Tang Li is a little mermaid with a damaged tail.

While other mermaids have shiny golden tails, Tang Li’s is warm orange and he has never been able to transform into legs.

Suddenly one day, something called the System tells him — he’s a little mermaid with a Koi Carp buff, able to bring good luck to those around him.

As long as he obediently completes system missions — bringing good luck to the strategy objects in each world — he can save up lucky coins to exchange for the props to transform into legs from the mall.

In order to transform his tail into legs and set foot on the continent he has long yearned for, Tang Li starts laboriously heading to each world to complete tasks.

Finally, hard work pays off for the determined fish, and in the last world, as a soon-to-be-born hatchling, Tang Li sits in the egg, counting on his fingers —

(〃’ω’〃) Soon, he’ll be able to save enough props to transform into legs!

The eggshell cracks open, and a little light and damp seawater gradually envelop Tang Li. A group of “ferocious” “mermaids” appears before his eyes.

System: “Oops, darling, you’ve crossed into the wrong world. The mermaids here are extinct; only Sirens remain.”

Tang Li: QAQ?

System: “Your strategy object… is none other than the Siren Crown Prince who seems the most unapproachable, T▽T”

The siren Crown Prince Shen Yaochuan has a cold and reclusive personality, the star system’s only SSS-level output-type mental power despite his young age, he was injured in war, leaving him disabled and with severe mental damage, causing everyone to keep their distance.

Meanwhile, a still unhatched mermaid hatchling struggles to swim up to him, dragging himself and his eggshell together to present to him.

The Sirens have recently hatched a soft and fluffy hatchling.

The hatchling’s tail is warm orange, his hair soft black, his size just that of an adult Siren’s palm, a single finger can make him teary-eyed.

Someone discovered — this seems to be the last mermaid hatchling left behind by an ancient planet!

【Guide to Consumption】

① Not a fast-wearing text, only this one world, 1v1 without children

② The disability of the attacker will be cured, and the fish will grow up 0v0. The fish is palm-sized in the early stage and adult-sized in the later stage. In the early stage, raise the hatchling, and in the later stage, fall in love. The fish initially disguises as a young Siren, but later reveals the truth.

③ Raising the hatchling text, daily flow, more interaction. When the fish reaches adult form, the romantic storyline begins, and in the middle, they will separate. The fish grows directly into adulthood, and the attacker only falls for the adult fish. Because it is a text about raising the hatchling, the hatchling stage will be longer (emphasis added). If you don’t like raising the hatchling, be cautious before diving in, and don’t push or criticize. Respect others’ preferences and stay civilized.

④ The attacker starts in a self-destructive state due to his disability, but is slowly healed and motivated by the fish, eventually eliminating the research institute of the antagonist.

⑤ Private setting: mermaid – gentle – healing ability, Siren – max combat power – output ability. In this world, powerful Sirens evolved from gentle mermaids in the struggle for survival. The mermaids are extinct, and the hatchling is the world’s only little mermaid.

⑥ There is live streaming + barrage to raise the hatchling together. The fish needs live streaming to earn cards for exchange coins. Without live streaming, he cannot exchange for legs. Other spoilers won’t be mentioned. If you don’t like live streaming elements, you can stop here.

I'm a sucker for mermaid themed plots so this was right up my alley. I'm glad the novel didn't become a world hopping one because I'm a bit tired of that trope.

The plot itself is very sweet, if you like cub raising, this is for you. The cuteness was through the roof.

If I had to nitpick, I'd say there's one aspect of it that I dislike and haven't seen anyone talk about it.

The broadcast aspect of the plot was too much for me, especially in the latter half of the plot. It just felt super invasive. I never really liked "systems" as a trope because it never really adds much to the plot to have a system commenting and spying on every intimate moment. And it's especially bad here because for whatever reason, the MC has to "livestream" their life to some unknown astral audience. So now you have both the system and like 100+ strangers watching the MC and ML. Like that's weird? In the beginning, it was fine. There was a reason the MC had to broadcast (to earn coins). But in the latter half? Absolutely no reason to be broadcasting your personal life with your loved, especially if the other person is still unaware. The author tried to explain it as "oh but now it's the only way to earn coins so now the MC HAS to broadcast" but imo, after the MC gained legs, there was no reason for the system store to exist. All the "buffs" were so useless in the end, it hardly made an impact.

I do so desperately wish the system and the "broadcast" function just disappeared when the MC went back to world because they became so superfluous near the end. It just became such a big ick near the end. It just would've been a cleaner story without the system and broadcast imo.

That's probably my biggest gripe about this novel. Otherwise 10/10. I did read the other reviews and while I can see why people may feel sympathetic to the ending of the minor villain, I don't think it's fair to say the ML "allowed" the villain to enter the institution. That's vastly misremembering the plot. Every consequence the minor villain faced was them facing the consequences of their own actions.

Luo Chen beating them up into a coma? The consequence of the minor villain trying to sell out Luo Chen. It would've come to light regardless of the MLs actions. Like no one forced the minor villain to try and straddle two boats by allying himself with Luo Chen of all people.

Them being inducted into the institution?

