Near the end it got a little messy and rushed for me. The brother plot just felt flimsy to me. And when the FL was comparing how the brother and ML would come out if they went through the same thing sounded like bullshit. It made the brother seem like he was bad by nature like he was incapable of change. Considering what he went through, no sh*t he came out like that. He deserved to be punished for his crimes but death felt extreme ngl. I don't know, it just felt lazy the way he was killed off and how the author handled his story. If the ending was a lil different maybe it'd be a 5.

I must say tho, the MLs mother...I don't know how she didn't get absolutely pissed with the situation and didn't divorce her husband. Like, your husbands ex-lover kidnaps your eldest son and ab*ses (forced him to call her mother??) /treated him like an animal (eat rancid food??), find out he's alive, get him back 20 years later a killer and witness him get sentenced to death. Like sh*t man I mtl read this so I don't know if the MLs father and ex-lover got together before or after the MLs fathers engagement to the MLs mother but dang feels bad man. Ye it's not the MLs fathers fault at all but like her eldest son was still kidnapped and ended up like that soooo...
