It's not a masterpiece but is it damn fun. The main character is transported in a game just few hours before the zombie apocalypse but she has a aimbot she installed. She starts gaining trust of people from her school and starts leading them. I can't pinpoint why but it's a lot more fun and engaging than most other novels with similar premise. I don't know what else to say than just try it out if you want fun.

The main character is superhuman in every sense. He got into the crazy world of the apocalypse and adjusted in the same hour. The characters are flat and empty. They behave like NPS even if they have names. The author introduces them and then forgets. For example, what happened to the brother and sister after they returned? With a bully ? Or why do you even need this "most beautiful girl" who serves the main character? Similarly, it's not clear why GB is here, because it doesn't affect the plot... more>> in any way. The dialogues are boring and shallow like "Oh, I see, " Besides, everyone around is too calm and doesn't even try to figure out how she knew about zombies or where her weapons come from. <<less

[Review as of chapter 51]

I enjoy this novel a lot. It's fun and tackles a storyline that I personally haven't really read before. I recommend reading it. Now I'll begin pointing out more detailed thoughts I have.

The game has never been completed, by no one, it is an incredibly difficult game, so the MC decides to cheat to see how the story ends. This is the aimhack and walkhack/esp abilities she has. So far, the story has had multiple "oh f*ck f*ck f*ck" starting points, moments where if not handled... more>> immediately, will spiral out of control, and it's entertaining to see how important it is to nip those in the bud.

Spoiler

However, none of them so far seem like it'd make the game impossible without the cheats, so I am very interested in when the game's difficulty ramps up more. So far, the MC has fought 2 "Elite zombies" which have supernatural abilities, the first one is strong and would be a game ender for most players, but we learn that it's a simple enemy that just requires a shotgun when the zombie charges with it's mouth open. The 2nd "Elite" is basically an angel, which would kill 99% of players who fight it, but it has a mechanic that's exploitable, so on multiple playthroughs and and hindsight, it isn't the wall that maked the game impossible. I'm very interested in finding out more about what in particular is so impossible to defeat.

[collapse]

To the MC's cheats, regular zombies and regular people aren't a threat in battle, but there is tension out of battle with the NPCs and such. The cheats are strong, but things don't just go her way all the time, issues do happen which she needs to quickly react to and solve or everyone around her will die.

Things do seem easy, because of her cheats in battle, but I have actually been surprised by how other humans have twisted her arm by being surprisingly competent. They know they can't win in battle, but that means they can win by preventing her from entering a battle, which has been very thrilling, because her allied NPCs and base is fully reliant on her for defence. I think it's well done, so the human on human battles end up not being "MC killed everyone 2km away with a sniper". <<less

It's a nice story, but the author is writing from the edge of their seat. Not much if anything seems to be planned, and the protagonist is reactive, not proactive, and despite her multiple playthroughs doesn't seem to know much about the plot except the very beginning or some random facts. A good quality which I appreciate is her fierce independence, in that she'll ignore what the adults around her say if she believes her own opinions are more correct (which is all the time) and move out on her... more>> own/prevent others from interfering with her.

However there's still annoying tropes. One particularly annoying one for example was
Spoiler

a cult coming to the school and press-ganging some students via their parents' influence. MC doesn't react and lets them take away the students forcefully... well ok, and then later the students come back with the cult when the MC is away, break open the gate, steal munitions and cause more than half of the students and teachers to die after allowing zombies to break in.

When the zombies are cleared out they find out that "The damage didn't end there. The infected roamed freely within the school, contaminating most of the facilities. Half of the ammo and food supplies in storage were lost." Excuse me? Mindless, s*upid zombies only interested in eating humans. Food and munition not taken away, not damaged, just... "contaminated." The explanation stops there, and the MC's group decides to move away, thinking the school is too dangerous... which is genius considering they had a large place for themselves with cooking facilities, bathrooms, and even a place to grow crops, in addition to a local shopping mall they had secured some time earlier, and of course they run into trouble pretty much immediately afterwards.

