The fourth imperial prince’s Fu Jin, who had time-traveled, was very frustrated. She had to take care of his food, his drinks, and even his concubines!

Back then, when I asked you to come, you wouldn’t. Now, when I try to chase you away, you won’t leave. If you want to have a son, go find someone else!

The reborn Fourth Prince was even more frustrated. His third son was rebellious, the fourth squandered the family fortune, and the fifth was reckless.

Sigh, it still takes a good mother to raise a good son.

“Fu Jin, how about we have another child?”

Actually, this is just a story about a low-key woman with no experience in romance, transmigrating to the Qing Dynasty, trying hard not to become cannon fodder.

T/N: Fu Jin means Wife in Manchu. It’s a title used for the main wife of imperial princes during the Qing Dynasty.

This is Bambi, the translator! I started translating this novel because it’s one of the recurring novels I read when wanting to read about the Qing Dynasty. Those first two emperors of the Qing Dynasty did well, but by the third generation, it all began going downhill. Then by the end, the family in power wasn’t the same Aisin Gioro but their in-laws. This subject will be breached in the novel too, when the male lead recovers his memories and begins changing the official history to fix some of his... more>> own mistakes and prevent future ones.

I think we get to learn about history while enjoying the politics of the imperial court and the scheming that happens in a polygamous relationship that doesn’t exactly survive on love but benefits. The heroine manages to keep cool-headed most of the time, though she sometimes comes off as naive and too optimistic (God knows I would be depressed AF being a Fu Jin). I like that it has some hot moments and some moments where the male lead gets to admire the heroine’s wits, though I admit this novel does give the heroine a powerful halo when it comes to business and innovation. The main critique of Chinese readers was that they were annoyed there were a bunch of transmigrators in the novel but I felt like it almost made sense. At least, when reading about a transmigrator, it makes me wonder why her/him. Adding a mix of good/bad/neutral characters makes it less strange and divine, but I admit having more than five transmigrators seems like an over-reach. I don’t claim this novel as the greatest one, but I think it’s entertaining, it has smut and has a plot. I hope you enjoy my translation! <<less
