“You’re coming too, aren’t you?”

It was 11:00 p.m.

Ordinary highschooler Yamato Kuraki runs into his classmate on his way home from the convenience store, a beautiful girl from his school known as the Saint, Seira Shirase.

Draw in by her invitation, he spends time with her in the downtown district in the middle of the night, that moment marking the beginning of their bond.

Their first game of darts, trading CDs, and hopping from ramen shop to ramen shop…

As Yamato spends more and more time with Seira, who sometimes leans on him sweetly while at other times showing her mischievous side, his dull everyday life begins to bloom with color.

“I’m really glad you came along with me that night.”

Thus begins a sweet and precious story, full of youth and love, shared with a Saint who was always just being herself—natural, gentle, and sincere.

This is your quite generic rom-com and not, at the same time. Let me explain-

Not generic -

    • The interactions between our main leads are quite spontaneous from the start, and most of their outings follow this trend. which I like, quite a lot.
    • No love rivals- (as of vol 1) there are no rivals in the story. This is entirely about two adorable dorks basking in each other's company.
Generic -

    • The conversations are really plastic and forced. The author can create great situations but really fails at delivering dialogues, most of the time the people don't even seem to be human.
    • The FMC is your all rounder, most beautiful girl, which can quite literally do anything. Be it sports, studies, she excels at them. But this is quite ok and doesn't have a big impact on reading, but the next one...
    • The MMC. *sighs* The MMC is really not tolerable, he gets flustered (really flustered) at the slightest touch or peek of our female lead, Talks about how girls shouldn't get out late at night (he was worrying about her, but still). He really (again & again & again) likes to bring up about how he isn't a good match for the FMC or about how she does not see him that way. It gets quite annoying to be honest. He does get character development, but frankly that isn't enough.
All in all it's an okay story, not groundbreaking but also not bad, is a quite relaxed read.

    • Don't get baited by the cute illustrations... the plot is shit.
    • MC is a wimp and a simp (my god I've read a lot of wimpy MC but this guy beats them all, and simp cause this guy just "yeah that sounds about right"/"all good" when the female lead does anything questionable and smiles at him)
    • For the love of god that's overly descriptive description for a high schooler girl to a point that I felt weirded out by it.
    • MC doesnt attend school for months and what was that dumb ass reason for that? god damn one can only be so s*upid... and what were his parents doing (mother) ? That kid clearly needs mental help.
    • What's that superwoman female lead lol, yeah adding a directionally challenged would balance all her other stats :v
    • The cliche bad guys surround a high school girl... the whole execution was shit
    • There are other similar type of novels out there read those this is honestly a waste of time.

This is a really enjoyable fluffy romcom. The tone of the series is set just right with a comedic undertone that makes this series such a pleasant read.

What sets this romcom apart from others in the same category are how natural the interactions between the male MC and the female MC (Sayla). From their first outing together, the writer has made it clear that the two obviously enjoy each others company and they obviously have fun hanging out with one another. I also like how the author of the series... more>> has composed Sayla's character. Her considerate nature is a true highlight for the series giving her character some great depth.

Spoiler

Her considerate nature is made clear throughout the fifth chapter of the first volume where she is shown to be mindful of how the MC will spend his money after he mentioned earlier that he was running out of funds. She then tries to help matters by giving him a haircut so he would have to spend money on it.

Honestly it's not really a 5 but amongst all the other jap bullsh*t this is actually decent. The MC isn't checking any of my hard-trigger marks and even though he is a bit pathetic it's not beyond redemption. The girl is well in a way your usual super-woman but she has her moments of reliance on the MC so I am willing to tolerate it. Unless some actual tr*sh drama happens it's totally worth reading.

The translation is good so I really hope that the translator will continue with this novel.

I greatly enjoyed this story, the blunt and straightforward FMC and the kind yet awkward MMC. I like their relationship and I have expectation of how they would go from here on out, I like other characters as well. How the MC thought of Shinjo initially feel relatable for me hehe. This is not really a proper review, I just wanted to say that I like this story. Thank you for the time for anyone reading this.

This is going to be my first ever review so sorry if it’s weirdly formatted but - this is just not interesting - I mean sure I can see maybe how some people might like it. Definitely a turn your brain off kinda novel and I do enjoy those but the MC is just so pathetic. I’ve seen my fair share of novels and romance novels and honestly there’s just no way anyone would even be interested in this guy at all. It’s a loser fantasy. And a bad one... more>> at that.

the MC has zero redeeming qualities- zero personality- and negative appeal. The only thing that’s interesting here is the super woman that’s the Female lead but not even she can carry the story with such a Lame MC <<less

Decent story. The beginning is mostly like other stories in the same genre. MC is a dull guy, FMC is a perfect goddess yada yada.

