Felmenia Stingray was a genius mage. She quickly became the most distinguished mage of the Astel Kingdom after her discovery of white fire magic, which had the power to burn anything.

However, the world is in peril due to the Demon King. The kingdom’s court mages perform a summoning ritual for heroes and bring forth a hero and two youths, a boy and a girl. Unlike the girl, the young man refused to fight the Demon King alongside the Hero and demanded to be sent back to his world. The kingdom, angry with his behavior, locked him away.

Now Felmenia stands before the young man with her strongest magic, the white flame, being completely useless and asks who he is. It was already obvious to her that this man was far stronger than she was. To this he simply responds.

“Yakagi Suimei, a magician.”

Well after finishing to the latest release up to date of this review.

I can tell you this was a mix bag, I enjoy it as I found a lot of elements that were fun to read, with interesting development but some are straight absurd and really ruin some moments during the reading.

The pros is that each character get some nice time to develop their character personality and backstory.

The story is quite solid. Protagonist wants to go back home, hero wants to defeat the demon lord. With some added twists but... more>> this stick to main objective. The author didn't lose sight of what he is writing about, and kept moving slowly onward. A bit slow for my taste as the main protagonist has yet on 8 volumes progressed, this will be a long ride.

The cons is the author tries so hard to give some explanation on the magic system of both worlds and it can be quite long and not very appealing to some as it is mainly a load of random bull. Pardon my language, but many other novels does a simpler job to explain magic without making an essay out of fiction.

The world power balance is completely broken, author put himself in a troublesome situation. How to make a powerful character while keeping a certain amount of challenge for him to overcome. Most of the time it is because the protagonist does idiotic mistakes and is way too full of himself like a chinese Wuxia.

The heroes personality are real template with lack of critical thinking, their are basically brainless and naive to no end, it is borderline a sin for them to keep behaving the way they did.

The character growth is non existent for our protagonist. Instead it is the side character who improve the most. They are already quite outrageous but they grow so much it becomes ridiculous to see the protagonist is not improving.

Spoiler

Suimei keeps talking how behind they are in magic knowledge, yet he keeps doing mistakes that puts him in a tricky situation and later on character even more powerful then him appears to the point they can be considered legendary like character and godlike for others.

His friend will gain a power boost that will come out very cheap.

Also author tries to turn every time Lefille to a loli for the sake of having fun

[collapse]

Romance wise, it is quite platonic as we have the typical character who doesn't want any relationship while triggering every flag for one.

I sincerely hope that the next upcoming volumes will be solving some issues pointed out as this will go downhill for the story as it might completely lose sight of what they are supposed to do. It feels like instead of walking straight ahead, they do sometimes some spin and go a bit backward then forward then back before taking a leap to another world. Joke intended. <<less

I was really liking this with volume one, and like the overall story of volume 2. But in volume 2 the repetitiveness and extremely drawn out explanations of things made it an almost unbearable read. I was having to skip paragraphs and even pages at a time to make it through.

I was liking Lefille more than Felmenia except for maybe a bit towards the end....

And why did the author have to go make Lefille
Spoiler

a loli...

I registered on this site just to write this review.

First of all, story is not anything special, its usual isekai stories. I Don't have a problem with that, heck I like them.

Only problem I have with this novel is MC. He shown as smart, but really isn't. I like the fact that he refused to fight demon lord and refused to fight with his friends even though he is OP. It's fine that he wants find a way to go back. But why the F**k is he fighting an army... more>> of demons just to save a girl whom he met a few days ago, when he refused to help his friends whose been with him for years.

Another fact that I hate about MC is his constant apologies for no reason. He did not get involved with demon problem because 'its got nothing to do with him' he says but why are u apologizing for s*upid reason when its nothing to do with you at all. Like seriously did author make a mistake while creating his personality of or is MC just a ret*rd.

Now that I am done venting, reason why I dropped this novel is because I don't like MC. Other than that it was quite an enjoyable read. <<less

The series isn't bad, I'd even go as far as to say its good, the only problem I have with it is that there are some occasions where the explanations justly drone on for far too long, mostly when explaining magic, like, I understand thoroughly giving the proper imagery so that you can truly grasp what the author wants you to understand, but sometimes its just like this sentence with so much unnecessary padding and fluffy word, when will it end, when will the final thought come to a close,... more>> will it just keep you in suspense or have you already got the gist of it and skipped to the question mark, or will you stick through even though you have already ascertained the whole thought before even making it all this way? <<less
