I like it. I really did. I was on a reading spree where most of the MCs who regain their memory of a past life and reincarnated as a game character have ended up as someone who is completely oblivious to the affections around them. she accepts the fact her actions have changed characters and interacts with them as if they are human. She slowly becomes part of the world instead of treating herself like an outsider, or treating it like a game. She’s not purposely flamboyant in acting out her villainous role which honestly makes some MC just seem ditzy. Even better, we have a single love interest. I’m not against reverse-harems. Heck I love them but it’s nice to see the feelings between everyone, or a certain pair develop.

The ending was unexpected. I expected the secret character. I knew the heroine would end up liking the MC and somewhat worship her. She was given her own little romance too and that was bonus. What really surprised me was that final scene with the notebook. I had basically forgotten the world MC as living in was a game and the notebook really emphasised it. There’s a little hint to the mysteries of this ‘game world’ she knows. In the end MC really accepts the fact she is alive and living in a real world and not a game. So what if it’s similar to a game she played in her past life? It is of no consequence to her and she is just going to pave her own path in this world.

It was a pleasant read and I recommend it to people who likes a MC who knows when to stand her ground and when to yield. A little yandere drama never hurt. It honestly has a great plot. <<less

If there's something lacking from translated otome-based novel in general, it would be romance. Other novel protagonist are either too busy escaping his/her bad end, too dense to create proper romance, or are still too young for a relationship. It's otome game, where's my sweet romance moment (#｀皿´) /

Reincarnated into Yandere Otome Game, while not having too much rabu~rabu~ moment, have one of the best relationship among the novel that I've read. You could really see Wolf and Lycoris's closeness, and how they influence each other's life. The MC is... more>> aware of the feeling around her (and not only love related) and act properly. While I am not a big fans of yandere, I have to say that they are a good thriller source.

Yay.

Tips for all readers: don't read the 4th arc. The official story ends at the third, and if you want to keep the feelings of respect you will have for the story, don't read the 4th arc. It's not bad. It's just boring and a waste of time. And it's really off-topic and quite frankly, I don't quite understand why it exists!

So. I'm rating this as of end of arc 3 and short stories.

101% recommend. This is one of the best otome game transmigration stories out there. Very nice plot with good character development. Each character is very likeable. The MC especially is a very level headed and has a clear view of what she wants. She isn't dense like other MC's of otome novels. Regarding the yandere part, it's there but not the focus of the story. The plot progresses in such a way that you are forced to come back and wish for new chapters.

MC fell in love with ML, and be true with her feeling. Not like some other, she didn't avoid ML just because it might lead her to happy ending route which was BAD for herself. Well, she even befriends the heroine in a blink.

Without being OP chara, she loves and be loved. Solve every struggle with more or less normal way. Normal... I mean, she act like a human being. A child need adults for some big problems. A girl sometimes should be protected by her lover, brother, or friend. And of course, by no mean she is weak.

MC is strong. She knew when to protect, and when to be protected.

Even with Yandere attached in title and tag, I find this novel so heartwarming. To the point of the villain looked like a victim, I ended up wish a happy future for him. <<less

It's definitely more interesting than some of the other generic "reincarnation otome game"esque stories, but since there is the tag "reverse harem", I somewhat worried it might result into the generic harem ending. Sigh, but that might be what I get for reading it, fully aware it might turn into another burikko novel.

But for now, 5 stars it is.

This was a very fast and interesting read. There wasn't much confusion or anything going on in this novel. To me it was pretty light hearted. I wanted to see more interaction between the MC and ML during the school arc.

This is not bad, not good. Not my type. My first impressive toward male lead is he doesn't deserved MC, he is so arrogant who look down to world. MC is so weak who is scare of being killed off and male lead. I feel funny when this adult MC scare of small arrogant ML in their first meeting. How she speak polite to him. She is so useless, weak.

I like most character is heroine and step brother, I ship them. Heroine is decent, not like scheming b*tch. Step brother... more>> is good too. I will give five star if they both had their relationship and is protagonist of novel. <<less

The MC is placed in a reverse harem story where all the capturable characters are yanderes due to childhood traumas or random quirks in their personalities. Not wanting to die, she set out to change them, and somehow obtaining their affections in the process. The MC is a cute character, and the male leads aren't so bad since she prevented them from being as warped, but the story itself feels like its missing a huge chunk in the middle. It starts when she's a child, meeting 2 of the male... more>> leads, and after they've settled into their roles, the story just automatically jumps a few years into a new setting to add in the original protagonist, and other capture targets. While we can pretty much make out the missing years, it'd still be nice for the author to include a few chapters as they grow into the role. While the MC would also be given more opportunities to demonstrate her personality. Overall, the characters are quite likeable, and the story itself is cute and has some depth, but the fact that most of these scenes are mostly there to explain why the male leads fall for her or to sideline a major event, somewhat limits their values to reactive actors who just respond to a situation or development that the game/author throws at them. <<less

the MC regains a bit memory from her past life, that is, she is a villainess of an otome game, which genre includes yandere. She determines to live longer, unlike the original game, she tries to change some of the capture targets' personality, though she thinks not much changed because of the limitation of her memory. This novel is, ultimately, disappointing. After the so-apparent "ending", I didn't have the will to go on to read the extras anymore.