As much as the emphasis on it feels lacking, there are a lot of moments in the story where the MC manages to be honest or take action because of the relatively casual relationship between him and FMC, which is at the very least more than what I can say about a lot of other main characters. Because of that, although the progression in their relationship... more>> is a bit of a slow burn, it does not feel rushed and their feelings don't feel unjustified, which is a problem I have with a lot of these kinds of stories.

I only have 1 real issue with the story, and that is that the ending feels ever so slightly rushed:

There's a confession, and then the story just timeskips to who knows how many years later, where all the hardships that caused their relationship to take so long to develop are just miraculously resolved with "Anyway, we worked hard and now we're here". While elaborating on it too much would've been bad and made the story feel too dragged out, it feels like the author could've at least dedicated 1 or 2 chapters to them dealing with the aftermath of the circumstances around their confession, especially since the situation was pretty messy and really needed some cleanup afterwards.

A very nice read and also very underrated considering a lot of worse stuff gets way more attention.

The FMC character is interesting and MC while being a average guy is someone who cares for the FMC a lot and actually takes action to be with her rather than being all flustered or stuff. He also shows growth throughout the series which is really nice to see.

It's an amazing read and while I do think there are faults here n there a little. The story was conveyed beautifully in 4 volumes.

Overall... more>> a very nice read if someone wants to have a good read of slice of life while seeing the characters growing and tackling their problems.

The ending was also very beautiful btw! <<less

This series is pretty underrated. In the earlier volumes, the MC is weakish and is a wimp, but towards Volume 4 (and especially the later chapters, albeit those haven't been fully TLed yet as of writing) he really actually finds the courage to act on his feelings and emotions, and actually mans up to take action, showing that he really, really, really cares for the FMC.

Currently reading midway through the last chapter as I'm reading this, but with how things are panning out, it looks like there's gonna be a... more>> really good ending and epilogue. <<less

Alright.. The story is quite generic. For fluffyness seeking readers maybe they will like it but just like the other generic romcom where MC is a pathetic, lonely, awkward guy with seemingly not even a real problem, doesnt even makes an effort to change it, maybe it's a Japan things. The FMC is adorable, reliable, with mature aura (the story potrays it so) the illustration for her also 5/5. That Imma say her character is too good. This is such a generic a beautiful female student with problems who is... more>> kind to the wimpy/pathetic MC.

If MC is even a little bit interesting as Hikigaya from Oregairu who has balls even this he is pathetic and an intellectual. Or cool loner like Tomoki from There's no way a side character like me could be popular. Or Tomozaki-kun who has passions even tho he is a loner. Or some other romcom I could name. This MC is dull to comparison the only thing that is interesting is the FMC to be honest. I'm generous with 3* only bcus of fMC.

You guys can read it the story while it's generic it's good, the fMC is good and the illustration is great. The only thing hindering me from going on is the MC. He got his moments where fMC relied on him yes that's true. But they're also many faults about him that I can't ignore. He is plain. <<less

Amazing Novel, amazing illustrations! I really like the vibe that this novel has, and how the main characters seem content and happy. It has a calm and atmospheric feeling that is extremely relaxing! Definitely one of my favorites that I have re-read over and over without getting bored.

Ignore the star review. I didn’t want to rate a series when I’m only this far into it, but I just have to say something.

I get that the author wants to write a wimpy MC that develops throughout the course of the story, but there is a bloody limit. The MC, Yamato, seemingly can’t even function as a human being. He constantly apologizes, gets flustered by everything, and is obnoxiously standoffish. I’m 6 chapters in and I have yet to know a single thing he’s good at or even any... more>> of his hobbies. What is he supposed to be?

Meanwhile FMC is just good at everything. She’s beautiful, she can fight, she can sing, she has a good sense of fashion, she has money, she can play a gazillion games perfectly. The MC constantly mentions his inferiority complex and how his “male pride” is hurt being around her, but in order to demonstrate it, the author gave us 2 CARICATURES from the opposite sides of the spectrum.

I can see a glimpse of something good here, with some of their exchanges and teasing being actually decent, and the motive of why they started hanging out is good, but I’m sorry, these characters are just not interesting. The MC has no personality, as if he’s characterized entirely by his flaws and nothing else. The FMC is a textbook Mary Sue, and reading her just feels like the author is one step away from yelling at the reader “She’s going to inspire the MC to change and be like her, just continue reading!”, and while it’s a valid message, it’s executed terribly. <<less
