The Age of Labyrinths.

In a world where explorers who conquer labyrinths—surviving extreme conditions, slaying monsters, and transporting cargo—have become both invaluable and wildly popular, their worth continues to soar.

The audition program Labyrinth Exploration series, designed to select the finest explorers, hits the jackpot with every new season.

I was just another fan, enjoying both the Labyrinth Exploration series and its game…

Kwarrurrurrung—!

Until I regressed. Back into the world with the status window from the Labyrinth Exploration game in tow.

[Welcome, character Seol Ha-woon!]

[Time remaining: 30 days, 30 days!]

To survive, I need to join the audition and boost my recognition.

—“Greetings. I’m Seol Ha-woon, a mage and former UDT operative.”

—“Please cast your votes for me.”

Someone in the Korean comments called it 'upcycling' tropes, and I think that's pretty accurate. It's doesn't do anything new, but it combines old tropes in an interesting new way, i.e. The dungeons from Solo Leveling, the idol show filming & regression from Debut or Die, & the exam arc from Hunter x Hunter, etc.

The MC is fairly unique: an ex-military special forces, crippled in the line of duty, in denial about his PTSD, & trying to overcome his now disabled body with magic. But it's not that he can... more>> suddenly just walk normally again with magic, he's still limping everywhere with a cane, it's just that he can now shoot endless bullets from his finger pistol & turn his cane into a sniper rifle.

It's not the most well-written story, but it's entertaining enough to keep me engaged, & I'm rooting for this ex-soldier to pick up the pieces & find his drive for life again. <<less

Out of all the dungeon novels I've read, this is undoubtedly one of the more unique ones. Like someone in the review section said, it is indeed 'recycling' old cliches into something just unfamiliar enough to be interesting. The beginning world setting is a bit confusing but the writing gets better in a few chapters. I also especially like this ex-military MC with a mysterious/tragic past. He's not that op in a 'hunter' sense, as in a lot of abilities, but his military skills make up for that, and I... more>> love that his magic is perfectly compatible with his past experience. I feel like the story makes his power level rise at a good pace according to his past, and I can't wait for his whole past to be revealed! If I were in the audience, I would be stanning like crazy.°˖✧◝ (✧▿✧) ◜✧˖° <<less
