I'm dropping this novel on chapter 23 because of the obvious logical mistakes. Somehow, 100 dresses are equivalent to 20 years of a dukedom's budget?? How does that make any sense?

She never questions her fall into another world. Accepts it way too easily while her life back in our world is surprisingly a good one. I'm sure she has friends or family; she doesn't even panic when there is a possibility that she will never see them again.

Anyway, for now, most of the story is FL having catfights, and those... more>> are about nothing interesting. The way the author writes conversations is so cliché that you can guess the next sentence. I normally read this genre for cliches, yes, but this one has no personality.

The duke likes her way too easily than promised. They don't even know each other yet, but the cold duke secretly adores her suddenly... Her behavior also doesn't fit the story. She doesn't do her job well. Instead of helping to investigate all she does, eat, sleep, cat-fight, and take a bath. I feel like the author couldn't decide what her role or character is. It switches so suddenly that I'm not sure it's a joke or a mistake.

This was only the fifth chapter and I admit that I'm totally attched to it.. Our FL is smart and sharp, beautiful and funny.. ML is straightforward but kinda cute...i love the fact that she was transported rather than reincarnated. And I felt satisfied that she have the actual reason_not lame excuses like other FL_for why she has to seduce him. (yeah! That scene is priceless).. In conclusion, it is so much fun to read this novel. This novel is interesting, hilarious, enjoyable and precious..?

The first few chapters were fun and interesting but as it goes on I can't help but think that the FL is a bit s*upid on her actions. I wish she would learn some things in the current world or gather information on her own so that she could defend herself from the noble ladies. I admire her acting skills in some unexpected situations but I felt that she could do better if she knows more of her opponent before she attacked. Even though the duke asked her to act... more>> like a woman with no culture at least learn the basic etiquettes or rules or info about the world she were in. I find it irritating that she just idly spend her time doing nothing and always being save by the duke in the battle of arguments within the ladies. The duke brought her to his home so that she can be a spy in the social circle but it feels like she can't do her job very well because of her lack of knowledge. She was suppose to act as an evil woman but I can't see any acts of an evil woman from her. She is a woman from a modern world and an actress on top of that so I was hoping that at least she knows that if she want to caught the criminal she would equip herself with information. I don't expect the FL to be smart but at least make the story a bit logical. If you were tasked to act as a spy then there should be preparations right? Not just to eat, bathe and sleep. <<less

I'll give this a 4 for its potential. The translation is bad at times and makes things really difficult to understand, and sometimes it feels as though a chunk of text is missing. Very slow paced romance, but it feels like a more honest representation of what would happen if a commoner was paired with high nobility, whereas most other stories either feel fairy tail esque or has a cast of comically evil villains.

Edit: The translation gets better after 20ish chapters, and it's not that bad to begin with.

I love this. The FL is beautiful and smart. But she's not unrealistically OP, she's a very relatable woman. The ML is cool and a good man behind his indifferent exterior. The romance unfolds slowly but I feel it's refreshing after coming across so many insta-love books. If you are looking for a story with gorgeous, intelligent and funny main characters and a healthy love story, look no further!

Came into this needing fluff but not pink cutesy fluff, just josei level fluff if you know what I mean. And this novel didn't disappoint. Granted, I found this novel only after reading all available manhua chapters, so by the time I started the novel, I was already way past hooked.

Anyways, chemistry wise, the ML and FL start with just smoke and then they slow simmer into a sizzle by chapter 99+. Haven't reached boiling point yet, but this doesn't have a sm+t tag. In my view, they both fall... more>> at the same time since it's a slow starting romance, but the ML picks up the game faster than the FL. She's still using the acting card as a mental barrier.

The plot isn't too deep, but it's not too s*upid either. I'd call this a good middle of the line whodunit. It's obvious from the get go that there are a lot of players to the crime (that had already happened before the novel started), and we know early on who's on the list too. It's just a matter of pinpointing the mastermind - who again, is obvious, so they spend a lot of time trying to collect evidence and piecing the detailed story.

I'm not in it for that, though. I'm in it for the slow burn. Which I love. ML knows how to get his lady's attention despite having zero experience on the love arena. Probably the ML card playing into this, but I'm not complaining.