For a yandere story, it's very underwhelming. If you wanted to read this expecting standard yandere-fare intensity, this isn't it. Romance also isn't the main focus; it's slice-of-life but with slight spice. Plus, everything negative that happens has no lasting consequences on the characters. It might seem shocking at times, but as you keep reading on, you realize the stakes are incredibly low and nothing will happen in the... more>> end. Sometimes something happens that might spike your interest, but it gets resolved in an underwhelming way

While the MC and characters are likeable, there's not nearly enough development between them after the childhood arcs are over. There's also no summary of the time-skip, either. While reading the story you constantly feel like you're at a cold distance, despite it being in 1st person.

All in all, it's a pleasant and smooth glide, but it's not something I'd be on the edge of my seat for. If you were to watch this as an anime adaptation, perhaps, it'd feel more exciting. Or maybe my standards for 'exciting' in novels are just different, given that I just began reading shoujo.

Standard case of "interesting premise, strong beginning, but bland execution and end". <<less

Overall, not a bad book to spend your time with.

I enjoyed the slice-of-life type arcs, there was some suspense and action, it wasn't all calm things, but I felt the story really lacked detail.

I liked that the other capture targets didn't really fall for the MC (her adopted brother stays adopted brother). So that was pretty nice.

It mostly revolved around the 4 main characters and basically their interactions with each other. There were some interactions with the MC's dad (Duke Lilia), but overall the world didn't feel very developed (kind... more>> of shallow).

Despite that, there were some good moments, touching moments, and sweet fluff. So anyway, not a bad read. <<less

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I soooo love this. The yandere parts here aren't that excessive but when an event like that happens, the heroine perfectly depicts how she handles the situation and the yandere. The drama is also just enough, not that strong unlike your usual stories with a yandere in it. The pacing might be a bit fast but it's still detailed that you won't be left hanging. Hail all yandere!

This is the best otome-game novel I've read so far, and I've read them all up to the 1000th rankings.

The characters are liakeable, deep and not one dimentional. There are no evil young masters or spoiled ladies plaguing everyone everywhere. Even the side characters have their own personality.

The story is nice and heartwarming. There are good drama and romance moments.

Most otome-game's novels discards the game settings and events a few chapters in. In this one, however, a lot of events still matter, and even the climax is a secret event... more>> from the game.

The MC is likeable and kind. She solves problems being a nice and civilized girl. No faceslaping, killing, hitting or anything like that.

All being said there are two bad points about this novel:

    • The title: There's nothing yandere in this. While the original game is portraited as yandere, there's no violence in the story, at all. This might annoy some readers that got in expecting horror/gore/suspense.
    • Pacing: The pacing is a little too fast and the game setting ended too quickly. There was a lot more that could be done in that arc, especially more development of the game heroine and main villain relationship. (Not the MC but Lily and Gif)
Still, I consider this a must read for anyone that enjoys the genre. Translation is also on point which is a big plus. A really underrated novel on this site. I'm glad I was bored enough to comb through the rankings. <<less

Very Recommended for all those "Reincarnation into otome game" fans! It's very different from the other novels like this setting, it takes a more mature and serious pace but still with it's funny moments.

The MC in this novel is a realistic person that is not dense like other MC's, she fully realizes her mistakes, able to come up with decisions that will be helpful to those around her, even while having the disadvantage of not knowing what's going to happen in the future while interacting with the capturable targets.

her relationship... more>> with wolf is enviable (i wish I was her! Oh wolf *^*), and she took great part in making the other characters change in a good way. Although I would've liked scenes wherein wolf and lycoris is on a date or something, and I would've wished the 12 yrs old arc was longer, it did not slightly make me want to change my rate of 5 stars to this, her relationship with the heroine is also nice because we get to see a part of the thoughts of MC when she was being bullied and about her past as well, which other novels like this lack.

Overall you got to read it to fully to understand what I love about this novel, it only took me about a 2 days to read all of it. And I did not regret reading this! <<less

Well came here from the manga and after reading the novel only dissatisfaction was left.

The ending especially was boring but I did enjoy the slice of life arcs so it's ok-ish?

Also I liked that all the capture targets didn't fall in love with MC (like the adopted brother stays as a brother)

A 2.1/5 stars story enough to use for snack break

It was a good read, but I just count it as finished after the school arc ended, I don't plan to read the extras.

The characters weren't half bad, tho I wished to know more about Ru Xiang, he seemed more interesting than those edgelords Gift and Lily combined.

MC and ML were, well, nice but that's it. They didn't really strike a chord with me. Tho MC's mentality gained my approval ngl.

The yandere part is honestly barely there, which I understand because she does her best to change the characters, but it was a little disappointing for me. Other than that it's an entertaining read with good characters.

It's okay if you want a generic, typical otome game read. Don't go in expecting greatness and it can be kind of sweet for a while. There were some interesting backstories but the author fell through on the side characters. So it's really just focused on the main characters, then added side stories as they please, which can feel a little boring.

The translator did well in translating except they left the raws in at the last few chapters.

The yanderes are very tame and well-functional for a yandere game so that... more>> was a little sad with the title. Don't you just love the moment when they snap? Either way, if you have time and nothing else to read, why not. <<less

At three volumes (and fourth volume of random side stories unrelated to the main plot) this story is short for being in the "otome villainous reincarnation" genre and it shows. Despite there being five "capture targets" only two of them get fleshed out to any degree and the MC falls in love with the first "capture target" she interacts with and sticks with him throughout the story.

Compared to other examples in the genre where the MC interacts extensively with all the capture targets, fully fleshes out their various backstories and... more>> engages in annoying will-they-won't-they stuff for chapters on end this story seems really short and succinct. Whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you. In my opinion, if you just read this as a simple love story it's pretty good. But if you expect it to do much with "otome reincarnation" premise you might be disappointed. <<less
