To enjoy the last Golden Week of his student days, 21-year-old Tohma Date was heading to a campsite with his three high school cousins. Suddenly, on a mountain road, a dazzling light enveloped them, causing the car he was driving to lose control and fall off a cliff, resulting in Tohma’s death. However, after his death, Tohma’s soul was reincarnated into another world.

“Did I die because I got caught up in the summoning of that hero?”

Moreover, his cousins and younger siblings, enraged by his death, seem to refuse to work as heroes.

“Are you kidding me? You reincarnated me into another world to use me as bait to make the hero work?”

“Summoning magic? No, this is online shopping!”

The activation condition of equivalent exchange involves converting materials from the Great Forest into points to summon items from another world—no, this is online shopping! To purchase convenient Japanese-made products, Tohma diligently engages in gathering and hunting.

Using handy magic and skills, Tohma embarks on a slow life filled with easy survival in the magical realm known as the Great Forest, enjoying an otherworldly reincarnation fantasy.

The concept of this isn't really original. Many ideas are borrowed from other isekai series. The story itself is different enough to be worth reading.

It has the overall feel of a somewhat laid-back slice-of-life story with a focus on cooking. It finds a good balance of not being detailed enough to feel tedious or vague enough to feel half-assed.

I've read to the end of volume 1. That's how much the author has written. As of right now, it's uncertain when it'll continue. The volume was concluded in such a way... more>> that a continuation would be optional and not urgent.

Overall, it's not outstanding, but still a good read.

What bring it down is the translation. This is essentially barely-edited MTL. A lot of machine translation errors have managed to slip through. Some have been fixed, but some new mistakes have also been made. The result is sometimes only marginally better than Google translate, and sometimes much worse. <<less

Story-wise, this novel is very much centered around food with the occasional glimpse on what the cousins are up to. Its very slow paced and only introduces new characters that the MC will converse with around chapter 80

For the translation...

I... Am not sure why this is happening in a lot of novels in this website but the translator keeps on making mistakes.

... more>> They keep on changing genders of some characters and now, around chapter 100, theyre even calling characters a different name.

... Is something thats causing different translators to have this mistakes? <<less
