I can't read this anymore. I came for the plot, I left.. Because of the story. It's too ridiculous.

Now for the objective part:

I liked the plot and I was wondering how it would develop, so I kept reading it. I can't anymore. This is not action or drama, so it's understandable that there's not much action, but the plot could've been developed further. And it wasn't. It gets boring pretty quickly; Heesun's past becomes irrelevant and is not used. Also, she doesn't act like she was a Demon King. She's... more>> pretty much a normal teenager.

They mention ranks, luxury, and Korea too much.

There's also a deep hate for Japan. Every action that is made by a Japanese is made, apparently, without thinking, and has the goal to bother Korea.

This could've been a good slice of life novel if it wasn't fantasy and if it didn't focus too much on unimportant things.

As some other user said, the reencounter between Lee Heesun and her father is not realistic. Not one bit. After 19 years of being apart, it takes a long time to form a bond. Such a special one, too. <<less

In addition to blatant nationalism, this novel is rife with xenophobia. Practically every chapter has a paragraph badmouthing and/or portraying Japan as a villain. Seriously, I don't mind reading a paragraph or two of the old Korea/Japan conundrum, but this is ridiculous, this reads more like old-fashioned nationalist propaganda than romance, disgusting.

Not to mention that the construction of the story so far is extremely poor.

Okay, usually I don't even bother with reviews because I have set my standards for novels nowadays to abysmally low, but this novel managed to get even below said standard.

I know this novel is tagged slice of life and comedy, but that doesn't justify the novel being 80% filler and just 20% of actual progress in a chapter. Even though the MC is 'supposedly' a 'reincarnated demon king', she still behaves like an insecure highschool girl with daddy issues, and said daddy issues is that she's overly clingy to said... more>> dad.

I do like family bonding moments sometimes, but good lord this novel filled almost 60% of each chapter with "Dad&Daughter reunion moment", that's not accurate from what I've known. When your supposed dad came back 19 years after abandoning you and your mom until you even forgot his identity, he could came back one day, have around 2 hours of sob storytelling, and everything is fine? NO, NO

I am convinced whoever wrote this novel actually has their dad left them and now they're coping with it by writing this novel, with some elements of fantasy to bump the word count. <<less

I was looking at the reviews thinking 'come on, it can't be that bad'... It is that bad.

Author is sooo anti-Japan, it overshadowed everything else. ... more>>

I mean, don't get me wrong, as a seasian, I get where they're coming from, but maybe it's because of the writing??? You'll understand what I mean when you read around chapters 9-12, but it's getting blatantly racist and severely nationalist, plus the whole KOREA REIGNS SUPREME!!!! dialogue really ruins the vibe. I'm here to enjoy myself by getting immersed in a fantasy world, not some real life political history shit.

I left out my rating for now as maybe the book just started off on the wrong foot, but so far, I don't have that great of an impression of it, and I don't see myself eagerly catching up with every update. <<less

Although I agree that the Japan focus is pretty marked here, one has to remember that things DID happen in the past, and it left a social effect.

For some it could be healing (like the victims descendants) or an eye opener (like japanese people that try to forget the sh*t their country did) to read things like this.

Showing something doesn't mean glorifying it, it's just putting something in the front so it's remembered.

... more>> Remembering something gives us a chance to don't repeat the our mistakes.

Circling back to the story, it's expressed that the ninja guy is utterly deranged, he's not shown as being a sample of general consensus at Japan.

As for the FL, I don't think her personality is bad or mismatched for her current physical age.

One has to consider that living in violence doesn't bring growth, usually, the contrary tends to be the case, for most areas.

Besides, she didn't live this whole life remembering it either, so her psyche is bound to be different anyway.

As for the plot, for me the pace is fine, it got stuck on chapter 39, which sucks because I would like to continue.

I don't understand what does people expect to advance on such a low quantity of chapters though... I would say there's a lot of information and happenings up to that point...

The nationalism hate on the comments...

One has the right to express it if wanted, and others should respect it, as with any other sentiment/opinion.

As long it's expressed in a positive fashion (meaning not used to insult others without reason), of course.

Sure, people are born somewhere presumably at random, but that doesn't mean one can't/ shouldn't appreciate the good things it brings, no?

On this train of thought, knowing history and current trends from all around, one can compare pretty well, as long there's an effort to.

There's no law against it, in fact I think it would be good if people were more fond of where they are.

For example, where I am, people talks sh*t all the time.

But from a rational standpoint, where I am gives people a lot of chances and things most places don't have.

It's just people are stuck on very particular issues and can't see the rest. I find that utterly ridiculous. <<less

There’s only a couple chapters translated so I don’t have much to go on. I like the initial premise because it’s pretty unique or I haven't yet read a similar story of a female or male main character for apocalypse/dungeon/hunter genre.

Shes a reincarnated demon king but it was forced by her dad in her past life and she remembered it all. Her mom was also reincarnated but whether she has her memories is unclear at the moment. The system ended up finding out her past nickname and she has her original powers.

.

Overall it seems very interesting and I hope this continues to get translated. <<less
