Has this ever happened taht you expect something and it turns out that a book gives you a story far beyond your expectation?

This story is just like that... It was an amazing story delivering much more than I expected it to.

I have already read it teice and it's my third time. If you have not yet started please do cause it's worth it.

Rollercoaster of a novel lol (in a good way. Plot, characters, messages all great. I was really surprised at the plot twist but the author also included a ton of hints for it. loved it. Like at the end, I cannot help but smile so hard lol. This may not be out of the ordinary but I really like Shen Si's character, he's cold and... just emotionless a lot of the time, but it doesn't mean he's heartless or doesn't give a crap at all, I'm not sure how to... more>> explain him but it would be better if you read his character in the novel itself. But I did find some regret that the author didn't delve into the some of the characters more like Xi Luo and a few of the inspec unit members, it doesn't affect the experience but I wanted to see their characters more yeahh.

Anyways, in conlusion, 10/10 would read again. <<less

Good read, but 'good' is as good as it gets. High premise but lacking. Maybe cause I read a novel of similar set-up but with better execution and that built up a standard.

Far from the impression the synopsis gave, novel wasn't at all comedic. I blame that on me as I seldom check the tags and mostly only look at the synopsis. But the synopsis is really d*mn misleading.

Romance is also very minimal, it only progressed a liiiiittle bit, few chapters by the end. Aside from the obsession, it's still... more>> mostly rational thanks to MC's realistic and fair expectations in a relationship. So if you're looking for BL fluff, this isn't for you.

Characters were honestly bland and lacks depth. Everyone stayed as how they initially were, no more no less. Except Shen Si, tho his change was very minimal.

What's more, there were characters that were sidelined more than they deserved. Cue in Bai Junyi and Xi Luo. _ (:з」∠) _ Top 3 S-rank in the country for what? Their presence basically only served to give attention to Shen Si in the first few chapters, after that they'd just occasionally pop in, without much relevance to the plot.

Add to that the characters-for-convenience that randomly falls from the sky. I.e:

The blood covered girl—who helped get Shen Si's matching card in the non-existent playfield because Shen Si doesn't want to kill. _ (:I」∠) _

Right—who leaked the special unit's infos, especially Shen Si's. Purpose? Dunno. ʕ ͡❛ ₃ ͡❛ʔ ~🎶

Left—who was Shen Si's introductory guide during the Thief playfield cause he idolises Shen Si.

Overall, it still revolves around Shen Si as the MC which is fine, but everyone has this unwarranted worship towards Shen Si, like a god. Leaving aside Jiang Nan who's obsessed, if Shen Si says 'it will be fine' everyone just believes and goes 'Ah yes, because he is Shen Si'

And Shen Si himself have a major inconsistency; his lack of desire

From the beginning Shen Si was set up as 'indifferent', which changed later as he regains his past and emotions. Except he still lacks desire, which is his advantage in most playfields he entered. But is 'wanting to save the world' not considered desire? Playfields should be able to read into a person no matter how deep the secrecy is, in reference to Flower, Dummy, Dream, and Swamp playfields, hence the great difficulty. Idk how 'want to save the world' can be recreated in the playfields but 'want' should be synonymous to desire. What's more he's persistent about it enough to rewind time for 2 decades 7 times.

Moving on, the narrative itself was fine except for the for-convenience-sake story filler here and there to justify 'this is how it's solved' and some lack of explanations.

An enjoyable read! Although it's not romance-focussed, the plot itself with minor BL parts makes it interesting.

I was initially reluctant to read this novel because I read a review saying MC was a psychopath and did nothing. However, this is NOT TRUE. MC is rational, and sometimes, might feel like a robot, without much feelings, but he's not heartless. He still cares in his own way. There would also be character development and reasons for his behaviour.

So please give this novel a try =)

This novel tries to do many things and in the end trips on its own set-up. Premise is interesting: in a post-infinite flow world, what is the effect of the people who return? How does an 'ordinary person' get tied to the three top players in the infinite flow game world?

I was disappointed by the game instances that opened. They were not interesting or difficult enough, and MC had such a strong protagonist halo that it was like watching an OP cheat through the game. Most instances were not resolved... more>> by intelligent problem-solving--they were resolved by MC's golden finger.

Characters get introduced and dropped. You expect at first that the three main characters would serve an important purpose in the narrative, but you barely hear about one of them at all beyond the first few chapters. He plays a middling role towards the end, as though author wanted to assure readers that he was still remembered.

It's the same approach author takes to the story as a whole: a lot of big talk and promises, half-heartedly or hurriedly fulfilled with a cheat. At the end of the day, author's explanation for MC's background is such a cop out.

