I tried to create a traditional Japanese Webnovel title for this series, but it turned out a bit more Light than expected. Ba-dum-tis. *Crickets. Ah, tough crowd.

Anyways, this story looks promising. Sure it has a lot of the usual tropes. But it's not tropes or cliches that matter, but how the author uses them, how the author does worldbuilding, character development etc.

So far this series uses them for setting. MC is a thief with a sense of responsibility even after serving in hero party. But he she still is unashamed about her profession and the things she did. Like blackmailing a noble family to for her allowance as a kid. To having no qualms about backstabbing, torture, and other underhanded tactics. There's no malice, just doing business and whatever tactic works to get it done.

And yet, MC seems like she is a decent person. One who might take a job to assassinate a family elder, but who might be willing to help an elderly woman take her groceries home. She used her knowledge/expertise to expose a corrupt noble during her hero journey. She showed digust at learning the true reason for the heros reckless plan (and how it was cummy behavior). Her means and plan after robbing the hero party was carefully calculated to be effective revenge, but also not cause collateral damage.

So in short this MC is not afraid to get her hands dirty. Or be a bit quirky and

. MC is bummed and uncomfortable becoming a woman, but she even looks at it as a advantage of how she could use it to become more effective with her job, and how the changes improved her ability control.

If the story continues to meet its potential I think a lot of people will find this MC a breath of fresh air. Something new to explore within this clichéd genre.

And for those who care, this is not a isekai. MC is native to the fantasy world. No mentions of hero summonings or what not.

It was pretty entertaining, but it wasn't really that good plot wise. The premise is generic, the Hero is suspicious, and the story is pretty slow rn, but I don't think it'll get much better.
