There was also the “Prince” from the family of their biggest client, who accounted for 80% of the firm’s revenue—he was the youngest son of the CEO of Xinhe Group and was rumored to hold grudges like no other. Offending him was out of the question.
The only person who seemed somewhat manageable was a small-time connection hire, Xu Shijia.
Despite the internal and external challenges, the “Prince” surprisingly behaved well and treated Lin Shu with respect. Ironically, the most rebellious one turned out to be Xu Shijia.
How could a minor connection hire act so arrogant?
In order to assert her authority, Lin Shu didn’t hold back at all and refused to tolerate Xu Shijia’s bad habits. She fiercely put him through a “re-education” process, completely putting him in his place.
Until, at a banquet half a month later, Lin Shu watched as Xu Shijia calmly walked up to the CEO of Xinhe Group and casually called out, “Dad.”
What?
She had mistaken the “Prince” and disciplined the wrong person!
Thankfully, fate hadn’t completely abandoned her. Lin Shu unexpectedly discovered that this “Prince” was actually her high school classmate.
“Lin Shu? I’ve always remembered you. We were high school classmates.”
High school classmates? And he still remembered her? No wonder he had seemed somewhat familiar!
Now that he had brought this up, wasn’t it just giving her a way out of the awkward situation?
It’s fine, he could still be useful! Maybe he wasn’t as vengeful as she had thought!
Lin Shu sincerely said, “In that case, we classmates should take care of each other from now on.”
Later, the “Prince” certainly did “take care” of her—so much that Lin Shu felt like she could barely go on living.
It was only then that she realized what he hadn’t finished saying back then:
“When you were the disciplinary committee member, you caught me on purpose over a hundred times, didn’t you?”
“And even after graduation, you kept teasing me. It wouldn’t have been so bad if it stopped there, but that night, after hooking up with me, you just left—what was that supposed to mean?”
“Luckily, I’m not someone who holds grudges too much. Even if you’ve offended me, I’ll only remember it for a few decades or so.”
Lin Shu: …???!!!
Damn it, this guy holds grudges more than she ever imagined!
Much later, Lin Shu and Xu Shijia were in the middle of an argument.
Lin Shu, furious: “Aren’t you supposed to hold grudges? After all I’ve done to offend you, why are you even in a relationship with me?”
Xu Shijia coldly refused: “I won’t break up with you until I’ve fully avenged myself.”
Lin Shu: “When exactly are you going to be done with that?”
Xu Shijia: “I only hold grudges for a few decades, so avenging them should take, what, a few centuries?”