That happened because the villain tried to "ally" with the institution to "sell" the MC. They went to the institution, trying to "set up an alliance". They didn't need to do that. They could've just relied on the whatever funding their family gave them to live their life well but still chose the sleazy route. It even says in the novel that the minor villain KNEW the institution was not a good entity and still tried to ally with them. Likes that's crazy. I'm glad they got rescued by the ML and the ruan family but yikes..

I'm in honest disbelief that anyone can be sympathetic to that guy but if there's all kinds of interpretations....

Anyways rant over.

Leaving a review here because it's a good novel (so far) and there doesn't seem to be a lot of readers at the moment. I MTL-ed it. I will say when the author said it's mostly about child raising, they weren't kidding. They separate at around 200 chapters and MC comes back after 3 chapters. Romance starts then. I came in looking for a fluffly, cute novel so I'm very happy but if you're looking for romance right off the bat, this might not be it for you.

The plot is great. It makes sense and there is a clear storyline. There are a lot of foreshadowing happening but it didn't really go anywhere. The main villain, the research institute was killed off in like 3 chapters after so much anticipation. We didn't get a major showdown, it just was "Oh and they're gone" sort of situation. Their relationship is very wholesome. Can't say much about how good their romance because I personally didn't like it. There was really no build up. MC leaves, grows up (go back to his original body) and then he likes ML now. There wasn't any hints or tension between them beforehand. Their relationship was mainly family like and then suddenly, "MC was actually thinking about getting together with ML the whole time". It's the same case with ML. When MC goes back, he makes the decision of not telling ML he was the kid because he wants a separate identity where ML can actually fall in love with him without having that familial love in the back of his mind. Great concept, love to see it. 3 chapters in, ML knows he's the child. He decides he likes the MC even though he knows he was the child he raised and the mental conflict for that was resolved in just 1 chapter. Even the example given by the author to the ML of why it's okay because it doesn't match in their case!
Spoiler

Basically, ML is conflicted and sees one of his friends get together with someone he knew when he was young. He asked his friend about it and his friend said, yeah I knew him when he was young but we lost contact and now he's all grown up and can make his own decision about what he likes. Great reasoning, problem is ML's friend didn't raise his lover from literal birth to 7 years old. They were in a group home together when they were both kids, separated due to school and then met up when they became adults. NOT THE SAME!!!

[collapse]
Not to mention, he finds out MC is the child and that automatically equates to "MC was always an adult, he somehow got into the egg and turned into a kid". We get no reasoning on how the ML reached that conclusion and this is like the first 5 chapters they met after being separated. I read the tags, I know what I'm getting into but I just wish the execution of the romance, this mental conflict, finding out MC is the kid, etc was more well done. Honestly would have been happy even if the whole book was just child raising with no romance because their relationship was adorable during those times. Like if they get separated for some reason, MC comes back still as a child and they become a permanent family. Honestly, still would've worked because both MC and ML lack that sort of family love and found family is always a nice trope. MC is so cute. He does come off a bit like a child in the way he's very naive and innocent, even though he is supposed to be an adult. It works well for him now because he is in an actual child's body and there isn't much he can do besides stay in character but those traits are still there when he's in an adult body and it's a bit hard to watch. The author's explanation for this is that he's always been lucky so he hasn't really experienced a lot of the dark, gloomy parts of life. Not sure how good that explanation is because according to the novel, he's been multiple different worlds where he's most likely been in weird situations so he really should be a bit more quick witted and clever than this. He's very much that pure white character where he's never been in love or have any experience and he knows nothing about romance. It doesn't help that we literally saw him as a child for 3/4 of the novel. ML is great. Honestly a green flag all around. He's very caring and respectful. He understands the responsibility he has, whether it's towards the MC (when he was a child) or his people. His past is tragic but it's really nice that he's able to separate the institute and the general public. ML would make an amazing father. He puts in so much effort into making sure MC has the best childhood possible.

I do have to say though, I feel really sorry for the minor villain.
Spoiler

I don't really like Xu Lianhua but I don't think he deserved to be treated like that. I understand that his actions weren't right like being in a relationship with someone knowing they're engaged. But once you know his past and his reasoning, you can't help but feel bad. Him knowing ML is the protagonist of the world was a mistake by the main system. IF he didn't know, he probably wouldn't have tried so hard and be involved with Luo Zhanan. He was just trying to get on the ML's side. Yes, he went about it the wrong way but with his past, you can kinda see his thinking process. I wouldn't say he's a good person but no one deserves to get beaten up to the point of getting into a coma. He was so injured that he lost his mental strength. And then he was sent to the research institute, the same place that is doing human experiments and torturing kids. I couldn't believe ML allowed this knowing what he went through there and now what Xu Lianhua will most likely go through too.

[collapse]
This was the first time I side-eyed the ML because nothing he did made him deserving of that sort of ending. He honestly was just a casualty between ML fighting his family. ML could have saved him and he didn't.

The theme is world hopping but it isn't. Live streaming but not too much just in the fifty or so chapter and the rest is scattered.

Slow paced and sweet story. There is a green tea but not really annoy just like a butter, suddenly the green tea is gone.

If you don't like slow pace this story isn't for you