FL is an actress, so she's physically stunning, but I like that as a personality, she's normal. No powers, no hidden anything, nothing but good old experience in the acting business. She's a bit slow on the uptake sometimes, but she's got enough of a personality. Reserved and guarded to most other characters, but treats ML special even if she doesn't know it, and ML is falling all the way for that side of her that treats him special. She takes on her main task with as much gumption as she can muster.

Translations, I have few complaints. It's good.

Overall, a good walk in the park. Don't expect greatness, and this satisfies like a filling sandwich with iced tea. <<less

if there's just one thing I hate, it's the crown prince. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse, he just gets worse. And then more of his disgusting acts from the past gets revealed, he's really the worst kind of human being.

the title of this novel really doesn't give the romance and plot justice. I cried and giggled a lot because of how precious and effortlessly charming the couple was <<less

Came here from the manhwa and I really like the FL and ML's interaction. The FL is using her skills well and there is a genuine reaction to the pairing of a commoner with a noble.

The first few chapters I was a bit angry as to why FL isn't learning the etiquette and she's a bit too aggressive towards the other women aiming for the Duke but it gets better later.

Overall I like the chemistry between the leads and the concept of FL using her acting skills to survive.

This one is amazing! The FL Selene is relatable and funny lmfao. Honestly if I would be transported to another world like her I would behave just like her. The ML Kalcion is cute and is a brick of ice who only knows swords and work and it's amazing to see how he falls in love with her slowly. You will definitely enjoy this story 5/5

I adore this novel greatly!

I love the play on the northern duke stereotype, and I'm incredibly happy about how the characters were written. Their personalities go so well together and the very gradual falling in love is so real! Icb romance is real!! I'm also such a fan of how real Selena's anxieties are, as well as how they were portrayed. She's such a wonderful character and I'm glad Calcion knows that!

The villain was... lacking. Honesty I appreciate the author not pulling a, “he’s a sad wittle baby boy” guys a pos all the way, makes the girlies look sane.

The beginning of the series, sub-80 chapters are... the girls are fighting deluxe edition.

Our main character got eris from kmsimulator kill the villain energy but less clinically depressed. The main lead is the trope I love:

Scary faced cinnamon roll. Just a nice guy, has that classic K-drama super possessive vibe to him but I don’t think I’ve read a novel without that sub-troupe and whos gunna w***e their romantic interest out.

The ratings closer to a 4/5 I just misinputted, my bad~

DELICIOUS SLOW BURNNNNN. If you've read Odalisque and, like me, you were driven to the edge of your seat because of the *tension* then you'll love Selena and Kalcion (tho this is the R15 comedy version) ahahaha.

Selena, the FL, is tough, takes no bullshit, smart, and just overall so lovable. The basis premise of the story is actually cliche: a contractual relationship. But the SPICES added to that premise, FL being good at acting, ML being the typical aloof strongest male in the universe, their interaction are so so so... more>> so fun to read! The worldbuilding is sufficient, the conflict was not too complex but still keep the reader engaged. Overall, I would totally recommend this for a light read and a few giggles.

The one that made this review happen, of course, is none other than the neat translation work. Kudos to the team!! Their website is also really clean T_T Thank you!

the ML is so cute, I was smiling like a crazy person reading this novel. The ML and FL are just perfect for each other. The plot itself is good, to me. I enjoyed reading 139 chapters within 3 days. I start reading this novel yesterday, I recommend you to read this. I love FL and ML, their chemistry are good. They slowly getting interesting/fallen with each other. ML Kalcion is cool guy, straightforward, kind and has cute side too, when he and FL Selena has skinship. FL Selen is smart, strong women, I like her character.

One of the thing that I like about this story was how great of a chemistry between MC and ML. They, fell in love with each other, felt like a natural thing to happen because they're just so sweet together even before they realized their feelings yet.

However, aside from romance, I honestly think that the plot wasn't exciting enough. The mystery surrounding ML's soon-to-be fiancee's death wasn't that intriguing and the villain was predictable. Also, since ML was that OP, he crushed the villain without even breaking a sweat, making... more>> it a little boring.

Anyway, I still give this story 4 stars for MC and ML. <<less
