I clearly intended to run away from the academy, so why am I receiving a commendation for being a role model for teachers?

This is an over the top misunderstanding comedy taking place in a fantasy academy.

The story begins shortly after the protagonist helped out a powerful figure. As a reward they offered him they offered him a well paying job with great benefits. Upon arriving at his new workplace he realizes it is as a professor in the academy of an academy novel. He wants nothing to do with all the trouble that it will attract and wants to resign right away but thinks he would appear to be a foreign spy.... more>> He then resolves to get himself fired to escape the academy. This is his main goal throughout the novel. He will do something that would generally be perceived as negative and it will end up turning out well for him in an absurd manner.

That's pretty much the entire novel thus far. There are some light plot developments and fleshing out the world/characters but this is primarily a comedy with one bit. I describe it as an over the top misunderstanding comedy because the resolutions to his various attempts to get fired are often quite impactful and ridiculous. It feels like the world is twisting itself to give him good results. I found it entertaining enough to binge and multiple plot conclusions got a laugh out of me. The newspaper headlines in particular will often get me. I will admit to being weak to misunderstandings so this was up my alley.

The protagonist is of course weaker than everyone thinks he is but he has some skill with magic, particularly on a theoretical and intuitive level. His actual mana pool and talent is low. He's not a particularly impressive physical specimen and isn't skilled with weapons. Personality-wise he's beleaguered straight man foil to the silly situation he finds himself in. He tries to avoid extra work and complicated things and is too skilled for his own good at talking his way out of a situation.

The two translations by Penguin Squad and Leaf Studio are both solid. I prefer Penguin Squad's translation as it reads more naturally and they seem better with proper nouns and names of spells/techniques. <<less

Plot is good, not great but not bad either, , im ok with misunderstanding troop so this novel is good for me although it would have been better if author isnt shoving girls down my throat every chapter、every new characters and every important characters are girls, example the saint? Girl, someone from the royal family? Girl, principal? Girl, elf professor? Girl, heir to the throne? Girl, a named student? Girl and even the original protagonist who is supposed to be a guy became a girl, and if there is a... more>> man that was introduced it will be either an old man or villain, its like author is making it so that the only "young man" with important posistion is the MC. I mean its not like the spotlight will be taken away from the MC of author balanced the gender of the characters. I hate harems. Someone might argue "its not like MC is flirting with them" or "theres no romance or harem" Just The fact that the author continuously introduced girl characters is already setting the tone to be"harem like" even if the MC isnt seeking girls himself. Its not like the novel will not be able to become popular if you didnt add harem or lots of girl characters, infact most of the popular novels actually doesnt include harem in it. <<less

Fun, light-hearted misunderstanding novel. The cliche was used over and over, if it dragged on perhaps I would've given it a lower score. But it ended before it reached chapter 100. The ending was satisfactory.
Spoiler

the reasoning for the misunderstandings was later explained and while it was a convenient plot device, it was meaningful.

I read it all within a day, it's a terrific leisure read with enough nonsense to make you laugh at the absurdity of it. If you're not looking for something deep and packed with immersion. This is perfect. Short and sweet

Lighthearted and fun read.
Spoiler

MC tries to get fired from his job as an academy professor but fails miserably at it. He tries racist comments towards an interview candidate and turns out that candidate is a demon in disguise. He tries to forcibly change weapons of his students and it turns out that the new one is a tool for training magical enhancement. He achieves merit and respect through these nonsensical takes The old man he helped with at the road is the emperor of the nation. He supports the illegitimate child in the palace for ascension and this child is the hero of the nation while the palace people were manipulated by demons to think she is illegitimate child. He tried to worsen his reputation by stealing but this uncovers the identity of demon in hiding. He achieves merit and respect through these nonsensical takes. We get a bit of backstory about MC and I liked that part. We get to know what MC was like during his 1st life. MC in the first life made a minor change regarding his perception which resulted in a different set of event in flow in 2nd playthrough

Mid, but in a good way rather than bad. It is exactly as it says on the tin, a light hearted misunderstanding novel. The ending was predicatable, the story was basic and the overarching plot was meh. But, this is another novel that once again knows how to quit as to avoid overstaying its welcome. That deserves some points. As for the trasnslation, its readable and some effort has been put into it.

All that being said, 3/5. An average quality, not bad, not great. Had it fallen into the trap... more>> of dragging itself on, I would have lowered the rating. If you like simple stories with misunderstanding based comedy that don't overstay their welcome, this is one for you. <<less

Fun, light hearted novel that revolve around MC that is supposedly lucky. Eventhough it have 'regression' and 'isekai' as a base, the plot didn't really revolve around it aside from 'I gotta run before the main boss come!', I argue it's actually vague if the world is truly a novel since said main character didn't really act like a main character.

The storyline is actually pretty predictable, it follows the cliche 'oh no I reincarnated into an academy novel so I must avoid it at all cost!' except it doesn't take... more>> itself very seriously, the MC tries and fail to get out of the main storyline every single time, and it's explained why later on.

If you want to read something light and funny, this is for you. 10/10. <<less
