Echoing Marcus's sentiments, the bad reviews on this story are very misleading and misrepresent the story entirely. This is a perfectly good piece of fiction.

The MC doesn't hide his powers, it's literally the opposite. He hides why he's strong because his power has a big weakness.

The story doesn't make him "s*upid" for dramatic tension. There literally isn't dramatic tension, all misunderstandings the story's characters have about him are very comedic and lighthearted. He is not a "eunuch" just because he doesn't throw himself on the female leads, there hasn't even... more>> been much romantic progress from the side of the female leads so idk where that complaint comes from.
Spoiler

(Not to mention the fact that he's still mourning the girlfriend he lost in his past life)

[collapse]

He is not even remotely a "s*ave" to the original plot. He tries to maintain status quo behind the scenes so the world doesn't fall apart, but in no way does he try to keep the events the same.

The story in no way portrays the MC as an objective good, in fact the world itself has a whole lot of grey.
Spoiler

A scene another reviewer brought up is how the enemy kingdom wanted to assassinate a ruthless general of the empire that exterminated towns if he felt he had to. He was set to appear in a public stadium during an event, and the enemy kingdom wanted to use that as an opportunity to kill him... by blowing up the stadium and killing thousands of empire citizens as collateral. The MC stopped that plan because A. thousands of innocents were going to die and B. the general would be useful in the future and C. it could reignite the war.

[collapse]
I do not like the fact that the other reviewer disingenuously criticized that scene completely misrepresenting the themes of this story and the context of what was happening in it.

Give it a shot. It has good character writing, a healthy amount of funny moments, interesting dynamics between the characters, and plenty of "cool" moments for the MC to capture your attention. It's a fun experience. <<less

I almost lost a novel that I liked due all reviews had low stars,

It's fun, someone said that the protagonist didn't care about the maid poison him, but that's wrong, the protagonist misunderstood that she tried to poison him, the real culprit is later revealed.

The protagonist tries to keep distance of the saint as said, but at the same time says that's why the protagonist know the original character as someone that act with a fake mask for the public, currently not know if that's true but seems to... more>> be not the case.

Give a shoot. <<less

The story premises is that he (the MC) already destroyed the plot by applying to the academy by mistake and kicking out the original protagonist (by elimination)... and he acknowledged this more than once, but for some absurd reason he is still obsessed with keeping the plot "intact"... and you know what this is not even the problem.

He is sooooo passive, and contradicting... he is okay with keeping the spy heroine around him and don't even mind when she attempts to poison him (false accusation), but he reject vehemently the... more>> approache of Saintess heroine... why?, because she is a "threat" to his plans... anyway, the point here is how he can't keep consistenting behaviour.

And his passiveness manifest in his way of dealing with trouble, instead of dealing with the bomb before it was even detonate, he choose to risk everyone life (including his) by dealing with explosion instead, and instead of getting rid of an inhumane and cruel general, he choose to save him from the assassination instead and risk the life of a few thousands of innocent civilians because the f*cking lunatics on the opposite side are desperate enough to kill thousands of civilians to kill just one individual, what a f*cking mess is this?

There is nothing to like about this novel for now, the MC is passive and inconsistent, the protagonist is will-less cold-blooded killing machine, the academy is lacking in everything essential to function as proper academy, the kingdom camp consists of cowardly and cruel people, the empire camp consists of arrogant and also cruel people.

The only the heroines are good, because they haven't done anything extreme yet, I hope that they at least will be the rational part of the story, but... I will not bet on that. <<less

While it seemingly had potential to start, this rapidly revealed itself to be a tr*sh novel. In only 25 chapters, the author managed to pack in every garbage trope imaginable - "hide my powers" because "reasons, " d!ckless eunuch MC, turn MC s*upid to create dramatic tension, and s*ave to the plot of the original story (this one only comes in at chapter 25).

It is a pretty good novel, There is a clear goal which is to stop the world from ending which is cliche but easy to understand. The characters have funny interactions and this is a novel where the MC has a cheat skill but is very restricted which creates good suspense wondering how he will get out of deadly situations. Many bad reviews are bashing the MC's personality but if you read through the novel it's seen that the MC is just a human (Who would have guessed!) and can't... more>> be a magically cool and perfect character that many expect in this genre of characters having superior knowledge. I also saw some people complaining that it is MC's fault that characters are bad but if they thought about I would never think a story I created would magically come to life. Throughout the novel, the MC always points out that the characters are just text he created and are tools and not people. I hope that will play a role when the MC has to come to terms with the fact that the novel characters he created are people and not text and he has to accept that and grow as a person. Overall pretty good only slightly annoying part is the number of misunderstandings but they are done pretty well so it's bearable.

There is also a mysterious third party who are the final villains and the second continent mentioned at the start that I am excited for <<less

There is two way to read this novel. If you read it thinking the author and MC is normal in the head then you will give this a 2 star. If you read this to view into how someone with PTSD, inferiority complex, paranoia, and borderline personality handles a transmigration then this is a 3.5 star.

The MC is an author with mental health problems who get transmigrated into his failed novel. Now he has to survive the avatars of his mental problems. Each of the characters there is a representation... more>> of his own guilt, fears, love, and trauma. This fact is not obvious but the author sprinkles hints about it throughout the novel.

As the story progresses and you see the circumstances of each character, you'll realize how much of a tr*sh the MC was to write them like that. But might there be any hope of redemption for this poor man? No idea but I got tired of reading about his complex issues. It might be easier to read the psychology text book than this. <<less

This review contains very minor spoilers that shouldn't ruin your enjoyment of this novel if you do decide to read it.

Let's start with the core issue: this story heavily relies on misunderstandings, and not in a good way. I kept reading, hoping things would improve, but instead, the misunderstandings only became more forced and artificial as the story progressed.

I genuinely dislike forced misunderstandings, but I might've been able to tolerate them if not for one of the main characters — Erica. She's easily one of the most insufferable characters I've... more>> ever encountered in fiction. The author introduces her as a genius prodigy, but her behavior contradicts that entirely. In practice, she comes across as a self-righteous, arrogant fool who seems completely detached from reality. Right from the start, she arbitrarily decides that the protagonist must have sold his lifespan to a devil in order to outperform her academically, and she never lets that go. Despite having no evidence, she becomes fully convinced she's right. Even when confronted with information that challenges her belief, she performs extreme mental gymnastics just to maintain her warped view of the situation.

The protagonist didn't do much to win me over either. From the moment he ends up in the world of his own novel, he displays an overconfidence in his knowledge of the characters, bordering on arrogance. The irony is that he's frequently wrong about them. He insists on viewing everyone through the lens of them being his creations, refusing to accept that he never truly understood them to begin with, and that they're capable of growth — especially since his arrival has completely derailed the original plot.

Lastly, the power system deserves criticism. The author seems determined to keep the protagonist dependent on the system. Across the 50 chapters I've read, even though the protagonist trains daily — often to an extreme degree — his stats never improve due to the training itself. The only gains he makes come from rewards handed out by the system. This makes no sense, especially considering the story repeatedly claims that stats should increase with training.
