1. Shang Xiao, a legendary singer, has a long neck, cold pale complexion, and a mole next to his Adam’s apple.

I rate this story 3 stars because it delivered exactly what the synopsis promised. The two scenes mentioned in it actually happened and were quite entertaining. However, overall, the plot is average and monotonous. The only parts that really held my attention were the variety show performances, which, despite being well-developed, were too few. Other than that, I felt like skipping a large part of the reading.

The story's pacing is slow, and what kept me reading were the characters, who had a certain charm. The female lead (FL) and male... more>> lead (ML) have good personalities, but the author's writing is impersonal, making it difficult to connect with them. Most of the narrative unfolds through the perspective of other characters, making the story feel more descriptive than engaging. Additionally, the sections with internet users' comments, while funny at times, were repetitive and seemed to serve only as filler, making the reading tiresome.

I almost dropped the story three times. One of the reasons was the excessive focus on the FL. Every character revolves around her, portraying her as lazy, cute, and with constant s*xual thoughts—but never acting on them while sober, which disappointed me. I expected her to take more initiative in the relationship.

There were two moments in the plot that irritated me a lot. The first was when the FL played around with the ML, testing his limits with alcohol and cigarettes. The second—and most frustrating—was when she allowed him to give up on his biggest dream, becoming a singer, in exchange for a more peaceful life. Here, I blame the author more than the character since the FL had always shown support for the ML’s career. Even so, this decision upset me so much that I almost dropped the story after he retired. I only continued to read the extras, and the fourth one really surprised me. The others didn’t interest me.

As for the ML, he is what I would call indulgent. Cold and indifferent to everyone except the FL. I like this type of character, and I admit they excite me. He has loved her since adolescence but was unaware of it due to psychological issues, even mistaking their bond for a sibling-like relationship—which was never the case. Still, he is willing to give up his career, push his limits, and restrain himself for her. Their interactions are cute, but in real life, he would have emotional dependency issues. In the end, he is the one who loses the most in this relationship.

The scenes where the protagonists are acting are great, and I really enjoyed their interactions in those moments. However, the story feels like it was written for someone with a voyeurism fetish since all the steamy scenes happen in public, while their daily relationship is cold and dull. Even though they love each other, the romance progresses at an extremely slow pace, and the biggest tension in the story is when they will go public with their relationship.

Despite the monotony of the main story, I liked the secondary couples. Shang Xian and his "Mucilon, " as well as Lin Han and Qin Lou, had interesting and intriguing moments. Extra 4, which focuses on Lin Han and Qin Lou, moved me to the point of making me cry. I even thought Extra 5 would continue their story, but since that wasn’t the case, I ended up not reading it. This extra alone could have led to another romance. I didn’t like Lin Han much, but I felt her ending in the main story was unfair, so I had hopes for the extra—only for the author to insist on returning to the monotonous story of the main couple.

In the end, the story is monotonous but beautiful. Good for those looking for a romance without challenges and an ML completely submissive to love. That’s it. <<less

I read the first 64 chapters here and later MTL it myself. Thank you to the translator for bringing this cute romance showbiz story here!

The story has:

    • Unrequited love
    • Star-chasing FL
    • Showbiz (Actress FL & Singer ML)
    • Wealthy characters background
    • Lovely cute interactions between the leads that makes you giggle
    • A little heart break
    • A logical thinking that you thought it wouldn't actually written in it (they knew what's the readers going to think and later explained it in here)
    • Pretty nice family dynamics
    • Faithful romance
To make it simple, it was such a lovely story! I like romance and I especially loves romance showbiz story. This novel focused more on the FL x ML romance development, and that's great!

A little story background:

The FL has been in love with the ML since she was still a teenager (junior high school?) and we actually don't know how big are their age difference. The ML has problems with his emotional cognitive so he basically don't care about other people and don't really understand emotions. They got married and they labeled their relationship as "brother-sister"*. After their marriage, the ML went to study music abroad and the FL decided to become an Actress to be closer to ML's world.

Spoiler-not-so-spoiler!

It was written as if the ML only started to understood his own heart after their 3 years separation. Actually it makes me confused because it feels so sudden? In those 3 years they never contacted each other, so why would he started liking her back when he's back to China? It doesn't make sense.

On later chapter it was explained that she has always been "special" to him but he just doesn't understand his own feeling. That's fine, but I still thought that it was nonsense that they won't have any contact in those 3 years, because, why???

And that's the only major thing I want to complaint, everything else are fine so basically this novel is a pretty nice read! It's always a happy thing to found a new story that able to make me giggle while reading it!

Very cute romcom. Entertaining and s**ked me into their journey. I wouldn't say it's the best of its kind in the trope. Quite cliché actually but the underlying dedication from FL is quite sweet and its a joy to see her love bear fruit.

not being able to understand emotions, he decided their relationship was one of brother/sister because the FL said so and she must be right!! Then his sister pointed out that FL liked him as a romantic interest and boom! A new perspective was found 😂

I don't quite understand how she was so open to the idea he would quit his career after everything. I mean, wasn't she his biggest fan? She literally followed him to showbiz and had problem with her family for that! How is it so easy, especially when she knows how important it is for him? I know, we know that he didn't actually completely quit— he said to his professor that he planned to work behind the scenes but she didn't know that

It was fun to read. Maybe because I really liked this ML and saw his emotional development little by little. He's nothing different, cold and cool, which everyone loves, but I don't know, I liked his interactions.

MC is also cool for most of the story, but I was left with a bit of a bad impression of her due to some situations. Like when she practically forces ML to drink and then smoke, even though she knows he hates it. I really hated that. It's easy to respect the other... more>> person's limits when your barriers are up, when he doesn't give you space to do so, it's hard to do so when the other person finally bares their throat to you.

Overall, I recommend reading it, the interactions are good and the development doesn't leave you too bored halfway through. <<less

A good read, full of fluff with not much angst. I was actually surprised with the pacing of the novel, its kind of a slowburn in a way to explain the leads love for one another. I like how the novel focused on developing each characters especially the ML.

Its also refreshing to see the FL be more assertive when it comes to physicality. There are also lot of quotes that I have saved from this novel.

Overall a good read. I am also like the online fans while reading. Too much... more>> dog food, I quite hated being single 😭 <<less

Cute story with a Entertainment circle background mostly on the online comments part. I just don't understand how an emotionally frigid person (ML) have a highly creative mind to become a prodigy in the music industry holding full commercial activities. And he even had to act in dramas later.

There's long waiting on the FL's unrequited love until the ML's icy heart melts and as expected she becomes his obsession. FL herself and the side characters are comedic, but too bad There's no update on them. Even the only antagonist in... more>> the story has no clear ending which I guess she deserves.

Cute fluffy romance story with not much drama or entanglements, a decent read. <<less