If you're looking for a good romance and compelling characters, it's not here. If you're looking for a good infinite flow world, read The Earth is Online. If you're looking for both, read Death Spiral. <<less

This story is really good. The plot felt complete and I like the ending. But aside from the MC, none of the other characters were really introduded. Honestly, the 3 S-class survivors had little role in the story. They felt like props. Even more so for the other characters.

Also, the romance is nonexistent. That felt more like brotherhood than any romance.

I felt this in the ending but this story is essentially the last timeline and the first chance for MC to destroy the unlimited flow. The past timelines were just to accumulate time and energy to break the clock. That clock that shows when he uses his power is actually a limiter, it limits his control over time. So, during the confrontation he was extra op because he was no longer human but the actual God of Time.

To explain the lacking romance,...

In the past timelines, the MC failed to bring any changes to the past because he himself never changed. So this timeline, his most hated flowers and plants became his favorites, and his disliked hiking became his job. His passion became indifference. He broke up with his boyfriend, and he keeps on pushing him away.

He became the complete opposite of how he really was. Only then did the timeline change. Because he became a whole new person.

To change tne future, you need to make changes in the present because today is the past of tbe future.

i think i've written this before, but I'm gonna state it again. So far, all of the stories i've read at exr are all gems!

for those who like fluff sprinkled all over the plot, this is not for you.

if you like a good plot progression story + bl as cherry on top, this is it!

the extras, though, were a bit short and lacking. But I think based on the MC & ml's situation in the extras, the other people lived normal lives as well.

One of my fav danmei so far!! I recommend this novel to everyone, this is a touching masterpiece T^T It's the kind of story that's so good and you wish the author wrote other novels to fill the void after finishing this one ! I really liked the characters, even some side characters got my heart UwU I usualy hate yanderes, but this yandere ML was very touching. Also, there are kinda gore content, but it's not a horror novel. Also the ending is satisfying, it's the kind of novel... more>> that you're happy you got to read the end (contrary to novels where the end feels rushed).

Simply amazing. The worldbuilding is one of the best I've ever read. And the people complaining about Shen Si; have you even read the book?? His indifference is one of the biggest plot points... 5 stars for sure!

A solid 5 stars compared with others in the same genre is one of the best. Even though I am crazy for romance and theres no romance in this plot I pretty much enjoyed the whole thing. The causes and consequences here are pretty solid and theres no regret in the end.

Incredible. Amazing.

I loved it. There were virtually no negative points for me; it had great plot, great characters, the writing was excellent and SOO GOOD I literally binged this in what, two days?

There wasn't much romance, — hey the Shounen Ai tag is there for a reason — but the plot makes up for it. But for the plot to really start to pick up, you'd need to make it to like chapter 90 first, but I PROMISE IT IS WORTH IT.

On the romance, well, the "manly gay" tag was... more>> really accurate. Neither the MC or the ML have been "feminized" (honestly I feel like that's a bad term, girls don't have to be "feminine", just as guys don't have to be "masculine"), and there's none of the typical "weak, fragile shou" and "strong, dominating gong". I still have no idea who's gong or shou yet...

As for the horror aspect of the novel, it wasn't too bad (like, I could sleep no nightmares), not terrifying but not bland. But that might just be me reading too many horror BL.

I really liked the development of each character, nearly all the side characters were fleshed out (minus the cannon-fodders that appeared each arc), and they were great, funny guys.

This novel was a ride, and I loved it the whole time. <<less

Then I got bored just waiting for a conclusion... I think it was slow n stretched too much

For those looking for Romance, note that its negligible - it's kinda just there in the background... No kiss, nothing!

It's really hard to get immersed in the book because of the MC. His emotions are not shown at all- all we are shown are his actions and not his motives. He seems completely emotionless and not even the ruthless, dangerous kind (which I like). He does random things and we're supposed to keep up. I think the author was trying to go for the 'cold and intelligent' trope but it was really badly executed. It's tiring to read.

I'm dropping it at chapter 81. I tried to persevere, because some comments said the best part is in the 80's, and 90's. But at this point, I am just so bored of it that I honestly do not care about whatever mystery is finally going to be revealed. If a novel cannot keep me interested and I have to force myself to get to the good part that is only at the very end, then it is just not a good novel.

So, yes, it was boring. When the MC... more>> enters the 'instances', I never really felt like he is any danger whatsoever, which completely defeats the purpose of an unlimited horror flow. In most of the 'instances' the horror was overall relatively weak (although it might be also caused by the writing, it just wasn't stimulating enough). It's not really funny either, nor all that tragic, so you don't really get much feelings while reading this. The MC is very apathetic, doesn't react much to anything, which is a great part of the reason why the reader also doesn't really get to feel anything. The mystery part is so subtle and drawn out that I wasn't really hooked on learning about it either. As for the romance part? Forget about it, it doesn't really exist. <<less

MC may be somewhat indifferent at first, but as you reach the end, every single thing would be explained. Really, you need to stick till the end. The romance isn't the main focus so don't expect too much of that here. ML was quite wonderful and I'm glad they got a HE

I personally think that the ending was probably the best end MC could've ever obtained.

