I was about to become part of a party of heroes. But the coins I received as compensation for giving that up skyrocketed in value, and the guys around me started eyeing them greedily.

To put the plot simply it’s a “what if” situation on introducing cryptocurrency to a world that hasn’t even had stock trading introduced yet, and then inducing an economic crash on a worldwide scale, where the MC is one of the few (more like just him and one more) who barely escaped the crisis and then having to help clean up the mess.

I can’t comfortably rate it highly at the moment, because while I did enjoy parts of the story, there were a lot of things I didn’t like, such... more>> as

1. The average intelligence of the people in the novels. The commoners are one thing, but even though the author tried to explain it, I still can’t believe the vast majority of the people in positions of power believed wholeheartedly in the cryptocurrency, enough to throw all their life savings at it, or barring that, never considered how to pay back the money when the hero succeeded in saving the world and everyone starts cashing out (if they were thinking of using alleged treasures from the demon king to pay out then it’s especially more dumb) especially when the hero himself didn’t show a positive first impression.

2. The amount of money being thrown around here is really crazy considering it’s supposed to be in a pseudo medieval setting with magic/aura. How is each coin being able to be priced at 9 figure ranges and yet you can have students somehow being able to afford it? When the MC’s fiancee’s dad’s (high prosecutor) annual salary is apparently less than 2.5 million? Even if they had bought it early, in consideration that just 9 coins is a lot more than average to be able to obtain, I find it extremely hard to believe that so many people in the middle class/slightly upper levels in terms of financial capability would be able to possess a coin and then all fall to ruin together. I get not minding the small details, but this is way too far a stretch, considering your main plot and first arc all revolves around it. <<less