A researcher NPC of great importance to the plot was the sole survivor from the entire hospital, because all her colleagues killed themselves a day before the MC and solders arrived... seeing as the drugs they used were fast acting they could've just waited. Later she says the researcher says she lacks good quality research tools to progress her work on studying the virus once relocated to the school... and nobody thinks of just going to the hospital where they first found her, where her research was previously taking place.

[collapse]

Overall it's a nice action-focused series, but expect plenty of tropes, not particularly intelligent characters, and the plot to be full of sudden plot holes, with very little foreshadowing or planning. <<less

Overpowered Main character.

Interesting story shows how life could be easier with aimhack but also it doesn't solve all the troubles.

What bad about the novel is the majority of problems showed up were either zombie or bad guys/bad organisation which all can be solved by killing them all. But well no thing is perfect anyway so I think the novel is already very good. At least not the type of novel when there is a Male main character who overpowered and collect girls to make a harem like those I saw

Overall, what I have read so far, In A Game With Aimhack is an interesting and entertaining novel for fans of the fantasy and TS genres with a touch of technology and cheats. Even though it has several shortcomings, this novel is still worth reading.

I was slightly disappointed that the installation of the aimbot was what prompted the scenario, rather than a coincidence. In terms of the narrative, this clearly signifies the necessity of hacks to fulfill the role of the game's protagonist correctly.

So while she has these advantages over the previous playthroughs, it doesn't seem to be as much of an unfair cheat rather than basically being the chosen one.

But effectively, that's a detail that doesn't actually influence the plot, which is sufficiently entertaining.

Interactions with other characters are still somewhat limited, but there's... more>> some groundwork for future development.

Overall it's certainly not among the best novels I've ever read, but there's no major flaw to it either that would warrant detracting a star. <<less

I am just starting to read, but it seems nice so far.

The MC is transmigrated to a zombie apocalypse video game. A very hard video game that nobody had even cleared yet after a month of the release date. Because the guy was exasperated with the unreasonable difficulty he installs an aim and map hack so when he, now she, is transmigrated she still have the hack activated. She also have status window and level up mechanics

The MC is very savvy and resolute, killing infected first and explaining later so... more>> the infection does not spread and nipping problems at the bud to prevent future trouble. <<less

It's slow and meaningless. It starts with an intro setting up like any other. But no. All you get is typical story events set up over and over again. Sigh I said I would stay away from kn web novels.

For example: main character talks to villian. Villian dies. Enter character 6 with stereotype simple drama. "Are you okay mc?".

I'm starting to wonder if this was written with advanced language tools.

Read to 21. Then ch50. Chapter 10 is where the quality of the rest of the story starts

This novel isn't particularly great. It'll do as basically junk food in between good novels but by itself it's honestly not that amazing to read. 2.8/5

Problems:

  1. There are issues with the writer's technical ability (e.g whether or not there is tension in the novel, foreshadowing, dialogue etc)
    1. Spoiler

One of the biggest issues with basically every single fight scene is just that it is immediately solved because the MC has aim hacks and esp. This is done through literally every single fight. This completely kills any tension in a novel

      [collapse]
    2. Spoiler

Another issue is just that I'm not sure if the author actually plans ahead or not, the novel seems to be incredibly disorganized without "arcs" and the ending of each "arc" is usually just that the MC comes in and kills everyone

      [collapse]
  2. Power scaling: The MC is s*upidly broken, enough that I can't actually enjoy reading the novel.
    1. Spoiler

I'll say it again, every single fight is solved through Aimhacks and ESP. The MC is a mary su and this kills enjoyment of the novel

      [collapse]
  3. Incredibly 1 dimensional characters
    1. Spoiler

See the MC, but its also all the other characters, the villains are just "bad" eg the cult leader who is woefully undeveloped before being killed. Or the lack of development of other characters like the teachers or other students

      [collapse]
The point is, the author is relying on a too overpowered MC as the main plot point, unfortunately this makes the novel incredibly poor quality in my opinion.
