A Devon Corporation board member, founder of Team Rainbow Rocket, reverse-type master, World Championship winner…

Legendary Trainer Lu Ye recalls the scene of his very first livestream and sighs nostalgically:

A fun pokemon fanfic that is ruined by the author's inability to write compelling female characters.

Women blush and fanboy everytime the MC does anything, and their descriptions and interactions are the bad kind of wish fullfilment. A professional reporter blushing because the MC answered a question? Regret over a woman not taking off her high-heels? What am I reading...

If you can ignore the ever so slowly increasing IV-drip of degeneracy the author pumps into their novel, then it's a really good and enjoyable fanfic. Unfortunately, I can't stomach it any... more>> longer have decided to lay this otherwise very enjoyable novel to rest.

Read at your own risk. Not recommended. <<less

Chill pokemon fan fiction. The MC wakes up one day to realize that he's now in pokemon. Since it's "real life", a lot of cheese strategies havent been discovered yet, so he makes YouTube tutorials on how to get your opponent to rage quit the battle. The translation is ok, there are some errors but you can easily understand what they're trying to say using context clues. Sometimes the names are wrong and all that but it's not a big deal. This story falls into a category of misunderstanding comedy that I like, which is the type where the person legitimately has skills. Our MC is a pokemon nerd and actually knows a ton about pokemon; the misunderstandings spring forth from that core detail. I personally enjoy this type a lot more than someone just bumbling around and then causing everyone to misunderstand when the person themselves is just bs-ing. Note: For some reason Chapters 41 and 42 lead to a completely different novel's chapters. If you're not in the mood to find some 'unofficial' translation, then all you need to know that happened in those two chapters is
Spoiler

Gastly wins and takes off his everstone once he gets home. MC tries his hand at making food, and Gastly starts evolving in the middle of eating.

it's a nice light hearted read, tho kinda need to turn of ur brain at times and just a bit annoyed that he doesn't wanna be a trainer. just going with the flow kind of guy....

Spoiler

his starting pokemon is a Gastly whose very enthusiastic about training then a tsundere Eevee.

from what I read his Gastly basically self studied all the time with him providing items like pokeblock, firestone, TM, training guides received from champion trainers.

there's this fan group chat cause his battle tactics are way advanced allowing them to gain insights like red, blue, green, gold, Cynthia, brock, basically well-known trainers

Chill fanfiction. Pretty laid-back.

Plot rundown: Man gets transported, or rather the irl world and Pokémon world combined together. This changed a lot of things like history, etc., so on and so forth. MC was a renowned online Pokémon player in the previous world, but despite being popular after the merge, he basically became unknown albeit still holding 7th in the leaderboards. He then basically he streams the game online. A lot of well known tactics irl like poison stall, subseed, etc., are lost to the new world, as it seems... more>> that trainer mortality rate is high, making some of MC strats new, or if it existed, a lot more polished and insightful to the people. This attracts big shots to his stream. You can guess what happens after.

A lot of inconsistencies though, like getting Erika and Yellow's names mixed up. Pokémon names sometimes get swapped around too, so be wary of those. It doesn't make it unreadable atleast, but it could be jarring. For example:

Spoiler

During the Jirachi arc, Giovanni mentioned the meteor shower as a ritual for Giratinas summoning but it's already been mentioned that it was supposed to be for Jirachi. Or Haunter making gengar sounds or when Ghastly was called a Haunter in the earliest chapters which can make it sliiiiiiiiightly confusing. Just a tiny bit really. Somes tuff like Wide Eyes instead of Baby Doll Eyes etc., but nothing so bad that it ruins the story

Overall, I recommend for a quick read. A bit of a cliche with the misunderstanding trope, and the MC having op mons but I can let it slide just because it's f*cking cute and makes me smile. The characters also feel alive and not really bland... so far, atleast. <<less
