A short series yet had to drop early due to the protagonist.

I found MC to be so arrogant, ignorant, prideful, delusional, and what not. Quickly became annoying on top of constantly rambling on about being a manly man despite definitely not being remotely manly.

There were also a lot of leap of logics with regards to MCs thoughts and behaviour like ... more>>
Spoiler

forcing himself to chop old stockpiled wood found behind the orphanage he woke up at, then dragging a singular piece of wood to the village to sell... Oh and thinking the villlagers were gonna rob him when they rush at him whislt trying to help. Right. I highly doubt that wood and trouble was worth it, on top of what should've been an urgent matter. Oh and all while being surprised and rambling on about how weak he was now.

Given how absurd the early chapters are already, do not have high hopes for the rest.

[collapse]

Felt like a rushed and sloppy work with the typical MC full of plot armor which is the only reason why they can keep on getting away with their nonsense.

Would be one star but put another one for the sake of the world be potential premise if it was polished more. <<less

An alright story, 3.5/5. Bonus points for an original idea/concept, for being fluff. Points retracted for contrived and meh prose.

MC becomes a kid in another world, on a frontier village. Wakes up in/near the abandoned orphanage. Goes into town and is beloved by the adults who treat her like their own adorable kid. She stubbornly insists on living alone. The village supports her by being generous in buying her goods (firewood, etc) and in selling her stuff (lowering price for her or giving her freebies). Eventually a girl running for... more>> survival ends up outside the village where MC finds her and carriers her home, to take care of her.

This begins the MC claiming to be a orphanage director. As well as the first kid to join the orphanage.

This story then becomes more slice of life, and the harem orphanage residents continue to grow

And this is where I start to have problems with the series that I can't just smooth brain over and ignore.

At some point rumors of this adorable director spread and the MC is summoned to visit the female hero. Who is a raging lo*icon the likes I have almost never seen before. Who then proceeds in her demented mind to go and turn herself into a kid to become adopted/live with MC.

I'm not one to have super high standards. I'm not someone who is entirely against people like Rudeus Grayrat romance in that one famous isekai. In fact I completely think it is likely/normal for a reincarnated person to be influenced by or act their physical age. (Which should have a major impact)

But this hero is creepier than characters like master Roshi for me. It's like Michael Jackson sleeping with kids creepy. So everytime this hero is present and acting out with MC, I can't stop thinking how she isn't actually a kid. But a adult lo*icon who is using being a kid to indulge her fetishes. And it's been a bit since I read the part before she transformed. But I am pretty sure she was even to the degree of being full blown pedo, wanting to engage in more serious actions, looking at MC romantically.

It just ruins the rest of the story. Because every moment hero kid enters a heartwarming scene, or acts a certain way, I am reminded of her real identity. Even the most recent explanation that somewhat justifies her feelings, isn't enough to erase that.

And it doesn't help that the author could genuinely be making this a harem for MC. I can't say for certain, since it could be a misunderstanding where the "kids" reading a le*d book and wanting to do le*d things with MC could be something like hand holding. But I can't help but think it is more. I can't help but think how none of these kids think like kids when it comes to MC.

This would be a 4 fluff novel, but with the undertones it drags it down. This story could deteriorate into between 2-3. But for now, despite contrived absurdities in plot and in hope of things improving and becoming good fluff. I will continue on for now. <<less
