He's lost so much and done so much for LJY - he's lost his reputation, left his family, does not have friends in the city he's at, yet he's always suffering to the point his psyche is affected. The depression, insomnia, anxiety and fear of losing LJY. The constant anger and the way his words are tough but his actions are soft. I was really happy when he finally walked out after he realized that LJY's feelings for Yan Jingsheng were different from the other homewreckers, but couldn't believe my eyes at the epilogue when they got back together. This is a novel I'd rather see them move on from the hurt and dependency and find their own happiness away from one another.

I can't believe this is the same guy who would arm wrestle a bunch of seniors to earn enough to buy LNX a sweet potato just to see him smile. He might have given LNX a sack of sweet potatoes, but the one sweet potato that LNX wanted and needed the most after seeing his estranged family again was the one that he'd already given to Mr Yan. LJY is an unfaithful, lying, cheating and manipulative gong who, while he loves LNX, fails to draw clear borders on their relationships, and thus gave others room to interfere. Furthermore, he is a deliberate asshat for his inability to draw clearer boundaries with Yan Jingsheng. Yes, while he wasn't chasing after YJS, and he kept saying that there was nothing going on between them, his actions proved otherwise. From his trembling heart, flicker of admiration in his eyes, and the furtive feelings he had were all invitations for him to lead YJS on. I've never met such a manipulative gong as this one, and his lies and actions are intentionally hurtful, and he never truly apologized or repented for his actions because he knew LNX would just forgive him. The way LNX told him to f*ck off the bed and he rolled off immediately knowing that LNX's soft heart would ache for him, or the way LNX would yell at him not to eat and he would not eat. I really despise this guy. His love for LNX is selfish and he's deliberately hurting him. He can chastise himself for being a failure every time he cheats, but he's never really repented, and will likely cheat again in the future.

The part where it suddenly went back to the past when the ML was drunk and talking to his buddies about how Lu Nanxuan is his and he’s “tamed” him to the point where it feels “da*n good to f*** him”was kind of a breaking point for me ig, even though he was drunk. It kinda caused Lu Nanxuan to fall out with his family too since the incident spread everywhere...

Also the part where the ML was caught with another woman in the beginning even though they’ve had this “some” relationship since they were 19? I was like “HECK TO THE NO SIR”, and the fact that it didn’t even present that much of a problem was a little weird for me.

Mr Yan. Trust me that he will cheat again and it will only lead to our MCs destined demise because of this toxic relationship.

story opens with both characters in an ambigious relationship. We learn that they have actually known each other for 19 years, and have been together for 15 years. Narrative style contains a lot of short flashbacks interspaced in the main story. Nanxuan is a social worker and jiayuan is the owner of a renown pastry shop. They are currently 31 years old, and recently "rekindled" a relationship of sorts. But nanxuans burdened with unsettled accounts and thinks jiayuan is still untrustworthy. Then love rivals show up at just the right time to test their resolve. Ultimately they manage to sort out their emotions, and get together in the end.

At first I was confused by Lu Nanxuan & Luo Jiayuan's frequent break-ups, as it was apparent that they loved each other deeply. After further reflection, I understood that their many failures were inevitable, from different ways of expressing their love to their differing definitions of commitment. Also Luo Jiayuan's an a**hole, no question about that.

I do wish the story explored how they managed to stay together every year, every major holiday even during the year they had a major break-up at age 26.

The MC and ML is not in a proper relationship. It's like "doing any other lovers do without having label" thing, that's why, eventho the ML sleeps around, I still kept in mind that they don't give each other's status they need (which both are their fault).

This person clearly has low IQ. And you know what a low IQ person do? They fight, simple minded, habitual liar, cheat on test, expelled on school and so on. While having a brawl with seniors on school, he said some deepsht only a low IQ people do– "He's f*cking the smartest person on school, tame him blah blah", living in a small village— LNX's image everywhere is definitely done for.

First of all, I couldn't even fathom if I could ever like someone who cheats on test and clearly gets kicks out because of misbehavior. He didn't finish college and run around to earn money. After he sees LXN begs to get him back to school, he promise to strive hard and give everything LXN needs, thus he became a patissier.

LNX is a single minded person. He's clearly studious and hard working. People say LJY is a bad influence to him and he's clearly is. But as a single minded person, he's clearly not as flexible. He works hard and sincere towards LJY but can't think enough beyond that. I just thought that if LNX just steps forward and lead the relationship instead of waiting for someone who's clearly s*upid, then they don't have to wait for 19 years.

I almost spit out blood on how much this name is dragged on to the reviews that I clearly knew I hate emotional cheating the most. While, I think he's great at what he does, a freelancer who does whatever– model, ads, interpreter, photography, etc. I also felt like some reviews also overthink.

Does LJY likes him? He clearly admires him. As LJY stated, he's like LXN and also as LXN said– he's like LJY. Without these factors, I don't think he amounts to something.

And LJY clearly knows him beforehand but never mind him until he shows something that resembles LXN and with too much coincidences, did LJY get to know him more. But I just knew, if the situation insist, LJY will have a chance to fall for him (which LXN perceive and fears).

But, are all of those really coincidences? Nah, too much. And without these coincidences, LJY would not mind him at all. After all, LJY is a kind of person who is a romantic but also as a s*upid person- he runs around. He's like the type of person who loves his family but also gambles on the other hand. He clearly can't hide to like anything that shines.

That's why in the end, LJY met YSJ and told him off. After all, he is s*upid. Eventho, he likes LXN a lot, he also don't know how to act right. He can only push everyone as to not hurt LXN in anyway, because he can't control himself and only knows how to spit out ridiculous lie.

But did LJY really cheat with YSJ? If you ask me? No. No Physical intimacy, verbal intimacy etc. He did have good impression of him. But that's it, having someone as s*upid as LJY I can't even perceive what he really thinks. But what's a cheat? They clearly don't have status. Instead, LJY and LXN should get a hold of each other quick.

Well, I hate how ambigous the author wrote. Like "If it 5 years ago", LJY said. Really felt like if they met 5 years earlier as YSJ interprets. Which clearly is not, after all, that's around the time LXN father's die of liver cancer and clearly the time LJY stops drinking. Also why, LXN change to sci-tech to social worker. After all, LXN also works for Nan Jia before and left at twenty-six to become a full-time social worker.

I also hate that LJY gives YSJ one piece of sweet potato. Yeah, one sweet potato didn't really matter. But LXN is feeling down at that time and remembering the good old days at that place and at that food— suddenly, it's not him at that place and not with the sweet potato but YSJ. Clearly LJY is dumb to the core, like what he said— he clearly knows LXN the most but he also don't know what LXN wants.

I like the used of advertisement tag line of LJY to confess his feelings. He clearly always has LXN in mind but he's also dumb and at last the Author also uses it to end the story with "LXN, let's be together", which none of them have said in their 19 years of knowing each other.