They returned back to the past, or really an alternate world line. The unlimited flow world no longer existed and the ML's disease was getting better. The MC and ML also got back together happily!


There's a side CP, which would only be known at the last two extras. I feel a bit sad that only MC remembers because I was actually kinda fond of everyone else too. I wanted a bit more scenes with ML but it's not a romance centred novel so oh well.

I'm also happy because we had a regressor and calm MC instead of ML.

MC's ideals and beliefs are actually very humane and rational, and what he does in each unlimited flow world reflects those ideals and beliefs, but you just have to remember he is a human, too, even if he's pretty indifferent and cold at first (if you keep reading, you'll know why he's like that and the mysteries/unknown things would be resolved). Action part of MC is super cool - the concept that this novel takes on for its world-building and storyline is also pretty fresh for a survival game +... more>> unlimited flow, but the ending might not be for everyone (personally half liked and half didn't like it cuz MC is pretty humble). It also focuses a lot on the development of MC as well as his growth: personality-wise, relationships, etc., so it was very nice reading about this!

Tho didn't see the romantic subplot tag at first, so I was expecting quite some romance, but ML is quite nice and their interactions are very cute (I definitely wanted more scenes of them together). But do read this :) <<less

It's a good read, but nothing too great. The synopsis really misleads; I'm Really Just an Ordinary Person is actually a serious drama rather than anything comedic, and you'll see why after the initial chapters. Some of the characters are sidelined that I would appreciate more development for, like Xi Luo, the MC's cousin. The whole plot didn't flow as smoothly as it could've, and personally I felt like I was being tossed around from plot to plot. Plus, the romance lacked development.

Also, if you're worried about the yandere, it's... more>> just really deep love, and he doesn't want to do anything yandere-like either (for example, locking their loved one in a basement). Aside from initial mentions, those desires never pop up (only indirectly once in the third playfield) and he just longs for the MC.

I have no complaints about the translation. Admittedly I have no expertise in the field, but when compared against other translations I really feel they do a better job. Also, there's just an occasional typo or two every chapter, nothing that affects the reading experience.

Some reviewers are complaining about the main character being a psychopath, but there's a reason for it, I swear (although calling the MC a psychopath isn't exactly true; in curiosity I looked up things about psychopaths and they're manipulators - the MC is just really indifferent). It's very hard to explain the MC without spoiling the story. The story would definitely be way more interesting with a better MC though.

I have mixed feelings about this. Like I like it at the same time I dont like it??

Maybe its because of the descriptions, that I somehow got the idea that this should be harem??? The MC and ML really doesnt have a good chemistry. The MC is too godlike that it felt like the ML doesn't deserve the MC.

Im really disappointed that this isn't a harem sigh 😭. The MC's neighbor and cousin really doesn't do much at all.

The only spoiler I get before reading this novel is someone said this novel suprisingly Emotional. And Welp... I'm very Emotional now after finally finished this novel. The whole thing was full of Surprised! I expected something different based on the summary, and what I get was such Unexpected and Amazing Novel that was far from my Imagination! The Ending is also the Most Amazing but also Unexpected! It's depend if you like it or not, but it's HE.

MC's personality in the novel, I really LOVE how the Author wrote... more>> his character, reasons and all with such details. Why he was like that, the growth, the change, the past. Damn... So Good. So Unique. I Love the way the Author wrote him like this. So yeah, in every chapter my love for the MC keep growing because the Author did him PERFECTLY !!! I'm not saying MC is perfect, I'm saying the author write his character perfectly well done!

This novel is not focus on Romance, so calling a certain character as the ML that mean Male Lead equal Male Love Interest didn't sound right until literally the last 20 chapters more or less. And I'm not saying because it's Slow Romance. It's NOT! It's not like Earth is Online where we can easily say ML is known as ML even though the Romance is SLOW AS FCK. Just read it an you know what I mean.

But the Author did the Justice for the Supposed ML in here. Seriously, the Characters Feelings... The Characters Growth... For the Main Characters and the Supporting Characters. Amazing!

I'm not going to talk about the Plot because I suggest you to just read it and enjoy all the Mystery and Tension and Feelings.

I won't say this novel is Perfect, but it does have Satisfying Ending and I Love it very dearly!!! <<less
