It's ridiculous that this has received such low reviews. All I can say is.. If you don't understand something, don't just be nasty as a default mode. I Recover Like Crazy seems like an early story in the career - hopefully we will see tons more. It seems to be a Noir Superhero type plot but I have a feeling there will be some fun little easter eggs. I really like everything about it so far - even the little awkwardness at the beginning during the set up, which might be translator too. Paint by numbers with no gimmicks or good qualities to stand out. Just completely average.

Our hero is emotionally stable i.e. Has all the emotional magnetism of a wet sock. He's clever, but not actually that clever since most of his cool strategies are just isekai foreknowledge. His superpower makes him pretty much invincible unless there's arbitrary kryptonite, so he uses it to train himself to exhaustion and thereby kicks everyone's ass. Standard stuff.

There are half a dozen heroines with just as few personality traits as our hero. They all like... more>> the main character, usually to the extent of being stalkery possessive, but at the same time they are unable to express this to him. Just as well, since he's either totally indifferent to or ignorant of the affections of all these sexy cardboard cutouts. Why do they like him? Because he helped them out once when they were six. Literally there are three such heroines and they appear back to back. Arguably four if you count the older detective catgirl. I can look into my crystal ball and see that none of these relationships will ever be consummated, or even really develop to the point that a character might need to have a conversation about an emotion.

What really annoys me is something that could have made this stand out just a little if it hadn't been flubbed. One of our heroines can see the future, or something like that, so she muscles in on the isekai protagonist's usual thing of buying up superweapons ahead of time. Meanwhile our hero knows that a character in the book has this exact power. So what's he do? He runs up to her, asks her point blank if she's a regressor or another transmigrator or what, and when she just reacts in confusion he just goes, ah well, guess it's not important that someone who acts like they can see the future appeared, probably a coincidence, buh-bye! Later he all but recognizes her as the book character he knows, but rejects it because she's a shy girl instead of the tough guy he's expecting. Our hero is supposed to be clever, but he's unable to think "gee, a bunch of other stuff is different, maybe this is too?", or failing that, to react in any way at all to the existence of someone who obviously knows the future.

If all you want is something formulaic than go ahead and read this. I mean that sincerely, it's competent enough at what it is, but what it is bores me. <<less

I''m not far into the story yet, and thus will refrain from an actual star rating, but feel the need to mention how absolutely confused I am. One second the protagonist is talking to this girl in the slums, the next we get a super short chapter about her background, and next he's... somewhere entirely different? With a gun, killing gangsters? There's definitely something missing here that's leaving me wondering what the hell is going on. I hope that chapter 3, the short chapter, was actually just cut or something,... more>> because if not then this is genuinely one of the worst "jump cuts" of any story I've read. Still, it's interesting enough that I wanna push forward, even if I feel like I skipped 10 or so chapters within half a second.

I found a different translator, seems Greenz didn't upload all of chapter 3. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've experienced something like this with their translations, so it didn't take me long to figure out this was the case. Maybe 10 minutes at most. For anyone looking for the missing half of chapter 3, and potentially any more missing chapters going forward, Noblemtl has them in... "passable" quality. <<less
