That description is misleading, to the point I would call it a lie. This is a power fantasy, and a pretty cliche one at that. To give you an example ... more>>

This dude deprecates himself as an 'extra', buts he like the most busted guy outside of the 'main cast'. He's portrayed as strong, handsome, and smart. Straight up he is 2nd or 3rd place in everything while the 'main cast' is 1st in their specialty.

Not only that but despite saying that he is just an 'extra', he treats the other extras as less than him, and since that's true, why say hes just an extra in the first place. Even worse is that he's portrayed as having the talent to rival and exceed the main cast 'but he just didn't put in enough effort' so you know where the author is going there.

Finally, as for why the heroine likes him? It's not some bs backstory unexplained reason. It's cause he (or at least the author believes) acts kind and understanding towards her, which makes sense but you couldn't put that in the description? Why is the MC smart enough to be understanding but can't figure out his actions caused her to like him?

And the cherry on top is that everything I described in the spoiler happens in the first three chapters. That's right, 3. Not 30, or 130.

Beyond that it's meh. The writing is ok. The characters are standard. The plot is about what you would expect. World building isn't really there. Translation is pretty good, doesn't help with the story, but props to them. <<less

This novel is too normal if I have to say. Just a everyday conversation everyday fights and every days romance. Not that I wish him to be overpowered from the start but I wish just a little more in every part of romance, conversation and fights. Anyway I hope author will improve the pace and make it interesting. Till then I will put it in my wishlist when comments about this novel like it took pace from certain chapters comes then I will start reading again

Not enough of the novel is translated to properly judge it but I just wanted to make clear that the other review is straight up lying or at least misrepresenting stuff.

Yes, the heroine likes him but she likes people quite quickly. There are no romantic feelings. Those don't only come later but also make sense for the MC not to notice because he thinks she is in a budding relationship with another guy.

She isn't but her overly friendly behaviour led her to accept invitations that in noble society are seen... more>> as accepting someones courting.

Which I'd argue is a c*nt move of the guy that asked her because he knows she doesn't get it but hey, it makes sense the MC does not get that she likes him. <<less

It was an enjoyable read. Was it bad? No. Was it good? Also, no. However, it was enjoyable, to say the least. The story doesn't have that much depth to it. Like, it doesn't have a good identity, but other than a romance with a sprinkle of fantasy. It doesn't know what it wants to be as of right now. It also had pacing issues, really bad pacing issue (not exaggerating.) The author fails to execute a good climax on each arc, and the build-up on each of them is... more>> disappointing.

For the characters, it's still quite early on, so I can't say for sure but there's at least some sort of depth on the main cast. But hey, the women are interesting here. The novel was heavily carried IMO by the
