This novel is a collection of stories disguised as a quick transmigration. It is a nice novel to read when you have nothing else to read.

This novel introduce our FL as someone who is an agent awaken from reader's high emotion for the side character. The first story did well introducing us to the ML and MC who were unjustly ruined thanks to the hero and heroine of the story. I thought that this meant that our MC will be possessing pitiful characters with unjust end but next story shows... more>> actual decent hero and heroine with the MC possessing a girl justly destroyed by the heroine. And the mission was a bit silly imo.

With that premise, you would think that all supporting characters will receive justly end but nope.

1ST World: you have an emperor that abandoned his other kids and wives to have a little family and have the only kid he treated as truly his own be the next emperor because the Crown Prince is bad. And while I agree that the Crown Prince isn't the best but he was put in that position hugely thanks to that fart father emperor. In fact the entire political issue is all thanks to him. I just feel it's off putting to see that in the end everything went according to his wishes and have his favored son take the throne.

The second world introduce a pitiful father who is too coward to discipline his daughter.

So I only read the ones I like. <<less

[Please note that this review is made by the translator of the story, so it's bound to be biased. Not proofread so expect lots of typos/grammar mistakes. This will be updated when I have the time to write more.]

I love this story. It's been some time since I last read it, so I might have forgotten some details and get some of them wrong, but my opinion will remain the same regardless: some arcs were great, most were good, and some were iffy to read—but the great and good ones made me push through the iffy ones and eventually decide to translate this novel.

The male supporting characters, who turn into the male protagonists in this novel, are fleshed out well. The author did well in adding depth to these 'male supporting characters' and giving them life beyond what the original storyline had fated for them. They also don't read like cardboard cut-outs of each other, and even when they have similar personalities, the authors did well in showing their differences in the decisions they make. The two things that they all share are the way they all eventually fall in love with the main character, Ah Luo, and the way she gives them a happy, or at the very least happy-ish ending.

The main character is different. She isn't a real person or soul, and is merely a consciousness created from readers' feelings of anger and resentment. Her personality is influenced by the personality of the female supporting characters turned female protagonists that she merged/fused with, and she couldn't do anything that'd break her character/persona, either.

Here's a detail that I might get wrong: there are some instances where Ah Luo wishes she could do something that would've broken her Su Luoyan's persona, but I don't think this ever really happens again for the rest of the story, but please correct me if I'm wrong. My theory is that in the first arc, Ah Luo is still influenced by the readers' feelings more, but by the next ones, she already follows the female protagonists' personalities to a T. Sometimes, they're in sync with her own traits, but sometimes, they don't. Moreover, she forgets her last world immediately upon entering her current world, so she isn't influenced by the last world's female protagonist's personality, either.

Because of this, I think this story reads more like a short story compilation rather than an actual QT story. There are no real connections between the arcs except the name, Ah Luo. With that in mind, I've opted to make my review arc-per-arc.

Spoiler

The element that made some arcs feel a bit iffy is the dubious consent in some arcs. While yes, the male protagonists end up liking or enjoying it, or end up falling in love with Ah Luo, that doesn't change the fact that at that moment, their consent was dubious and arguable. I'm still conflicted regarding this, so I won't say much and I recommend you reading and deciding for yourself what you think about this aspect of the novel.

Some of the arcs are also too short for me—so short that they feel hurried and unfinished. This is a common issue with a lot of QT stories. QT stories that don't have this issue are hard to come by; and sometimes, they swing too hard to the other side and end up dragging it.

Arc 1 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In one sentence: It's perfection; #2 reason why I decided to translate this story.

Spoiler

So the story is about Su Luoyan, the legitimate daughter of the grand tutor. She's perfect—came from a good family, has a calm personality and good temper, if reserved due to her familial upbring, the ancient era-expectations that she has to uphold as the daughter of a high-ranking man, and due to her education as the future crown princess and eventually empress. However, her betrothed, the crown prince, prefers her half-sister over her. Following a near-drowning incident, Su Luoyan was pretty much totally 'discarded' by her betrothed, even though he's already been neglecting her before that.

Now, what I love the most about this arc is Su Louyan's personality, which influences Ah Luo. She's reserved and inarguably a proper young miss before her marriage without a single rebellious bone in her, but that fits her character setting; once she's married, though, we see her character setting shift and Ah Luo has more freedom to do things with her husband. After her marriage, Ah Luo became more open, and she becomes very communicative and reassuring to Wenren Jin—traits that I think are Su Luoyan's influence as well.

Wenren Jin himself is a highly lovable character. He's also reserved and shy, despite his strength and his father's boisterous and jolly personality. Like Ah Luo pointed out it the story, he's gone through a lot of pain due to his blindness growing up, and it had taken him a lot to become the perfect man that we see in the story—and we can see the toll of these in the story. He can be insecure, and he feels unworthy of Ah Luo at the start of their marriage, though these insecurity and worry are eventually communicated and resolved. He also eventually becomes a total girl dad, so that's another +1 for him from me.

I love the way this arc's end wrapped up things neatly for everyone, which is also the reason why this arc is the longest arc in this story with 25 chapters.

Arc 2 ⭐️

In [more than] one sentence: Nah. This one is just anger-inducing to me. Maybe people who like taboo romance would like this (and if you're one of them, don't read my longer review of this arc below) ; but I'm not one of them. I've liked my fair share of taboo romance but this one is Not It.

Spoiler

See, I don't hate master-disciple romance. In fact, it's one of the ones I like best, when it's handled properly. The trope of a master (regardless of gender) failing to treat their disciple well and then the disciple throwing it back on their face and them having to win their disciple's heart back (then ultimately succeeding, because HE is #1) is great, whether in the context of romance or not. I love that trope, AND THIS STORY COULD'VE BEEN A GREAT INSTANCE OF IT! Instead the author makes Lu Cang (the ML) RAISE THE MC AFTER SHE'S BEEN REINCARNATED AS A CHILD! She didn't even have her memories as an adult. If not for the other arcs later, collectively, making up for it, I wouldn't have bothered translating this story, solely because of this arc.

There was also the matter of dubious consent...

I know that these tropes (i.e. dubcon and love interest raising MC) aren't exactly uncommon in C-novels. In any other QT novels, I would've sighed and swallowed it silently. However, after the great treat that is the first arc of this story, it just becomes such a major letdown that I couldn't help being massively disappointed with it.

I don't have the energy to type more. I just dislike this arc so much.

Arc 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spoiler

The age gap between MC and ML (MC is 26, ML is 19) gave me the ick. When I was reading this arc I just blocked out that detail from my mind.
