More than 10 thousand years ago, MC's world was invaded by another world. The world origin was damaged during the ensuing war. Due to the damage, the path to ascension was cut off for the cultivator's of the world. A few thousand years later, the world origin has recovered somewhat but in order to fully recover, the link to the upper realm has to be reestablished. This becomes the mission of the children of fate. Each child of fate is blessed with unique talents and extraordinary luck. The villains in the novel are a group of families who are aware of this. They locate the children of fate, stick close to them by pretending to be friends or providing fake help and then steal the opportunities that the child of fate encounters on his path to becoming OP. The luck of the child of fate eventually gets exhausted so they never grow up to fulfill their mission. MC is one such child of fate but because of her unique time power, she gets reborn back to her 11 year old self after she was mu*dered.

Her master Choa Yan is someone who notices her potential early on and even when an elder of higher strength challenges him to have her as his disciple, he doesn't back down. That's the first time I sorta sat up in my seat, my shipping radar tingling. Ofc he loses, but FL declines the other elder who is more powerful and chooses the OG master anyway. In this world, all the powerful beings want to take the FL's treasures (she collects them like candy fr) or use her, but Chao Yan imo is the only one who really treats her with 100% sincerity and wants nothing back from her (although it's funny when he has to calm himself down every time she inadvertently shows off her immense wealth in front of him).

I like that they are similar types of people: completely shameless and chaotic. FL originally thought her master was this calm, measured, majestic guy but then she gets her eyes opened lol,

One part that really got me is when the FL had her eye on this treasure she needed and wasn't able to get, so the master doesn't say anything but just goes and basically uses shady means to get it lmao. She's still sad she missed out and when he gives it to her, she's shook. No one really goes out of their way to help her besides her master. It's usually her making transactions or giving benefits to get people to help her. Even her parents, she loves them, but she's the one helping them and not the other way around. For someone like FL who was forced to grow up early and was never given a chance to be carefree, I feel like she really needs someone like Chao Yan who doesn't mind fighting for her or doing the dirty work for her. I like that he does it for no other reason but that she's his disciple and he wants her happy :) One time she has to go to a secret realm and her master makes her a thorough guide of what to avoid, how to survive in there etc, kinda like a Secret Realm for Dummies lol. The other powerful masters are shocked that he did that bc they would never give that much care and thought into their disciples.

Around the 400 ch mark, FL is ambushed by powerful enemies and in a miserable situation, she leaves behind a will for her master saying that becoming his disciple was the best thing that basically ever happened to her, and she asks him not to avenge her because she knows he just recently broke through another realm and won't be able to beat these enemies yet. Those are basically her dying words. Of course, as fate would have it, her master figured out she was in danger before she could die and instead came to sacrifice his life for her so she could escape.

I nearly stopped reading at this point bc I couldn't accept that her master was dead. The one guy who genuinely took care of her and never wanted anything for her??? YOU KILLED HIM AUTHOR??? Okay fine there's no romance but WHY HIM??

Well, thankfully FL is just like me and literally can't get over it either. Her master's death almost sets her over the edge but she calms down and has a goal. You only realize it during the last chapter where she uses her own ascension to use the river of time to go back and save his life. That's the climax/ending of the story. Not her reaching immortality. But using immortality to go against fate and reverse death, bringing back the one person who sacrificed his life for hers and genuinely cared for her.

The story ends there and her ascension + time travel becomes legendary, we aren't told of what else happens later besides that other people eventually ascend as well. In my head, her master is one of them and they'll eventually get together. I can accept no other other ending. It's funny that this story isn't a romance, because if it was the love between her and her master could have easily made it a great one.
