflicts bring about a fresh feeling instead of repetitiveness. We also got a good amount of action from the MC when he got to apocalypse side.

The ending of this novel is also good, it really close the novel in a proper way and open up a passage for sequel

All that said, it does come with some downsides. Like I said, the early part sucks, it may be because this is the author first novel? Whether that's right or not, I can feel that amateurish writing and it does bring about some annoyance. Fortunately, the writing grows.

The other downside, that I also feel is the biggest, is the side character development. In your usual wuxia novel, this is not super important. But when managing comes into play, this become critical. For some part, it is covered by the harem members, but overall it really is lacking. Finding people to take care of the MC's kingdom is not as simple as picking someone and appoint them. The author also lacks that overview on organizational support system, it's there, but it's not properly structured and conveyed, which kinda make me feel unsatisfied when it comes to seeing a properly working organisation.

Well, be that as it may, delving too deep into the organisational aspect may make the novel boring and even with all the downsides, I find the story flow fun, totally worth the read. <<less

Now, if you're looking for some light reading with elements of:

• A realist protagonist, tackling the fantasy setting in a realistic way

• mature elements, with a side dish of politics, and a dash of human philosophy
• and a post-apocalyptic fantasy setting

The story starts with an arc which is kind of a prologue of the story. Once that is done does the story expands. Just don't expect the author to explain everything.

There are historical, as well as scientific, and philosophical references as well. So inquiring minds will be rewarded when they dig deeper on these references. Examples are "Sword of Damocles" or the "Golden Apple", or even the loosely-based klein particles.

Anyways, it is worth mentioning that there are rarely any cliffs on this series. One can read the chapter and be done with it. Which I kind of appreciate, especially when compared to other series (ISSTH, RTW, IRAS are quite notorious when it comes to cliffs) <<less
