Throughout my time editing this novel, I found that the synopsis and the prologue don't quite encapsulate what happened in the novel. While the synopsis focuses on the protagonist trying to get as many confessions as he can while the prologue infodumps you with the settings of the novel, the novel is actually so much more than that.

But beyond the silly-sounding synopsis and the rushed prologue, the voice of the novel is actually serious. The protagonist... more>> is intelligent, cunning, sensible. If you're familiar with our previous novel, The Cannon Fodder Turns His Sister Into A Soaring Phoenix, then you can see that both protagonists are somewhat similar. Except, for this novel, the protagonist doesn't have a harem (yet? I'm not sure either, guess we'll just have to wait and see!). The only reason he needs a confession is so that he doesn't die in the world he's currently in. And so far, four volumes in, I have yet to see the protagonist having genuine romantic affections for other characters. The protagonist's first and foremost goal in this novel is to find the other "god" and complete his goal so he can go back to the real world.

I feel like this novel is primarily action and mystery, with the way the protagonist is continuously enhancing his various skills to survive in this Prison Star World and figuring out the mysteries that follow him everywhere he goes.

Overall, once you get past the synopsis and the prologue, this novel is actually worth reading, especially if you're into cunning and intelligent protagonists! <<less

Hi guys! This is Onyx Blue, the translator of "Keep Flirting and Don't Get Killed" novel. Feeling that this story hasn't gotten the attention it deserves, I'd like to give some insight on it, and maybe hear your thoughts too.

In truth, it does have a couple of weak points (well, nothing's perfect, right?), but the main thing is that the story is getting better as it progresses-- somewhere in the second part of the second volume, I'd say.

In fact, the most problematic is the beginning of the novel. For example,... more>> trying to explain how the protagonist's new world works, the author piles up a lot of technical details that are difficult to understand in the absence of immediate actions to exemplify them. This is sorted out fairly soon once the protagonist starts getting into the action.

Another thing that readers complained about, and rightly so, is some sort of hiccup in a given situation, which basically leaves the reader to fill in the dotted line with their own explanation. However, this only happens a couple of times at the beginning and does not affect the storyline; it just gives the feeling that the author considers the explanation self-evident and skips over it.

Of course, readers might also find other faults with the novel; in the end, it's about everyone's personal taste.

I wanted to highlight these things, thinking that maybe people will judge the whole story by the few flaws at the beginning and will lack the patience to go further. However, like I said, the author fixed these flaws, and in my opinion, the pluses still outweigh the minuses.

Apart from this, the novel could be said to be a light, enjoyable read. The pace of the action is sustained, with almost no idle time, and the characters are well defined, each with their own personality. There are also cliffhangers, mysteries, emotional situations, and once again, lots of action.

As for the romance, so far, the story has some puppy love from the ladies and quite a cynical/calculated attitude from the MC. Frankly, he is too busy trying not to die to get more seriously entangled. For those who have read the book I previously translated - "The Cannon Fodder Turns His Sister Into A Soaring Phoenix", the MC has a pretty strong 'Ye Anping vibe'. So if you like this type of char, you'll find it in this novel.

To conclude, I strongly believe that this novel is worth reading. The patience required at the beginning will be rewarded with another fantastic journey into a world full of mystery and action. I hope you will enjoy the read! <<less
